Invasive Plant Threatens El Salvador’s Largest Lake
The sprouting of water lettuce on El Salvador's largest wetland reservoir, --- Known as lake Suchitlan, is jeopardizing a key source of the country's hydropower generation as well as local species and communities... Residents are now venturng out to the reservoir on a daily basis to remove swathes of the bright green aquatic plants which has grown due to pollution and seasonal downpours.
