The art of traditional carpet making in Kyrgyzstan seemed in danger of disappearing a decade ago, but the popularity of these highly ornamented textiles is making a comeback. They're the central attraction of a national festival in the central city of Naryn which becomes a colourful hub attracting visitors from near and far.
