China: Unauthorised acquisition of data to be termed a 'spying offence'

In order to strengthen national security, China is enacting a new counter-espionage law that will grant State agencies broad authority. Under this updated law, any unauthorised acquisition of documents or data connected to national security interests can be considered spying. Beijing is combating espionage by addressing the entire society.
