Later, Sethi also slammed Shah in an exclusive interaction with Sports Tak. In the interview, he slammed BCCI saying 'it is an independent board' and not reliant on the government to finalise whether to travel to Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023 and feels if India doesn't want to visit their neighbouring country for the continental tournament, Pakistan also have a right to ask for the ODI World Cup to be held elsewhere.

'What type of standards are these?'

Sethi said, "If you won't come to Pakistan and then say come to India. What type of standards are these? I believe that politics should be kept far aside. BCCI is an independent board but ours (PCB) is linked to the government. So definitely we have to take many permissions from the government but the BCCI considers itself as an independent and private unit then such type of politics isn't necessary." He stated, "What is neutral venue? Why should we host our tournament in a neutral country? Let's play the 2023 World Cup match between India and Pakistan at a neutral venue in Australia then."

Sethi asserted, "Earlier also Mr Jay Shah gave a statement in which my predecessor Mr Ramiz Raja was not happy with that and expressed disappointment. He announced before that we (India) won't play against Pakistan in Pakistan." He added, "So the thing is on one side you want Pakistan to come and play the World Cup (2023) in India. On the other end, you say we don't want to go to Pakistan to play the Asia Cup. Tomorrow when the Champions Trophy will be played in Pakistan, won't you play that as well?."

While the Asia Cup has been confirmed to be held in September, there is nothing official regarding which country will host the event. Moreover, Pakistan have threatened to boycott the 2023 ODI World Cup, in India, if they are deprived of hosting rights for the continental event. Hence, some big decisions are on the way with regard to both events.

Pakistan are also scheduled to host the 2025 Champions Trophy. Hence, a lot will depend on how things pan out this year before the next CT, i.e. regarded as a mini version of the WC.

He&nbsp;said, "One positive from my stint as a chairman was that I provided leadership. If you remember, New Zealand had left, and we told them that what you did was unfair. The England team refused to come; we spoke with them, following which they played 7 T20Is instead of 5, two extra. The ECB staff visited Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium; they came to my office and apologised. Similarly, Australia also visited."

Former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ramiz Raja has landed himself in hot waters as the board has now threatened legal against him over his remarks on the newly-appointed chief Najam Sethi. As the war of words broke out between both parties following Raja's unceremonious exit from the board last Thursday, PCB issued a statement on Wednesday, December 28th, claiming Ramiz's comments&nbsp;that were aimed to tarnish Najam Sethi's image, alongside the language used, has upset the management, who will now take care of the cricketing affairs in the country.&nbsp;

"The Pakistan Cricket Board has expressed its disappointment over the comments made and language used by former Chairman Mr Ramiz Raja against Chairman of the PCB Management Committee Mr Najam Sethi on a social media platform and in a TV interview," the PCB said in a statement.

"The PCB believes former Chairman Mr Raja's comments are aimed at tarnishing and damaging the impeccable reputation of present Chairman Mr Sethi, adding it reserves it's rights to pursue legal proceedings to protect and defend the image and credibility of its Chairman and the institution."

As per Ramiz Raja, he wasn't even allowed to collect his belongings from the board office after he got sacked - the information which even he received in the wee hours before all of this unfolded. On Monday, while revealing what went behind the curtains, Raja said, "Najam Sethi tweets at 2 in the night that Ramiz Raja is out. Is this respect for a former captain? I was not even allowed to go to the office and collect my belongings. The morning after the announcement was made to remove me, they were around 17 people running all over the PCB offices as if they owned it," Raja said on his YouTube channel.

"It was as if I had committed some crime and I would take some incriminating evidence from my office. What tamasha is this? These people have just come to enjoy themselves and get the publicity... they know nothing about cricket." The former batter further said that one shouldn't expect anything good for Pakistan cricket with the new committee in power,&nbsp;while looking disappointed and frustrated over this episode.

Speaking further on this, Raja admitted&nbsp;he knew why he got sacked all of a sudden. A&nbsp;World Cup winner himself, Raja was elected as the board's chairman in 2021 and was slated to stay in power for three years, however, none of that happened.

"What happened to me is just political victimisation and vendetta only because I was appointed by the opposition party although I have no political links with anyone. I was appointed on the basis&nbsp;of&nbsp;my cricket and administrative credentials," Ramiz Raja said.&nbsp;

Hence, he confirmed that a neutral venue will once again host the Asia Cup, as was the case during this year's edition (held in the UAE with eventful winners Sri Lanka as hosts).&nbsp;

Since then, Pakistan's former cricketers and even their board PCB have strongly reacted to the ACC chief's claims. Now, veteran keeper-batter Kamran Akmal also joined the bandwagon and has even suggested Team Pakistan to boycott India at all levels, including the upcoming T20 World Cup clash on October 23 (Sunday) at the MCG, Melbourne.

The statement added, "The overall impact of such statements have the potential to split the Asian and international cricketing communities, and can impact Pakistan’s visit to India for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 and future ICC Events in India in the 2024-2031 cycle.

“The PCB has to date not received any official communication or clarification from the ACC on the statement of the ACC President.
