In the capital, the water of the Yamuna River has come onto the roads breaking all-time records. Yamuna water level breached the danger marks of 205.33m and reached 208.48m on Thursday morning. The water level is expected to rise even further, and hence, the Delhi NCR administrations have announced closure of schools.&nbsp;

The district administration of Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh also announced holidays in all schools till July 15. Amid the heavy rainfall and water logging issues, the District Magistrate has also issued an advisory for the local people.

Before the Noida school closure, the Delhi government announced the closure of schools, colleges and universities. After a meeting of the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), the decision was announced.&nbsp;

As per the orders, except for all government offices providing essential services, staff of all other government offices will work from home till Sunday and employees of private offices are also advised to work from home till Sunday.&nbsp;

As per the Central Water Commission, the Yamuna water level reached 208.48 metres at 8:00 am on July 14. The Delhi Police has also imposed section 144 of CrPC as a precautionary measure in the flood-prone areas in Delhi.&nbsp;

Delhi Traffic Police urged commuters to avoid the Ring Road stretch between Monastery and ISBT, Kashmere Gate, saying the traffic has been affected due to the overflowing Yamuna River. It also asked commuters to avoid the Ring Road stretch near the IP flyover from Rajghat to Nizamuddin carriageway as overflowing sewer water has affected the traffic.

A private school teacher in Noida was terminated after she “symbolically” cut the hair of her students in disciplinary action against them. The incident happened on Wednesday at Shanti International School located in Sector 168. Police took action following the protest staged by wards’ enraged parents on Thursday.

“Today police were informed about the matter and officials from the local Expressway police station reached the Shanti International School, taking note of the seriousness of the matter. The school management and parents of around 12 students talked the matter out. The school then decided to terminate the services of the teacher immediately,” Additional DCP (Noida) Shakti Mohan Avasthy said.

According to the police, the teacher was disciplinary in-charge of the school and had been asking the students to get their hair trimmed for several days, but in vain. She later cut their hair to discipline them.&nbsp;

Later, the school management and parents of the students talked the matter out, Avasthi said. No case, however, was registered as the school and parents resolved the dispute and the parents had decided not to press charges.

<h2>Not a first such incident</h2>

This is not the first time that teachers have used such drastic methods of punishing students. In March last year, a similar incident was reported from a school in Uttar Pradesh’s Hapur where the principal gave a haircut to 84 students with long hair from Class 9 to 12 during the morning assembly.&nbsp;

Rajesh Yadav, the principal of the Marwar Inter College School in Hapur, allegedly made the 84 students in a separate line and asked them to sit on their knees before chopping off their hair as a "punishment for breaking school rules". 
In the past, child rights bodies in many states have called for an end to such “punishments” and pointed out that public humiliation can negatively impact students’ mental well-being.&nbsp;

India: Four arrested in UP's Noida for cutting cake, bursting crackers on elevated road

In one of the bizarre stories of the day, a man presumed dead by his family in the eastern Indian state of Bihar was found alive, eating momos in the northern Indian city of Noida in Uttar Pradesh.&nbsp;

The man named Nishant Kumar hailed from the Bhagalpur district of Bihar. He mysteriously went missing on 31 January, 2023, after which his father&nbsp;Sachidanand Singh lodged a complaint at the&nbsp;Sultanganj police station. In the complaint, the father accused Nishant's brother-in-law Ravi Shankar Singh and father-in-law&nbsp;Naveen Singh of torturing and kidnapping him.&nbsp;

However, as fate would have it,&nbsp;Ravi was the one who&nbsp;spotted Nishant in Noida and solved the mystery. Ravi was at a shop selling momos in Noida's sector 50 when he saw one of the shopkeepers berating a beggar.&nbsp;The beggar was asking for food, saying he was hungry.&nbsp;

Seeing the miserable condition of the beggar who sported a long dingy beard and wore tattered clothes, Ravi felt sorry and&nbsp;approached the shopkeeper whilst offering&nbsp;to pay for the momos for the beggar. However, no sooner did Ravi ask the beggar his name, than the mystery of Nishant's mysterious disappearance unravelled itself.&nbsp;

Ravi, meanwhile, was a relieved man. After months of facing accusations and abuses from the family, he finally had closure. According to Ravi, his elder uncle passed away in shock because of the serious charges levelled by Nishant's family.&nbsp;

“Now there is a hope that we will get justice from the court and whoever is guilty in this case, the court will take legal action against him,” Ravi Shankar was quoted as saying.

