With the help of some OGWs in Pahalgam, they did a recce of all the tourist places of Pahalgam like Aru Valley, Betaab Valley, Amusement Park and Baisaran Valley. In this recce, two local terrorists and five OGWs were involved and were roaming in Pahalgam for about a week.
They initially planned to attack in the Betaab valley, but it was difficult to escape from there because of the movement of security forces around. Something similar happened with the Aru valley which is after the desperate valley and they reached the Baisaran tourist spot.
There were a total of four terrorists, who killed 26 people in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam last week. Two among them were wearing camouflage and the other two were in civilian dress. The sources also revealed that only three terrorists came inside the Baisaran meadow and the fourth one was giving cover fire.
Moreover, a senior Army source said that there were reports that "some suspicious persons had visited some hotels in Pahalgam...(We) were gathering clues as there was no specific information about attacks on tourists."
Army officials said the infiltrators in Pir Panjal mountains in south Kashmir were using several apps for navigation and communication "that can store data online and later use it offline as well", as per WION sources.

A team of about 45 NIA officials has been put on the terror attack case of Pahalgam. Two teams of FSL and security forces are camping in the area while the 3D mapping is being done.
Security forces are carrying out a massive combing operation on the tenth day of the attack. Intensified search operations are being carried out in Pahalgam, Kokernag, Anantnag, Dachigam forest areas. Security forces say that around a dozen over the ground workers(OGW'S) were involved in helping the terrorists carry out the attack. According to sources, these OGW's facilitated the entry and exit of the terrorists and also had done a recce of the area.

Some of the eyewitnesses have said that four terrorists were involved in the attack while only three of them came inside the meadow while the fourth was outside the fence keeping a cover. Two of the terrorists were wearing army camouflage uniforms. According to sources in the investigation agency, the terrorists had done a recce of all the tourist points of Pahalgam like Aaru Valley, Betaab Valley and Baisaran. Sources say the terrorists had earlier planned to target Betaab Valley, but at the last moment they changed the plan and decided on Baisaran. It was chosen as they could flee from the spot easily.
At least 65 foreign and 14 local terrorists are active in the Kashmir valley. The terrorists keep moving from south of Kashmir to north of Kashmir through the mountains from the Pir Panjal range to Shamsawari range.
According to security sources, the Pakistani handlers were desperate to attack any tourist spot in Kashmir. At first, they had chosen Gulmarg, a ski resort close to the Line of Control in Baramulla district. Gulmarg is around 50 km from Srinagar.
A top security official said that right after the winter, there were reports of "suspicious movement in Gulmarg" in late March. He said forces had deployed at least two "anti-fidayeen squads" in both Tangmarg and Gulmarg. This was a precautionary measure as Gulmarg had come into the limelight due to fashion shows in winter," he added.

'A plate of Maggi, a flick of her hair': How a Karnataka family survived Pahalgam terror attack, thanks to child’s hunger

Pakistan's Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said on Wednesday night (April 30) that the country has "credible intelligence" that India intends to launch a military strike "within the next 24 to 36 hours." The remarks came amid tensions between the two nuclear-armed nations after the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 Indian men on April 22. Pakistan claimed it had no role and called for a neutral investigation into the attack. India has unleashed a raft of measures against Pakistan, including the abeyance of the Indus Waters Treaty. In response, Pakistan closed its airspace to Indian airlines.

Pahalgam terror attack: Pakistan minister says Indian military strike 'within 24-36 hours'

World championship medallist boxer Gaurav Bidhuri made a scathing response to former Pakistan cricket captain Shahid Afridi, whose statement on the Pahalgam terror attack has left many Indians enraged.
Speaking on Samaa TV in Pakistan, Afridi reacted to the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir, saying even if a cracker bursts in that part of the country, everyone starts blaming Pakistan for it, adding that India has deployed over 800,000 soldiers there. Despite that, if an attack happens on their soil, then their armed forces should be blamed for that, calling them ineffective and useless.
Bidhuri, who had won a bronze medal at the 2017 World Boxing Championships held in Germany, came to the defense of the Indian Army and compared the situation of sporting events in the two nations using the example of the Indian Premier League and the Pakistan Super League.

