North India is experiencing a surprise January-like chill in March, with cold mornings, fog, rain, and thunderstorms affecting Delhi and surrounding regions. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) attributes this unusual weather to a western disturbance, which has created a rare rain band over the area. Daytime temperatures have dropped several notches below normal, giving residents a taste of winter months returning unexpectedly. Satellite images show the advancing rain trough impacting large parts of North India.