This is not the first instance where a person presumed dead by a family has turned up alive and well. In UP, a woman declared dead seven years was found alive and married to another person. Meanwhile, a man, related to the woman was rotting behind bars on 'murder' charges.

The woman had eloped with her lover and got married and shifted to another district in the state. The man named Vishnu was caught, charged with a false murder case, convicted and even sentenced to seven years in prison.&nbsp;

Indian man believed to be dead, found eating momos in another state

Elon Musk, Gautam Adani, India’s top ministers and leading global investors, all under one roof in India’s national capital region: what more does a startup founder need? Such was the promise of the “The World Startup Convention” that over 100,000 fund-seekers worldwide applied for registration. Luke Talwar, the event's co-founder, declared in December it would be the world’s biggest funding festival with the target of raising investments worth more than INR 100,000 crore [or $12 billion]. The three-day event was supposed to be held at the Expo Mart located at Knowledge Park in Greater Noida, on the outskirts of the Indian capital New Delhi, &nbsp;from March 24th. 
&nbsp; 
Sohil Shah, the founder of Spreadd.io, a Dubai-based ‘Decentralised Creator Economy’ company, decided not to squander away this godsent opportunity to raise funds. He discussed the idea with his colleague Sayan Sapui and declared that he will be flying his entire team to Noida to pitch to investors. Sayan surfed the web to know more about the event and his findings really made an impression.

The homepage of the official website of the World Startup Convention featured top Indian officials including Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari and Chief Minister of India’s northern state of Uttarakhand Pushkar Singh Dhami.

The icing on the cake were promotional messages from India’s top influencers. Ankur Warikoo, Chetan Bhagat, MBA Chaiwala and Raj Shamani, all of them were singing the praises of the event.

In his message, Warikoo can be seen saying, “1,500 VCs [venture capitalists], 9,000 angel investors, India’s leading banks and 75,000+startups will be present at the event.” Raj Shamani, in his message, recommended founders to book passes and turn their startup dream into reality. 
&nbsp;&nbsp; 
Luke Talwar and Arjun Chaudhary, the founders of ‘World Startup Convention’, also hinted that eminent personalities like Elon Musk (CEO of Tesla), Gautam Adani (Founder &amp; Chairman of Adani Group), Sheikh Hamdan (Crown Prince of Dubai) and Sundar Pichai (CEO of Google) will attend the mega event. Interestingly, they all were referred to as “special invitees” and not “attendees” in posters used for event promotion.

“Having seen a few ads of the event myself featuring a few of India’s top influencers, I agreed to go,” Sayan told WION. But within days, when Sayan’s colleagues at spreadd.io dug more into the event and history of its founders, their perception of World Startup Convention dramatically changed. “After research by one of our team members named Nikunj Kachhiya, he realised that this company organised some events like this before too and the participants left some negative tweets and reviews about them,” Sayan said. 
&nbsp; 
Eventually, Sayan and his colleagues decided against going to the event.