Pahalgam terror attack | 'You've obviously gone crazy but world knows what Pakistan is': Indian boxer Bidhuri gives fiery reply to Afridi

A Pune-based man has claimed that he has video of the terrorists in Pahalgam's Baisaran valley that he accidentally captured while filming his daughter's reel. He has shared the video with the National Investigative Agency (NIA) for probe, he said.
In the video, a child can be seen dancing when two men - who allegedly carried out the attack - were seen. The man claimed that he identified the men after J&K Police released their sketches and decided to share the evidence with the investigative agencies. The Pune man has identified himself as social activist Sreejit Rameshan, who along with his family went on a tour to Pahalgam but fortunately, returned before the fatal attack happened.
“We started receiving frantic calls and messages from worried friends and relatives,” Rameshan told Punekar News. He added that the video was captured at 02:38 pm on April 18. He further claimed that the men in his video are similar to the sketches released by the administration. "The resemblance was unmistakable." He sent the video to NIA demanding a thorough verification “purely in the interest of national safety”.

Pahalgam terror attack and fallout of India-Pakistan ties

A terror attack on April 22 in Baisaran Valley of Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam district killed 26 tourists. An offshoot of the banned Pakistan-based terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) - The Resistance Front (TRF) - claimed responsibility for the attack. However, they retracted their statement on April 26, claiming that its social media was compromised. However, the Indian government launched a massive crackdown against the terrorists and released sketches of three terrorists who were responsible for the attack. As per J&K Police, two terrorists involved in the attack were Pakistani nationals and the third, was a resident of Anantnag in Kashmir. His home along with the homes of several other terrorists, have been demolished.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "I say to the whole world. India will identify, track and punish every terrorist and their backers. We will pursue them to the ends of the earth."

A Pune-based man has claimed that he has video of the terrorists in Pahalgam's Baisaran valley that he accidentally captured while filming his daughter's reel.

Morning news brief: Pakistan inadvertently admits backing Lashkar proxy TRF; UK govt snubs BBC, and more

The UK government on Wednesday said that it supports India in bringing perpetrators to justice as the UK's Parliament discussed the horrific terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. It also called for calm and dialogue between India and Pakistan at a time of heightened tensions in the region. The discussions in the UK's Parliament were held for 45 minutes after British Sikh Labour MP Gurinder Singh Josan tabled an “Urgent Question” in the House of Commons.
Singh asked about the role Britain is playing in supporting India in bringing the perpetrators to justice. Foreign Office Minister Hamish Falconer responded by saying “The horrific terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir on 22 April was devastating… We call on all sides, all community leaders and all involved to call for calm at a time of tension in the region...We want to see the perpetrators held to justice properly, and we will be supporting India to do so,” said Falconer.
Falconer was also asked to address the BBC’s reference to the attack as “militancy”, to which he responded: “I resist calls for ministers to police the BBC’s language too much, but let me be clear: this was a horrific terrorist attack, and that is the view of the British government.”

British Conservative MP Bob Blackman condemned the attack and called on the UK government to provide full support to India in its fight against cross-border terrorism. Blackman described the 22 April terror attack as “well organised and coordinated”. “The sad reality is this: whilst the government may give expressions of condolences and support for the people of India, the fact remains that the terrorist bases that exist in the part of Kashmir, illegally occupied by Pakistan."
Earlier on April 25, Blackman addressed an event at India House and backed India for any steps it takes to pursue justice. “I would strongly support whatever India does to pursue the terrorists and those who have backed the terrorists, make sure they are brought to justice. If they can't be brought to justice, they must be eliminated,” he had said.
Labour Party MP Catherine West who is also Minister for the Indo-Pacific, said the UK “stands shoulder to shoulder with India in the face of the cowardly attacks of terrorism against innocent civilians.” Another Labour MP Barry Gardiner urged a tougher stance on Pakistan and asked: “Is it not time to make the support we give to Pakistan conditional on them finally closing down the terrorist training camps that they harbour?”
Meanwhile, India’s High Commissioner to the UK, Vikram Doraiswami, condemned the attack as a deliberate act aimed at disrupting normal life in Jammu and Kashmir. “This is the largest killing of civilians since the Mumbai terror attacks,” he said. “People were pulled out, identified on the basis of their religious identity and shot dead... The purpose of this exercise was purely to create terror and to undermine the ongoing normalisation of circumstances in Jammu and Kashmir. We will never forget, we will never forgive, and we will exact a punishment.”

