<p>India’s northeastern Manipur state has been on alert after an unidentified flying object was spotted near the capital Imphal city airport's runway on Sunday (Nov 19).</p>

<p>Times of India news outlet reported, citing a source, that the unidentified aerial vehicle was spotted in the afternoon at 2 pm (local time) by a&nbsp; Central Industrial Security Force&nbsp;(CISF) personnel following which operations were halted and around 500&nbsp;passengers of three outbound flights were stranded.</p>

<p>NDTV reported, citing sources, that the airport authorities closed the "controlled airspace" and stopped all flight operations immediately. Two flights were diverted, while three were delayed.</p>

<p>According to reports, the&nbsp;air traffic control (ATC) and people on the ground saw the drones around, after which the three flights — two Air India, and an IndiGo flight — were told not to take off. At the same time, two incoming flights were diverted.</p>

<p>"Due to sighting of an unidentified flying object within Imphal controlled airspace, two flights have been diverted and three departing flights have been delayed. Flight operations commence after receipt of clearance from the competent authority," a statement issued by Airport Director Chipemmi Keishing said.</p>

<h2><strong>Flights suspended for three hours&nbsp;</strong></h2>

<p>The three flights—three flights scheduled to depart from Imphal to Agartala, Guwahati and Kolkata—remain&nbsp;suspended till 6 pm. Another flight from Delhi to Imphal&nbsp;was diverted to Kolkata while a flight from Guwahati to&nbsp;Imphal at 3.50 pm, which was also suspended later&nbsp;departed at 6.50 pm.</p>

<p>"The UFO was visible with bare eyes moving westwards of the airfield till 4 pm," an Air Traffic Control (ATC) official told PTI news agency.</p>

<p>“The CNEOS website only captures reports for objects that are estimated to have exceeded one metre in size based on the observed total energy released—in other words natural objects which were large enough to be categorised as asteroids prior to entering Earth’s atmosphere,” explained Johnson. &nbsp;</p>

<p>A captain in the United States Air Force has revealed that around half a century ago, a UFO attack allegedly took down weapons on a nuclear missiles base he was working on. Speaking to National Geographic, the Air Force Captain has alleged that the incident was concealed from the public.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Sharing his account of the incident where his nuclear missile base was allegedly "attacked by a UFO",&nbsp;retired US Air Force captain Robert Salas said that the encounter took place over 50 years ago, on March 24, 1967, to be exact.</p>

<p>He claims that the base at that time was holding 10 nuclear missiles.</p>

<p>The guards on duty were reportedly left "frightened,"&nbsp;"screaming" and "babbling" after the&nbsp;close encounter.&nbsp;</p>

<p>He recalls, "Sometime in the evening hours, I get a call from the main guard upstairs. He tells me that there are strange lights flying upon the facility."&nbsp;</p>

<p>As per Express UK, he spoke of his initial dismissal of the situation, saying, "I kind of dismissed it. I even said: 'You mean like UFOs?' About five minutes later, he calls back, and he is screaming."</p>

<p>"We have 50 to 100-ish new reports each month," stated Sean Kirkpatrick, director of the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO). He added that only 2 per cent to 5 per cent of the sightings collected in the database are "possibly really anomalous”.<br />

During the public meeting, a video taken by a naval aircraft was shared which showed a series of dots slowly moving across the night sky in the United States. The object was not intercepted by the military plane and it later turned out to be a commercial aircraft which was flying towards a major airport.<br />
<br />
However, some sightings remain more mysterious. A report published by Pentagon in 2021 had stated that out of 144 sightings noted by military pilots since 2004, one remained unexplained. Officials have not rejected the possibility of objects being extra-terrestrial.<br />
<br />
The head of the Pentagon's All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office stated said that they cannot rule out the existence of intelligent alien life but that no sighting till now has been observed which can be considered as evidence of extraterrestrial origins.</p>

<p>Kirkpatrick further stated that privacy concerns have been limiting the investigations carried out by the agency. "We can point the largest collection apparatus in the entire globe at any point we want," he stated.</p>

<p>"A lot of what we have is around the continental United States. Most people...don't like it when we point our entire collection apparatus at your backyard,” he added.</p>

<p>Videos shared by these two Wisconsin residents captured a moment where four of the lights appear in a row and a fifth light, flying from the left, joins the formation, the Daily Mail report on Monday said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Another resident of the US state- Andrea Lynn, also saw these strange lights in the sky on December 1. Taking to Facebook, Lynn shared four videos of the sighting outside her house about 80 miles north in Howard.</p>

<p>This news of a possible UFO sighting in the US comes as the Pentagon received several hundreds of new UFO reports but there was no evidence of alien life so far. <p>'The Calvine Photo' which is said to be the world's clearest UFO has been finally released 30 years after it was taken by two hikers in the Scottish Highlands.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The image claimed to be of an Unidentified flying object (UFO), was snapped on August 4, 1990, and was handed over to Scotland's Daily Record newspaper. Eventually, it was given to the Ministry of Defence (MoD)) of the country.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In the black and white image, a giant diamond-shaped object can be seen in the sky, which is said to be a UFO. Some described it as the "world's best" UFO image.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The 1995 eerie incident happened when two American pilots flying the American West flight 564 from Dallas, Texas, to Las Vegas claimed to have a close encounter with a 'UFO'.</p>

