French national assembly approve the creation of ecocide bill as part of measures to protect environment

Taking a step towards tackling climate change the French national assembly approves the creation of an ecocide offense as part of a battery of measures aimed at protecting the environment. The ecocide measure was passed by 44 votes to 10 in the lower house of the Parliament and if it becomes law it will apply to the most serious cases of environmental damage at national level.
