Paul McCartney's missing guitar has been found! After more than half a century of search, the iconic guitar has been reunited with its master, Sir Paul.

The guitar that McCartney played during his early days with the Beatles was stolen in 1972 from a van in London. However, the guitar has been recovered from the family's attic after the months-long global search that was launched in 2023.

In the statement released on McCartney's website, they said: “Following the launch of last year’s Lost Bass Project, Paul’s 1961 Höfner 500/1 bass guitar, which was stolen in 1972, has been returned. The guitar has been authenticated by Höfner, and Paul is incredibly grateful to all those involved.”

In September 2023, a global search was launched for the missing instrument that McCartney bought for £30 ($37) in Hamburg’s Steinway Musikhaus and carried during his early period with The Beatles.

Höfner, the German manufacturer of the instrument, launched a search, naming it The Lost Bass Project.

In the press release, the German manufacturer noted that the search was launched in 2018, but things started to speed up in 2023, and with the help of the worldwide coverage on the lost bass, the team got information about the actual theft and how later it was sold to the landlord of a pub in the Notting Hill area.
As a result of worldwide coverage, ''someone living in the South of England'' remembered an old bass guitar lying in their attic. The person checked it and realised that it was the same guitar.

Recalling the time when he bought the guitar, Paul said, "I got my violin bass at the Steinway shop in the town centre. I remember going along and there was this bass which was quite cheap. So for about £30, I found this Höfner violin bass. And to me, because I was left-handed, it looked less daft because it was symmetrical. I got into that.
In China, a young boy has delighted people by complaining to the police about his father favouring his older sister over him. The 10-year-old child from Hunan province in Southern China complained not once but eight times in the space of a year.

As per a South China Morning Post (SCMP) report, every time the little boy would feel ignored, he would walk one kilometre to the nearest police station to complain about his troubles.

Most recently, he made the journey on January 28, when he asked officers to help him.

Chinese boy takes matters into his own hands, complains to police about father favouring sister

Two dogs that fatally attacked a grandmother in Britain's Essex have been identified as the banned XL bullies, police confirmed Friday (Feb 9). The 68-year-old lady was attacked on Saturday (Feb 3) while she was visiting her grandson at a Jaywick home. The attack on Esther Martin only ended after police officers shot the animals dead. Now, post-mortem examinations have revealed that the dogs were indeed XL bullies after much speculation about their breed.

The news comes as new rules came into effect on owning American XL bully dogs, which amounts to a virtual ban on the breed. In England and Wales, owning the breed without an exemption certificate has been outlawed.
The rules stipulate that registered XL bullies be kept on a lead and muzzled in public. Scotland will introduce similar ban later this year.

The owner of the dog, 39-year-old Ashley Warren has been arrested by police on suspicion of dangerous dog offences and released on police bail until March.

“I know there has been a huge amount of speculation about the breed and type of dog involved here, but it was really important we got that information right and established the facts," said Chief Superintendent Stuart Weaver.

"We owe it to Esther and her family to ensure we are thorough, professional and, above all, fair," he added.

Owner calls for eradication of the breed

The owner is now calling for the eradication of the breed following the death of Esther Martin. Warren, from Jaywick, said: “Never in a million years did I see [the dogs] as a risk.

“If my dogs did that to her, when I had never seen anything but love from them, then that breed just has a killer switch," he added.

Esther Martin’s family blames owner’s ignorance

Meanwhile, Esther Martin’s family has said the dogs were not responsible for the attack but Warren’s attitude towards the animals.

"There are a lot of mosquitoes in our area. I just requested that the Pune Corporation resolve it as quickly as possible. It is dangerous for our health," he said.

US President Joe Biden's recent encounter with King Abdullah II of Jordan at the White House has made him the butt of jokes once again. A video of Biden from Monday (Feb 12) is going viral on social media. Ahead of the King of Jordan's speech at the White House, the 81-year-old leader was seen dithering around behind the Jordan leader in confusion.

Another gaffe?

What unfolded in front of the press was a scene of bewildering uncertainty as the US President shuffled around, seemingly unsure of his place during the royal's address.

Welcoming the King, Biden tells him "Your majesty, over to you," before embarking on a display that bordered on comical. Biden, with a puzzled expression, paced behind the king, seemingly searching for the optimal position as Abdullah began his remarks.