Falconer was also asked to address the BBC’s reference to the attack as “militancy”, to which he responded: “I resist calls for ministers to police the BBC’s language too much, but let me be clear: this was a horrific terrorist attack, and that is the view of the British government.” Read More | Islamabad's big admission as Deputy PM Ishaq Dar says Pakistan bails out Lashkar-e-Taiba proxy TRF at UNSC Conservative and Labour MPs support India Both Conservative and Labour MPs overwhelmingly supported India and called for justice. Pahalgam attack: Countdown to retaliation begins

Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, currently behind bars after conviction on corruption charges, has reacted to the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which killed 26 unarmed, innocent civilians, most of them tourists. However, Khan stopped short of condemning the brutal act and instead tried to draw political mileage from the tragedy.

Avoids blaming terror, targets Indian Government instead

In his first reaction to the horrific terror attack, on Tuesday (29 April), the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader called the incident “deeply disturbing and tragic,” yet chose not to denounce the terrorists responsible. Instead, he tried to divert attention by reviving old narratives, calling the 2019 Pulwama attack a “false flag” operation, and trying to pin the blame on the Indian government.

“The state’s excessive focus on political victimisation at this critical time is deepening internal divisions and undermining the nation’s collective ability to confront external threats,” he added.

“It is naive to expect any strong stance from self-serving figures like Nawaz Sharif and Asif Zardari. They will never speak out against India because their illegal wealth and business interests lie abroad,” Khan claimed.
“They profit from foreign investments, and to protect those financial interests, they remain silent in the face of foreign aggression and baseless allegations against Pakistan. Their fear is simple, that Indian lobbies might freeze their offshore assets if they dare to speak the truth,” he added.

Breaking | Pahalgam terror attack: Pakistan in crosshairs as India's military gets green light

Guyana High Commissioner Dharamkumar Seeraj has extended his country's support to India in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack. Speaking to WION's Sidhant Sibal, he said Guyana President Ali 'supports India in whatever moves they are going to make to ensure that the perpetrators of this terrorist attack that they are brought to justice'.
He pointed to briefings by Indian side in the aftermath of the terror attack in which 'name of Pakistan was mentioned'.
Guyana is a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, & its stance is key to any diplomatic activity at the top UN body. It is believed that Pakistan, which is also a non-permanent member of UNSC can rake anti India issues at the top UN body.
Asked, if Guyana would support India at the UN, the High Commissioner said, 'if India proposed any measures to address terrorism, to make moves and to make suggestions that will target terrorists and terroristic attacks. I'm certain that Guyana, as a country, the government and people of Guyana will support any move'.

Full interview

Sidhant Sibal: Your first reaction to the terror attack that happened in India
Dharamkumar Seeraj: Like everyone else in the world, and especially the people of India and the people of Guyana, the reaction was, of course, one of terror, one of surprise, one of outrage that such a thing could again occur in this modern day. Our President has also expressed his concerns, his regrets and his sympathy with the government and people of India, and he has also stated very clearly that he supports the justice, and he supports India in whatever moves they are going to make to ensure that the perpetrators of this terrorist attack that they are brought to justice.

