Vijay Mallya, in a social media post, questioned how he could be considered an economic offender after more than double the amount was recovered that had been determined by the courts as debt owed. He cited a statement by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in parliament regarding the recovery of over 14,130 crore rupees from assets attached to him.
