Argentina's Congress upheld President Javier Milei's veto of a bill to increase pensions. The chamber of deputies voted 153 in favour of the pension hike with 87 against it falling short of the two-thirds needed to approve the bill. Thousands gathered to protest Milei's veto, sparking clashes outside parliament. Police fired pepper spray and rubber bullets at protestors who broke down barriers and clashed with security forces.