This time it will be Deadpool & Wolverine At the Super Bowl LVIII halftime show, the first trailer of the much-awaited Deadpool 3 was dropped and it's all things fun. The makers also revealed the official title of the third movie, i.e. Deadpool and Wolverine. Deadpool 3 also marks the entry of the hero into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The trailer not only shows Ryan Reynolds in the avatar of his foul-mouthed superhero yet again but also Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. For those who don't know, Wolverine died in 2017's film Logan. Deadpool 3 Trailer: The trailer starts with Wade Wilson celebrating his birthday with his gang before he gets kidnapped from his home by the Time Variance Authority, the agency that manages the MCU multiverse world. "Your little cinematic universe is about to change," Reynolds says in the clip. Tackling the enemies in Deadpool's trademark style of violence, R-rated jokes and humour, in the trailer, Wade, who is calling himself Marvel Jesus this time, shows a whole lot of energy. At the end of the clip, we only get a short glimpse of Wolverine from behind. "Don't just stand there, you ape. Give me a hand," Deadpool says as we see Wolverine's shadow, showing him his sharp claws. The film will likely show Wolverine and Deadpool as buddies. Sharing the trailer on his social media handle, Ryan wrote, "Welcome to the mercury in retrograde of Marvel Phases. #DeadpoolWolverine." In another clip, Reynolds asked netizens if they had seen the film's trailer. He also managed to give his signature callout to his wife Blake Lively in a cheeky fashion in the same post. "Has everyone seen the #Deadpool trailer? Also, has anyone seen my wife?" he posted.
What makes a proposal 'perfect'? If you are planning on popping "the question" to your partner this Valentine's Day, an Oxford University mathematician has revealed the formula behind the perfect proposal.

Before we reveal the formula, what do you think makes for a perfect proposal? Flowers, a fancy meal, a sandy beach at sunset? Turns out, it is none of these. As per Dr Tom Crawford, a mathematician from Oxford University, the recipe for success is hidden in numbers.

The formula for a 'yes'

"If you follow this recipe for success, you'll be giving yourself the best possible chance of getting that 'Yes'," said the mathematician.

The maths of a perfect proposal has a perfect score of 100. For a 'yes', the proposal must be based on four key factors that are worth 20 points each — the time of the proposal meal, the timing of the proposal itself, the amount of planning you put in and finally the cost of the engagement ring (yes, you need one).

In addition, the chances of acceptance can be boosted by some simple things, worth the last 20 points — give a heartfelt speech, create a romantic setting (think flowers and lighting), and play good music.

Based on a survey of 2,000 people, Dr Crawford recommends that you start your meal at 8:06 pm, and pop the question after the main course, but before dessert. The engagement ring should cost at least 2.5 months of your salary and finally, you must dedicate at least 68 days to planning the proposal.

£11,000 iPad roaming bill forces Scotland minister Michael Matheson to resign. Here's what happened

It is rightly said that dogs are man's best friend. A canine companion has once again proven this by his unmatched loyalty. In India's Himachal Pradesh, a dog stood and guarded his master's body from wild animals amid snow for 48 hours.

The incident is from Bir-Billing, where Alpha, a German Shepherd stood guard over his human Abhinandan Gupta and his friend Parnita Bal Sahib's bodies at the daunting height of 9,000 feet.

What happened?

Pune residents Gupta and his friend Sahib, as per a Tribune India report had gone to the popular tourist destination Billing on Sunday (Feb 4th) afternoon by a private car. While returning to their base camp at Chogan near Bir, the friends due to heavy snow left their car midway and started making their way on foot along with the dog, Alpha.

But the duo reportedly slipped due to the snow and fell into a deep gorge. Footprints at the scene of the incident suggests that they tried to climb out of the gorge, but failed. They died there, probably due to the acute cold and injuries.

A rescue team comprising paragliders and the police found their bodies with Alpha keeping guard over them. While they had signs of attack by wild animals, the dog kept their bodies from being taken away by wild animals like black bear and leopards.

He was found wailing next to them. An official said that "Alpha's continuous wailing reflected his desperation and grief as if he was hoping that the team would save his master. Alpha too had sustained injuries, but he survived and continued to guard the bodies for 48 hours till Tuesday when rescue team reached on the spot."

While they had signs of attack by wild animals, the dog kept their bodies from being taken away by wild animals like black bear and leopards. He was found wailing next to them. An official said that "Alpha's continuous wailing reflected his desperation and grief as if he was hoping that the team would save his master. Alpha too had sustained injuries, but he survived and continued to guard the bodies for 48 hours till Tuesday when rescue team reached on the spot." How the bodies were recovered As per the report, Abhinandan Gupta's brother-in-law reported that the friends were missing. The duo was missing since Sunday, and their phones were switched off.
Jeremy Renner is looking to the future with all hope. It's been a year since Renner met with a near-fatal accident on New Year in Reno, Nevada when he was clearing snow off his driveway with his nephew. After a year of recovery, Runner is doing fine now and has resumed work on his upcoming drama, Mayor of Kingstown. Renner also recently addressed whether he would return to MCU World.

