Paul Mescal's recently released movie, 'Gladiator 2' is running successfully in theatres worldwide. The film follows the story of Maximus's son, Lucius Verus. The sequel picks up a few decades after Ridley Scott's 2000 film, which starred Russell Crowe and Joaquin Phoenix. Long after general-turned-gladiator Maximus Decimus Meridius and Emperor Commodus killed each other in battle, long-lost heir Lucius returned to Rome as a gladiator.
