India: Government Employees Get 2% Increase in DA

India’s cabinet has approved a 2 percent increase in dearness allowance (DA) for government employees, raising it from 58 percent to 60 percent of basic pay. The hike will also apply to pensioners through dearness relief (DR). The change is effective from January this year.
