Opening up on his love for bouncers, Akhtar said he used to bowl them to make batters dance like monkeys. "I bowled bouncers because watching batters jump like monkeys was heartening to see. Not going to lie, I wanted to hit batters on the head as I had the pace. This is the perk of being a fast bowler, it simply has to happen," Akhtar said on Sportskeeda.

Further elaborating on his obsession with bouncers, Akhtar said he used them to terrorise the batters as he believed a batter should remember him while watching himself in the mirror after being hit by the Rawalpindi Express during a game.

"The adrenaline rush is there, the hair is flying, the heartbeat is 185+, you would surely not bowl fuller. It should hit on the body, aalu dikhe jism pe (swelling should be seen on the body). Whenever the batter sees himself in the mirror, he should remember me. This is true love," said the legendary pacer.

Former Pakistan pacer Tanvir Ahmed has lashed out at Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Ramiz Raja over his decision to launch the Pakistan Junior League. The Pakistan Junior League will be a mini version of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) for the U-19 cricketers in Pakistan. The tournament is also being referred to as Junior PSL in the country.

The Pakistan Junior League will feature six teams and a total of 19 games. The inaugural edition of the tournament is set to be played in October this year, as confirmed by the PCB. While PCB is looking at the Pakistan Junior League as a platform to identify budding talents in the country, it will also be a new revenue source for the board.

Zakir Khan, the PCB Director - International, is looking forward to the upcoming series which was postponed in July 2020 due to the Covid-19 outbreak. 
 
"We are pleased that with the support of the Koninklijke Nederlandse Cricket Bond (KNCB), we have been able to reschedule the series, which is important to the growth and development of cricket in Netherlands as well as to the two teams` chances of progressing directly to the 2023 World Cup," said Zakir in a PCB statement. 
 
"Our men`s national cricket team had an excellent 2021-22 season and I am confident they will build on the momentum to entertain expat Pakistanis and the Dutch spectators with good cricket. This series will also help KNCB attract new and young audiences towards the game," he added.

Ramiz, who like Imran is also a former Pakistan captain, is presently in Dubai for the International Cricket Council (ICC) meetings which concluded on Sunday.

"Ramiz had only agreed to become the chairman of the Board on the insistence of Imran for whom all the players who played under his captaincy including Ramiz have a lot of regard and respect,"&nbsp;a source well aware of the developments said on Sunday.

"Ramiz was well set in a career as commentator, TV personality and expert and was busy with assignments. But on Imran's insistence he agreed to put aside all his media contacts and become chairman of the board,"&nbsp;the source said.

"Abdullah is passionate about playing cricket. But, I don't want him to become a cricketer," Sarfaraz was quoted as saying to a news channel by Cricket Pakistan.&nbsp;

"Actually, being a cricketer, I suffered many things that I don't want Abdullah to face. It's human nature. Being a cricketer, I want my brother or son to be selected immediately. Otherwise, it hurts," he explained.

Babar Azam left the commentators and fans on social media in splits as he celebrated his century while still batting on 99 during the 2nd ODI between Pakistan and Australia on Friday. Chasing a massive target of 349 runs, Pakistan rode on centuries from Babar and Imam-ul-Haq to win the game by six wickets and level the three-match series 1-1.

During Pakistan's run-chase, Babar was seen celebrating passionately on the third ball of the 41st over when he thought he had completed his 15th ODI ton. However, there were no cheers from the crowd as the Pakistan skipper didn't realise he was still one run short of completing his century.

Babar was still on 99 when he hilariously ended up celebrating his hundred leaving the commentators in splits. The Pakistan captain later realised his error in judgement and celebrated once again when he completed his century in the same over. The incident left even the players in splits and Babar too was spotted smiling over the gaffe.

It was a brilliant batting display from Pakistan during the run-chase as the hosts bounced back to winning ways in the second ODI after losing the series-opener by 88 runs earlier this week. Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has slammed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Babar Azam-ed Pakistan cricket team after their shambolic defeat against Australia in the final third Test of the three-match series at the Gadaffi Stadium in Lahore on Friday (March 25). Australia skittled out Pakistan for 235 runs in their second innings to win the game by 115 runs and clinch the series 1-0.

Skipper Cummins led the charge as the Australian bowlers ran through the Pakistan batting line-up in the final session on Day 5 of the Lahore Test. Cummins picked up the important wickets of Fawad Alam and Mohammad Rizwan to finish with three wickets to his name while spinner Nathan Lyon bagged a five-wicket haul.&nbsp;

Akhtar lashed out at the Pakistan team management and the PCB for their defensive mindset. He also criticised PCB's move to create flat pitches for the series which ended up backfiring for the hosts. The former Pakistan pacer was all praise for Cummins and the Australian team for being brave and putting up a fight in the series.

"Absolutely disappointing series, this. Absolute nonsense. The mindset of both, the Pakistan Cricket Board and probably the team management was to draw this series. Neither should they win, nor us; just end this series in a draw," Akhtar said in a video on his official YouTube channel.
