Israel-Hamas swap deals and history of Gilad Shalit
During the week-long truce deal, a series of exchanges were made between Israel and Hamas to swap Israeli hostages for Palestinian prisoners. But this is not the first time an agreement like this has taken place between Israel and Palestine. In 2011, a captured IDF tank gunner Gilad Shalit, taken by Hamas in 2006, was released in exchange for more than 1000 Palestinian prisoners held in Israel. Find out more.