In the Marvel world, Renner played the role of an avenger, Hawkeye. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, the actor said, "I'm always game. I'm gonna be strong enough, that's for sure. I'll be ready.''

Why Taylor Swift’s globe-trotting in private jets is getting scrutinised

Further referring to his Avenger's co-star who visited him after the harrowing accident, the actor said, ''All those guys come to my bedside and they've been with me all along through this recovery, so... if they want me, they could have me. It would be something."

Renner made his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) in 2011 with the movie Thor. Since then, he has reprised the role of Hawkeye, the world's greatest archer, in several other MCU films such as, The Avengers (2012), Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), Captain America: Civil War (2016), Avengers: Endgame (2019), and most recently in Disney+ series Hawkeye.

In the interview, the actor also talked about his first-ever Super Bowl commercial.

"I had a commercial career, then I got a movie star career. I never had an ad in the big game," Renner said.

"I'll be watching this one, and I'm so stoked, because they're sometimes the highlight of the Super Bowl. Some games aren't always the greatest, but the ads are always the greatest. It's nice to be part of that, thinking [I can] check that off the box of things I want to do in my life," he added.

I'll be ready.'' Why Taylor Swift’s globe-trotting in private jets is getting scrutinised Further referring to his Avenger's co-star who visited him after the harrowing accident, the actor said, ''All those guys come to my bedside and they've been with me all along through this recovery, so... if they want me, they could have me. It would be something." Renner made his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) in 2011 with the movie Thor. Why Taylor Swift’s globe-trotting in private jets is getting scrutinised In the interview, the actor also talked about his first-ever Super Bowl commercial. Jamie Lee Curtis celebrates 25 years of sobriety: 'There are others out here who care'

A day after announcing her death, Poonam Pandey emerged alive and healthy. According to Pandey, the faked death stunt was an attempt to draw public attention towards cervical cancer. A day after her manager shared a grief note announcing Poonam's death, the controversial actress came out with a video on social media clarifying that she staged her death only to spread awareness about cancer. Her promotional strategy has left everyone in disbelief. People, including celebrities have come out and criticised the actor for lying about her death.

A few hours after Poonam shared she had faked her death, Satyajeet Tambe, a member of the Maharashtra Legislative Council, demanded Mumbai police to take strict action against the model.

Fifty shades of misinformation? Poonam Pandey's fake death poses new challenges for journalism and PR

Seeking legal action against Pandey, MLC Tambe said, "The news of Poonam Pandey's death ultimately proved to be a publicity stunt. The phenomenon raises many basic questions. The first of them was the way the news was garbed as awareness. The news of an influencer/model dying of cervical cancer cannot be a means to spread awareness about the disease. The entire episode takes away the serious nature of Cervical Cancer and diverts the attention entirely to the influencer."

''The actor has pulled a prank on the cancer survivors rather than raising awareness," he added.

Not only Tambe, but the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has also demanded an FIR against Poonam.

AICWA President Suresh Shyamlal Gupta speaking to news agency ANI said, "Poonam has played with the emotions of people in India. After learning about the news of her demise, so many people prayed for her and her family...She hurt the sentiments of people by involving in a cheap publicity stunt. It was not the right way to create awareness about cancer. I request police to register an FIR against her."

The whole drama started on Friday (January 2) when Poonam's manager shared a statement on her Instagram handle, announcing the model's death due to cervical cancer.

Every living form that ever came in contact with her was met with pure love and kindness. In this time of grief, we would request for privacy while we remember her fondly for all that we shared,' the statement read.

A day later, after her name and cervical cancer trended all over social media, Pandey shared a video clarifying that she was alive and that it was all to spread awareness about cervical cancer. In the video, she says, "I am sorry I have caused this tear and I am sorry to those whom I've hurt. My intension to shock everyone into the conversation we are not talking enough about, which is cervical cancer. Yes, I faked my demise."

Poonam Pandey's fake death poses new challenges for journalism and PR Seeking legal action against Pandey, MLC Tambe said, "The news of Poonam Pandey's death ultimately proved to be a publicity stunt. The phenomenon raises many basic questions. The first of them was the way the news was garbed as awareness. The news of an influencer/model dying of cervical cancer cannot be a means to spread awareness about the disease. The entire episode takes away the serious nature of Cervical Cancer and diverts the attention entirely to the influencer." ''The actor has pulled a prank on the cancer survivors rather than raising awareness," he added. I request police to register an FIR against her." The whole drama started on Friday (January 2) when Poonam's manager shared a statement on her Instagram handle, announcing the model's death due to cervical cancer.
