Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthis are proving to be a thorn in the flesh for the U.S. & its ally Israel. Since November last year, they have targeted Israeli-owned, flagged or operated ships or ships heading to the Israeli ports. Raising stakes in the ongoing Red sea crisis, the Houthis, on the 14th of March, claimed to have a new, hypersonic missile in their arsenal, according to the Russian state media. No evidence was however provided for the claim though the Houthis, in the recent past, have spoken of introducing military surprises in their Red Sea operations. How substantial is the claim and what possible implications it could have on the ongoing conflict in the Red Sea and beyond? Mohammed Saleh brings you the details.