Sidhant Sibal: So what is the Guyanese position in terms of the issue of terrorism?
Dharamkumar Seeraj: You know, in that part of the world, in the West Indies, in South America and the Caribbean especially, we are not exposed. The general population is not exposed to this kind of brutal, heinous terrorist attacks. You know, for us, there's the usual robbery, some amount of violence. So to the extent that we are not exposed, our population generally have a muted response. But the government of Guyana, they're very much aware of what is taking place, and especially people in foreign missions. And India has had a more than its fair share of terrorist attack over the years, and that is why you know, when you come to India, you are made aware of the response, by the way, of the security checks at different levels, at the airport, coming in, going into your hotels, along the highways, at various embassies and so on. It is senseless that you how you can go and murder innocent people. You know, these things don't happen in our part of the world.
Sidhant Sibal: What will be Guyanese position, will they be supporting India?
Dharamkumar Seeraj: It's a matter of who is pro humanity, who is pro peace, who wants to get rid of extremism. So Guyana will support any move made by any country to address the elimination of this kind of terroristic attacks. So we pro peace, we pro dialog, we pro diplomacy in terms of getting all issues resolved, all conflicts resolve. And we as a country, as a nation, as a people, we against any form of terrorism, any form of terroristic attack, whether it's for religious gains, whether it's for territories, whether it's for sovereignty and all of that. So it's a matter of the principle itself. It's not a matter of country. And if India proposed any measures to address terrorism, to make moves and to make suggestions that will target terrorists and terroristic attacks. I'm certain that Guyana, as a country, the government and people of Guyana will support any move that will go to targeting terrorist and terroristic attacks.

Sidhant Sibal: Has there been any conversation between the Guyanese side and the Indian side, particularly when it comes to Pahalgam terror attack?
Dharamkumar Seeraj: Well, we have had a briefing, high commission of Guyana, along with several other missions, especially in the Caribbean and Latin America, by the Secretary east and joint secretary. So, we were brought up to speed, up to date with the reports and what is being done, and to the extent that we were briefed, that's the extent we give our support. I cannot say whether at President level and the Prime Minister of India level, if there have been further talks, but at our level, at the high Commissioner's level, at the ambassador's level, and at the level with the Joint Secretary and Secretary all the briefing that we have received, we asked some questions, we asked for updates, and of course, we gave our support for any action that will seek to find these terrorists and bring them to justice.
Sidhant Sibal: And India has been very vocal about the issue of terrorism from Pakistan. Was that also part of the conversation because India has already referred in its statement. So, any specific emphasis on that part?
Dharamkumar Seeraj: Well, we were told that they're examining links and at the briefing with the secretary east, and they are looking to identify the terrorists, and I specifically asked the question that we were told also that facial recognition was 100% for two and I specifically asked the questions that, if you have recognized two of these terrorists, have you been able to link them in it to any terror organization? Have you been able to link them to any country, and because this will give you an insight as to where they're operating from, which organisation they belong to, if they do belong to any organisation. And the question is that these are ongoing investigations that will probably yield more concrete results as time go by. So obviously the name of Pakistan was mentioned because the place where this thing happened, you have some amount of ease in those territories. And of course, it's border with Pakistan. So, we understand and appreciate fully well that there will be speculation that you have terrorists' cross border. And once you avail of yourself concrete evidence that these terrorists are linked to any organisation and they are operating within which country, well then, we'll deal with the evidence as they present themselves.
Sidhant Sibal: If India acts on these terror groups, terror groups which India believes are based in Pakistan or Pok will you respect India's right to defence or self-defence?
Dharamkumar Seeraj: we respect every country's right for the protection of the citizen, for the protection of their sovereignty, the protection of their borders, and every country will take steps to ensure that their people are protected, their borders are protected, and they will determine, based on the circumstances, at that particular point in time what action will be taken to protect the people and to protect the country.

Asked, if Guyana would support India at the UN, the High Commissioner said, 'if India proposed any measures to address terrorism, to make moves and to make suggestions that will target terrorists and terroristic attacks.' World | India News

Full interview Sidhant Sibal: Your first reaction to the terror attack that happened in India Dharamkumar Seeraj: Like everyone else in the world, and especially the people of India and the people of Guyana, the reaction was, of course, one of terror, one of surprise, one of outrage that such a thing could again occur in this modern day. Our President has also expressed his concerns, his regrets and his sympathy with the government and people of India, and he has also stated very clearly that he supports the justice, and he supports India in whatever moves they are going to make to ensure that the perpetrators of this terrorist attack that they are brought to justice.
