Gabon is in fact holding its very first elections after the military coup of 2023 on Saturday that ended the five-decade-long dynastic rule of Ali Bongo. The coup leaders proclaimed Brice Oligui Nguema, the Republican Guard chief and a cousin of Bongo, as president of a transitional committee to lead the nation. Watch in for more details!