<h2>Stuff hits the fan</h2>

But many others, including Vaibhav Anant from Bambrew, gave their all to secure funding at the event. Team Bambrew “invested over 50 lac [five million] rupees” to make their presence felt at the World Startup Convention, according to a <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMNxl3lGCVE">statement </a>by Anant. 
&nbsp; 
But the turnaround of events that took place on 24th March stirred a massive uproar in India’s entrepreneurial community. What was supposed to be the world’s biggest startup funding festival turned out to be “India’s biggest startup scam.” 
&nbsp; 
“There were only 70 founders present at the event, and no good investor,” Anant said. 
&nbsp; 
In no time, the founders realised they had been scammed out of their hard-earned money. 
&nbsp; 
What came hot on the heels was a clash between founders and organisers. Some founders climbed on the stage and demanded compensation. Police had to be called in. 
&nbsp; 
“Apparently, standing on the World Startup Convention stage in Noida are not the investors from Sequoia or Accel, but cops from the Uttar Pradesh Police,” wrote Rajan Singh, CEO of HabitStrong, on LinkedIn. 
&nbsp; 
“We had very high hopes. This was the biggest investment we made in a convention like this, and we are devastated to the core,” Vaibhav Anant said. “Nobody is going to believe the idea of such a convention like this in future, even if it is genuine,” Anant said in a video message. 
&nbsp; 
Disgruntled founders are now planning to take legal action against the organisers and the influencers who promoted this fake event. 
&nbsp; 
“The World Startup Convention has affected a few of our startups. Apart from monetary, there has been a huge loss of trust and morale. We are trying to take collective legal action against the organisers,” wrote Vandana Rungta, co-founder of WerFunds Pvt Ltd, on social media.&nbsp;

<h2>Role of the influencers</h2>

&nbsp;All the influencers who spoke about the event have played their part in promoting this scam. And for that reason, the founders are slamming these influencers too. “Ankur Warikoo, I was your fan and looked up to you as a founder. I have now lost every bit of trust. It will be so so difficult to even trust anyone now,” Vaibhav Anant wrote on LinkedIn 
&nbsp; 
But, how did the influencers get it all wrong? 
&nbsp; 
“I believe where it all went wrong is that the Influencers’ manager or managing team was approached by the brand and they agreed to do it with little to no background checks on the company,” Sayan Sapui told WION upon being asked the same question. 
&nbsp; 
“If they spent some time researching on the event company, their past events and whether there are any negative reviews on the internet, there could have been a chance they would have been able to save a lot of entrepreneurs from losing their money and time,” Sayan told further. 
&nbsp; 
But make no mistake, the carelessness shown by the influencers, in this case, does make a good court case. The Consumer Affairs Ministry of India clearly states it is the moral responsibility of the influencers to verify the authenticity of the product they are promoting. An influencer can be fined up to 5 million rupees in case of failure to comply with the guidelines. 
&nbsp; 
WION tried to reach Ankur Warikoo, MBA Chaiwala and Raj Shamani to know what they had to say in their defence. This is what Ankur Warikoo told WION:

“I am not involved in the conceptualising or organising of the event. We had done an Instagram collab reel on 19th January where I spoke about the importance of funding for a startup and how this event could be a good opportunity to explore the same and meet other founders.” 
&nbsp; 
“The terms of the collab were clear that my video will not be used for promoting the event. However, I realised that this was not respected. While they took down ads of the video when we asked them to, the video was and is still being used on their website and in all of their communication,” he said. 
&nbsp; 
“In January itself we distanced ourselves from the event. They repeatedly asked me to be present for the event, which we declined. As late as February, we had to keep sending them emails asking them to take down ads they were running to promote the event using my video,” he added.

