Reports suggest that a majority of Twitter Inc's shareholders have voted in favour of the social media company's $44 billion sale to Elon Musk.
Shareholders were widely expected to vote in favour after a stock market downturn made Musk's $54.20-per-share deal for Twitter, which was signed in April, look pricey in the current environment. Twitter shares are now hovering around $41.

The Twitter-Elon Musk saga refuses to die down or reach any conclusion. Reportedly, the Tesla founder has now used a severance payment made to a whistleblower as a reason to walk out of the $44 billion deal.

In response, Twitter attempted to argue that it wasn't liable to inform about the severance package.

After bots, what is Elon Musk's new reason to terminate the Twitter deal?

You may know Queen Elizabeth II for several reasons, but did you know that she was known to be Britain’s first high-tech monarch? The Queen was more tech-savvy than you could imagine. She was an enthusiastic advocate of technology, and there are several reasons to believe so.

Her coronation in 1953 was the first ever to be televised. She was an early adopter of the internet. In 1976, she sent her first email when visiting the Royal signals and radar establishment in Malvern, England.

It’s reported that she never wrote her emails herself but dictated them. British computer scientist Peter Kirsetin is the man who actually helped the queen in setting up her account in 1976 or rather say, he is the one who put the Queen of England on the internet.

Her username was also quite interesting – “HME2”, which stands for Her Majesty Elizabeth II. Her interest in technology was not just limited to sending emails, in 1997, she launched the first version of the royal family’s website, years before some major media publications in the UK decided to go online.

In December 2007, she launched the royal family‘s YouTube channel, the channel today has 973,000 subscribers. Many of you would be surprised to know, but she was no stranger to social media. She used both Twitter and Instagram accounts as part of the royal family. In 2014, the Queen sent a tweet from the @Britishmonarchy Twitter account in front of a live audience. She had posted to the ‘British monarchy’ Twitter account, which was later renamed, today the account is called ‘The Royal Family.’

She tweeted, “It is a pleasure to open the Information Age exhibition today at the @ScienceMuseum and I hope people will enjoy visiting. Elizabeth R.”

She had posted to the ‘British monarchy’ Twitter account, which was later renamed, today the account is called ‘The Royal Family.’ She tweeted, “It is a pleasure to open the Information Age exhibition today at the @ScienceMuseum and I hope people will enjoy visiting. Elizabeth R.” It is a pleasure to open the Information Age exhibition today at the @ScienceMuseum and I hope people will enjoy visiting.
Things went out of hand at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah on Wednesday evening (September 7) after Babar Azam-led Pakistan edged past Afghanistan by one wicket in a last-over thriller at the Asia Cup. Things went out of hand at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah on Wednesday evening (September 7) after Babar Azam-led Pakistan edged past Afghanistan by one wicket in a last-over thriller at the Asia Cup. In another riveting Super Four clash, Babar & Co. chased down a tricky 130-run target, after being reduced to 110/8, courtesy of Naseem Shah's twin sixes in the last over. With this, Pakistan booked a spot in the final where they will face Sri Lanka on September 11 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai. Meanwhile, Pakistan's win led to both Afghanistan and India being eliminated. As a result, the Afghan fans went berserk and created a huge ruckus by breaking chairs and throwing them at Pakistan supporters in the stands. The video of Afghan-Pakistani fans' unruly exchange went viral in no time.
Twitter announced on Thursday it has begun actively testing an edit button, a feature that has been on the discussion table for months. However, it won't be made available to you just yet. "Edit Tweet is a feature that lets people make changes to their Tweet after it's been published," the company said on its blog. "Think of it as a short period of time to do things like fix typos, add missed tags, and more."

Here is all you need to know about the feature.

How will the "Edit Tweet" feature work?

In case the user makes a typo or forgets to add the desired hashtags, they will have 30 minutes after first publishing the tweet to make the changes to their 280-character messages.

Will others know that a Tweet has been modified?

In order to make sure others know that a tweet has been modified, they will be labelled and appear with an icon and timestamp. Users can even look up past versions of the tweet by tapping the label.

Here's all you need to know about Twitter’s much-awaited ‘Edit tweet’ feature

Twitter said on Thursday (September 1) that it has started actively testing the much-debated edit button. The social media giant has spent months publicly discussing the tweak.

In the latest development, the company said that the trial of "Edit Tweet" will begin with internal employees, and then be expanded out to the platform's "Twitter Blue" subscription population.

On its blog, the company said, "Edit Tweet is a feature that lets people make changes to their Tweet after it's been published. Think of it as a short period of time to do things like fix typos, add missed tags, and more."

Twitter said that under the revision, which is being studied, users could edit a tweet "a few times". The edit could only be possible in the 30 minutes after the initial posting, in ways that transparently note the changes to "help protect the integrity of the conversation and create a publicly accessible record of what was said."

Think of it as a short period of time to do things like fix typos, add missed tags, and more." ALSO READ | More paid features on Facebook and Instagram? Twitter has been accused of failing to tackle the spread of anti-LGBTQ hate speech and misinformation about monkeypox. Molly Gambhir tells you more.

WION Fineprint | Twitter failed to tackle LGBTQ monkeypox hate speech, says study

A study has revealed that following the outbreak of monkeypox virus in May, several online discussions linking the virus to the LGBTQ community took place. Twitter has now been slammed for failing to tackle this hate speech and misinformation around the virus. The study conducted by the Institute for Strategic Dialogue (ISD) says that a lot of people used the virus and the platform to spread online hate about the LGBTQ community.

According to the research done by the ISD, anti-LGBTQ comments were used to specifically demonise gay men on Twitter and to spread false information about them being the source of the outbreak. Certain conspiracists have suggested that the two US children who got infected, contracted the infection through sexual interactions with men. Such statements have led to disinformation that gay men were a danger to kids who want to turn them queer.

Monkeypox isn't considered a sexually-transmitted disease since it basically spreads through droplets via respiratory tracts, and the belongings of an infected person.

The United Nations’ Aids agency has already denounced some reporting on the monkeypox virus as racist and homophobic, warning that it could lead to stigma.
