Alien encounter in backyard of a Las Vegas house not fake, expert examiner claims

Match 55 of the IPL 2024 edition saw the Mumbai Indians (MI) beat Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by seven wickets, at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, in pursuit of 174 on Monday (May 6). Hardik Pandya-led MI opted to bowl first and rode on the captain and Piyush Chawla's three-fers to restrict SRH to 173 for 8 before Suryakumar Yadav's 102 not-out propelled his side to a much-needed win after they were reeling at 31 for 3 at one stage.

During the MI run-chase, Rohit Sharma departed for a 5-ball 4. While Hitman started the season on a decent note, including a ton versus Chennai Super Kings (CSK), his scores in the last five games read 4, 11, 4, 8 and 6 (adding the SRH game as well). After his dismissal, a video surfaced online where the former MI skipper Rohit was seen sitting in sheer disappointment in the dugout. Fans speculated that the Indian captain was crying after his string of poor scores. Here is the video:

Rohit is set to lead the 15-man Indian squad in the upcoming T20 WC. India are placed in Group A along with Pakistan, USA, Canada and Ireland.
An elephant stunned the commuters in Montana in the United States as she roamed on the streets of Butte on Tuesday.

The elephant escaped the confines of a travelling circus, NBC Montana reported. Sheriff Ed Lester of the Butte-Silver Bow Law Enforcement Department said the elephant was "spooked by a vehicle and escaped briefly."

Videos and images from Butte show the large animal walking around Harrison Avenue, overshadowing cars. A man was seen carrying a stick, desperately trying to corral the elephant on one of the roads. Another video shows the animal hilariously crossing the road in a designated turning lane, although in the opposite direction.

People from the Ethical Treatment of Animals, the animal welfare group, informed that the animal escaped similarly before in 2010 and 2014.
Gujarat Titans (GT) edged past hosts Rajasthan Royals (RR) in a last-ball thriller in match 24 of the IPL 2024 edition on Wednesday (April 10), in Jaipur. Chasing 197, Gujarat needed 73 off the last 30 balls and also lost skipper Shubman Gill (72 off 40 balls) before Rashid Khan's 11-ball 24* and Rahul Tewatia's 11-ball 22 took GT to a win in a last-ball thriller.

Not many had given GT a chance, especially after their below-par bowling and very poor fielding effort. In the run-chase, they were reduced to 79 for 3 in 10.4 overs and further complicated their task by needing 73 off the last five overs. However, Rashid and Tewatia ended things in style after Gill played a captain's knock. At the post-match presentation, Gill's epic one-liner went viral when presenter-cum-commentator Harsha Bhogle said, "Some of us thought you had left it too late."

To this, Gill was quick to respond by saying, "When Gujarat is playing, never think that again (smiles)." Here is the video -

Talking about the rain-hit game, Sanju Samson-led Royals came into this game on the back of being the only unbeaten side in this year's IPL after four successive wins. They were asked to bat first and soon reduced to 42-2. However, Riyan Parag's 76 (48) and Samson's 38-ball 68* propelled their side to 196 for 3.
India are on top of England on Day 1 of the fifth and final Test in Dharamsala on Thursday (March 7). Opting to bat first, Ben Stokes-led England only managed 218 in 57.4 overs with Kuldeep Yadav taking 5 for 72. From England, opener Zak Crawley top-scored with a fine 79 but was dismissed by Kuldeep by a peach of a delivery. The wrist-spinner bowled a full-length delivery, prompting Crawley to go for a drive. The Englishman had a huge gap between bat and pad and missed the length completely to see his stumps get rattled.

Passengers who were inside the Japan Airlines flight that burst into flames after a collision with a Coast Guard aircraft in Tokyo have been recalling their horrific experience. The incident took place on the runway at the city's Haneda airport on Tuesday (Jan 2) as the Japan Airlines Flight 516 made a landing and started skidding down the tarmac. All 379 people who were present inside the Airbus A-350 had a miraculous escape before the jet was completely engulfed by flames. The Japanese coast guard plane's pilot, a Bombardier Dash-8, was also able to escape, however, five crew members died. The flight had to head to Niigata airport to deliver aid to the residents who were affected by a massive earthquake in the region on Monday (Jan 1) in which 62 people were killed.