Such was the promise of the “The World Startup Convention” that over 100,000 fund-seekers worldwide applied for registration. Luke Talwar, the event's co-founder, declared in December it would be the world’s biggest funding festival with the target of raising investments worth more than INR 100,000 crore [or $12 billion]. The three-day event was supposed to be held at the Expo Mart located at Knowledge Park in Greater Noida, on the outskirts of the Indian capital New Delhi, from March 24th. Sohil Shah, the founder of Spreadd.io, a Dubai-based ‘Decentralised Creator Economy’ company, decided not to squander away this godsent opportunity to raise funds. He discussed the idea with his colleague Sayan Sapui and declared that he will be flying his entire team to Noida to pitch to investors. Sayan surfed the web to know more about the event and his findings really made an impression. The homepage of the official website of the World Startup Convention featured top Indian officials including Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari and Chief Minister of India’s northern state of Uttarakhand Pushkar Singh Dhami. The icing on the cake were promotional messages from India’s top influencers. Ankur Warikoo, Chetan Bhagat, MBA Chaiwala and Raj Shamani, all of them were singing the praises of the event. In his message, Warikoo can be seen saying, “1,500 VCs [venture capitalists], 9,000 angel investors, India’s leading banks and 75,000+startups will be present at the event.” Raj Shamani, in his message, recommended founders to book passes and turn their startup dream into reality. Luke Talwar and Arjun Chaudhary, the founders of ‘World Startup Convention’, also hinted that eminent personalities like Elon Musk (CEO of Tesla), Gautam Adani (Founder & Chairman of Adani Group), Sheikh Hamdan (Crown Prince of Dubai) and Sundar Pichai (CEO of Google) will attend the mega event. Interestingly, they all were referred to as “special invitees” and not “attendees” in posters used for event promotion. “Having seen a few ads of the event myself featuring a few of India’s top influencers, I agreed to go,” Sayan told WION. But within days, when Sayan’s colleagues at spreadd.io dug more into the event and history of its founders, their perception of World Startup Convention dramatically changed. “After research by one of our team members named Nikunj Kachhiya, he realised that this company organised some events like this before too and the participants left some negative tweets and reviews about them,” Sayan said. Eventually, Sayan and his colleagues decided against going to the event. Stuff hits the fan But many others, including Vaibhav Anant from Bambrew, gave their all to secure funding at the event. Team Bambrew “invested over 50 lac [five million] rupees” to make their presence felt at the World Startup Convention, according to a statement by Anant. But the turnaround of events that took place on 24th March stirred a massive uproar in India’s entrepreneurial community. What was supposed to be the world’s biggest startup funding festival turned out to be “India’s biggest startup scam.” “There were only 70 founders present at the event, and no good investor,” Anant said. In no time, the founders realised they had been scammed out of their hard-earned money. What came hot on the heels was a clash between founders and organisers. Some founders climbed on the stage and demanded compensation. Police had to be called in. “Apparently, standing on the World Startup Convention stage in Noida are not the investors from Sequoia or Accel, but cops from the Uttar Pradesh Police,” wrote Rajan Singh, CEO of HabitStrong, on LinkedIn. “We had very high hopes. This was the biggest investment we made in a convention like this, and we are devastated to the core,” Vaibhav Anant said. “Nobody is going to believe the idea of such a convention like this in future, even if it is genuine,” Anant said in a video message. Disgruntled founders are now planning to take legal action against the organisers and the influencers who promoted this fake event. “The World Startup Convention has affected a few of our startups. Apart from monetary, there has been a huge loss of trust and morale. We are trying to take collective legal action against the organisers,” wrote Vandana Rungta, co-founder of WerFunds Pvt Ltd, on social media. Role of the influencers All the influencers who spoke about the event have played their part in promoting this scam. And for that reason, the founders are slamming these influencers too. “Ankur Warikoo, I was your fan and looked up to you as a founder. I have now lost every bit of trust. It will be so so difficult to even trust anyone now,” Vaibhav Anant wrote on LinkedIn But, how did the influencers get it all wrong? “I believe where it all went wrong is that the Influencers’ manager or managing team was approached by the brand and they agreed to do it with little to no background checks on the company,” Sayan Sapui told WION upon being asked the same question. “If they spent some time researching on the event company, their past events and whether there are any negative reviews on the internet, there could have been a chance they would have been able to save a lot of entrepreneurs from losing their money and time,” Sayan told further. But make no mistake, the carelessness shown by the influencers, in this case, does make a good court case. The Consumer Affairs Ministry of India clearly states it is the moral responsibility of the influencers to verify the authenticity of the product they are promoting. An influencer can be fined up to 5 million rupees in case of failure to comply with the guidelines. WION tried to reach Ankur Warikoo, MBA Chaiwala and Raj Shamani to know what they had to say in their defence. This is what Ankur Warikoo told WION: “I am not involved in the conceptualising or organising of the event. We had done an Instagram collab reel on 19th January where I spoke about the importance of funding for a startup and how this event could be a good opportunity to explore the same and meet other founders.” “The terms of the collab were clear that my video will not be used for promoting the event. However, I realised that this was not respected. While they took down ads of the video when we asked them to, the video was and is still being used on their website and in all of their communication,” he said. “In January itself we distanced ourselves from the event. They repeatedly asked me to be present for the event, which we declined. As late as February, we had to keep sending them emails asking them to take down ads they were running to promote the event using my video,” he added. “It is really tragic to see how the event eventually ended up. The 66-year-old con man was nabbed by the Odisha police for his wrongdoings while he was travelling in a car in the Indian city of Bhubaneswar.&nbsp;