<p>However, latest reports suggested that it might not be the case as was previously believed.</p>

<p>Captain Eugene Tollefson and his co-pilot John Waller were cruising at an altitude, with a full cabin of passengers, when a flight attendant saw something odd in the sky.</p>

<p>Although there was no interaction between the plane and the UFO, the crew reported seeing strange lights in the distance among clouds, reports Daily Express.</p>

<p>Waller then contacted Air Traffic Control in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to report the object.</p>

<p>A transcript of the exchange can be heard where Waller was saying, “Off to our three o’clock, got some strobes out there. Could you tell us what it is?”</p>

<p>When promoted about what he saw, Waller said: “There’s a strobe and starts… um, going on counter-clockwise, and uh… the length is unbelievable.”</p>

<p>After failing to detect the mysterious aircraft on radar systems, the Air Traffic Control called the pilots back, saying, “Cactus 564… we checked with Cannon and they don't have any, uh,&nbsp;weather balloons or anything up tonight.&nbsp;Nobody upfront knows any idea about that. Do you still see it?”</p>

<p>They replied: “Negative… back where we initially spotted it was between the weather and us and when there's lightning you could see a dark object… and, uh, it was pretty eerie looking.”&nbsp;</p>

<p>The odd incident had astronomers befuddled who then tried to analyse the situation.</p>

<p>Reports of UFO sightings increased tremendously during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, according to the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC).</p>

<p>According to NUFORC, UFO sightings across the US increased by about 1,000 during 2020 when compared to 2019.</p>

<p>The total number of sighting in 2020 stood at over 7,200 with the highest spike recorded in the US state of New York, where the sightings almost doubled.&nbsp;The jump in sightings may be due to a lot of people staying in during the pandemic, and many leaving cities for more open spaces to get away from the virus, as reported by the New York Times.</p>

UFO sightings in US rose sharply during the pandemic, data reveals

<p>The CIA allowed documents to accessed by downloading from the Black Vault website. The data involved every instance of Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) which has been mapped by the US government.</p>

<p>In April 2020, the Pentagon released three short videos showing "unidentified aerial phenomena". Earlier, the US Navy had confirmed the clips as real. The videos released by the Pentagon date back to 2004 and 2015, and show flying objects that cannot be identified. <p>"Incredibly, part of the information released discusses material with shape recovery properties, much like the "memory metal" debris found fallen at the<strong> Roswell UFO crash</strong> in 1947," he revealed.</p>

<p>"Based on the documentation received, it appears that the retrieved debris exhibits other extraordinary capabilities. In addition to "remembering" their original form when bent or crushed, some of these futuristic materials have the potential to make things invisible, "compress" <strong>electromagnetic energy</strong>, and even slow down the speed of light," Bragalia said.</p>

<p>According to Bragalia, the documents revealed the tests were carried out by Bigelow Aerospace, a Las Vegas company which performs private contract for the Department of Defense.&nbsp;</p>

UFO sighting in Florida triggers wild theories including Trident missile test

<p>Avi Loeb, a Harvard professor is claiming&nbsp;scientists have collectively ignored evidence suggesting that an alien vessel paid us a visit.</p>

<p>In his&nbsp;new book, American-Israeli physicist&nbsp;Loeb&nbsp;argues that the simplest and best explanation for the highly unusual characteristics of an interstellar object that sped through our solar system in 2017 is that it was alien technology.</p>

<p>'Oumuamua was never photographed close-up during its brief sojourn, we only learned of its existence once it was already on its way out of our solar system.</p>

<p>Loeb says simulations favour the latter and believes the object was deliberately crafted as a light sail propelled by stellar radiation.</p>

UFO sightings in New York City jumped by over 283% this year compared to 2018

<p>If surprises were competitive sports, 2020 would win! After a raging pandemic, natural disasters driven by climate change, and strange sightings, 2020 has been weird in all ways possible.</p>

<p>Something that recently happened in Hawaii baffled citizens. People saw mysterious lights booming across the night sky, confusing many, and providing a backbone to a classic case of mass hysteria laden with conspiracy theories and bizarre assumptions.</p>

<p>And while sentiments of panic rang high over the weekend in the region, scientists figured out what the bright lights were. The lights were spotted parading across the skies on Saturday night.</p>

A witness told a local news broadcaster KHON what they saw in the sky, and claimed to have been "freaking out''.</p>

<p>Kuuipo Kanawaliwali, the witness filmed the raging lights, which they thought was simply ''eerie''.<br />

“I started videotaping and when they got closer.. I start freaking out because I’m like, ‘Oh, what in the world is this?’”</p>

<p>Another witness also shared what they saw with KHON, claiming they didn't "know what it was''.</p>

O'Meara told Maui Now that it was indeed a rocket booster which caused the glowing lights in the sky, which were used to launch a Venezuelan communications satellite in 2008.</p>

<p>It became visible after all these years owing to the decay it had undergone in the Earth's atmosphere. After all the damage, it reentered the Pacific, after being slowed down due to slowed capability.&nbsp;</p>
