Fukushima's pet whisperer vows to stay with his feline friends to the end
Sakae Kato has literally found his life's purpose in taking care of abandoned pets in a nearly empty township of Fukushima's restricted zone. While all of his neighbours and even family fled after the quake and subsequent nuclear plant meltdown 10 years ago, Kato vowed to stay on, and began taking care of the former residents' stray pets. It wasn't before long that his hobby became his lifestyle.