One day, the man told the woman that he was stressed. Tapping the iron when it's hot, she told the man about his Instagram page and claimed to be a wellness therapist. Throughout the lockdown imposed due to Covid-19, the man took wellness therapy classes through Instagram. He even paid the woman Rs 3.15 lakh. Later, the man insisted on meeting her but she refused and then blocked him. The man later found that the woman had as many as 15 social media profiles. He&nbsp;finally took the matter&nbsp;to court and filed a case against the woman. As per media reports, the Karnataka High Court recently refused to quash the cheating case filed against the woman.

Amid a rise in pet canine attacks, several cities in India have brought in strict regulations that seek to punish owners if any such incident take place.

Cities near the national capital Delhi — Gurugram, Noida and Ghaziabad — have of late seen a spate of incidents of pet dogs randomly attacking passers-by, and in some cases the owners.

This has prompted the authorities to impose tough measures to deter such incidents. While Gurugram and Ghaziabad have banned 11 foreign dog breeds as pets, Noida has released a list of actions to be taken, including a Rs 10,000 ($124) fine.

On Tuesday, the District Consumer Dispute Redressal Forum ordered the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) to ban 11 foreign breeds, and ordered to cancel the registration granted to such banned dog breeds and take them into its custody.

The other directions also include mandatory metal chains, tokens for all dogs, and one family allowed to keep only one dog as a pet.

The order, which took effect from November 15, has banned American Pit-bull terriers, Dogo Argentino, Rottweiler, Neapolitan mastiff, Boerboel, Presa Canario, Wolf dog, Bandog, American Bulldog, Fila Brasileiro and Cane Corso.

The Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation (GMC) has also banned Pit Bull, Rottweiler and Dogo Argentino breeds as pets.

"The three breeds -- Pit Bull, Rottweiler and Dogo Argentino -- are ferocious, and no permission will be granted to keep these dogs. No licence will be issued. If somebody buys one of these, he/she will be responsible. All these three breeds have been banned in Ghaziabad," BJP leader and GMC councillor Sanjay Singh told PTI news agency.

The civic authorities in Noida have issued new regulations making anti-rabies vaccination of pet dogs mandatory, and a fine of Rs 10,000 to be recovered from owners if their pet dogs attack anyone. They would also have to bear the hospital cost of the victim.

The demolitions are set to take place at 2:30 pm with the authorities rigging the structure with around 3,700 kg of explosives. With 20,000 circuits set for the demolition, the project engineer said that the entire process should take nine seconds to complete. The authorities have also evacuated the nearby areas so that they are not affected by the explosion and rubble.

In 2012, the residents of the Supertech Emerald Court society had filed a legal complaint when the towers were first approved. The residents complained that there were irregularities when it comes to the construction and the Allahabad High Court agreed with them in 2014. The demolition was ordered that year and in 2021, the court once again asked the authorities to carry out the order.

According to the engineer, the dust resulting from the explosion should take around 12 minutes to settle down, but the authorities have taken steps to improve the time. A special dust machine has been installed at the demolition site to monitor pollution levels after the demolition.

The resultant rubble can also become a problem for the residents of the area but the “waterfall method” will make sure that the rubble does not scatter in a big&nbsp;radius. According to estimates, it will take three months to clear it and transport it to the designated spots.

Mumbai-based company Edifice Engineering is in charge of the demolition and along with Central Building Research Institute and the Noida authorities, they have come up with a concrete plan to carry out the orders in a smooth way and order&nbsp;– ranging from damage control to evacuation procedures.

The nearby buildings have been covered by a special kind of material to stop the dust from entering and most residents have been evacuated. According to PTI, 7000 people were asked to move out and they will be allowed back into their residences by 5:30 pm on Sunday.

The traffic will also stay suspended in the area between 2:15 and 2:45 pm.

An office party turned into a tragedy after a 30-year-old man fell victim to a brawl that broke out at a bar in India’s northern Uttar Pradesh state.

According to reports, it all began when an argument ensued around 11 pm between the group and the staff over bill payment.

The argument turned into a minor scuffle following which bouncers were brought in.

But it only made the matter worse, as a fistfight now ensued between the group and the bouncers, during which the victim, Brajesh Rai, received fatal injuries on his head.

He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, but the doctors couldn’t save him as he was declared brought dead by the doctor.

After the Noida police were informed, a case was filed under section 302 (punishment for murder) of the Indian Penal Code and an investigation had been launched.

The police have taken eight people into custody after they analysed the CCTV footage, according to media reports.

“A man was killed last night in Garden Galleria Mall, Noida. Some people got into a fight with bar staff during which one person was severely injured. He was taken to hospital, where doctors declared him dead. FIR registered; bar staff is taken into custody,” news agency&nbsp;ANI&nbsp;quoted Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) Ranvijay Singh as saying.

Rai was a resident of Bihar’s Hasanpura village and had been staying in Noida for many years.

Gautam Buddh Nagar in western Uttar Pradesh adjoining Delhi is among the 15 districts in the state where hotspots (areas that have recorded multiple COVID-19 cases) of coronavirus cases have been sealed.

The 16 fresh cases were reported on Monday.This is the sharpest single day spike for the district where the first case was recorded on March 5, according to officials.

"On Monday, results of 244 samples were obtained of which 228 were negative and 16 positive. Total cumulative positive cases of coronavirus in Gautam Buddh Nagar so far is 80," district Surveillance Officer Sunil Dohare said in a statement on Monday night.

Thirteen patients have been cured, while another nine will be discharged on Tuesday, the officer said, adding that 58 people are undergoing treatment.

Of the 16 new cases, nine are reported from Sector 5 and 8 in Noida and linked to private firm Cease Fire, which is already under government scanner for triggering a chain of cases. An FIR was registered against the firm on March 29.

Three cases are related to Fortis Dialysis Unit, where a female paramedic staff had first got infected and now three more people linked to her have tested positive, said Narendra Bhooshan, officer-in charge for Covid-19 response in the district.

Two people, who had attended the Tablighi Jamaat congregation in Delhi's Nizamuddin in March and are from Kulesara village in Greater Noida, have also tested positive for coronavirus, Bhooshan said.

Apart from them, one person from Sector Eta 1 in Greater Noida, while one healthcare professional have tested positive for the novel virus, he added.

"All positive patients were already in quarantine and under observation from the last few days. Their condition is stable," Surveillance Officer Dohare said.

The Health Department stated that 119 test samples were collected on Monday.

Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal has appealed to the people of Delhi to maintain peace and calm. Tension simmered in the area after hundreds of anti-CAA protesters, mostly women, blocked a road near the Jaffrabad metro station in northeast Delhi on Sunday.&nbsp;

Several vehicles, shops and houses were torched, as clashes broke out between groups supporting and opposing the CAA in several areas in northeast Delhi.

A stretch of the road closed for over two months in Shaheen Bagh due to an anti-citizenship law protest was "opened" by a group of demonstrators on Saturday, only to be closed after some time, police said.

"Road number 9 in Shaheen Bagh was reopened by a group of protesters, but later it was closed by another group," Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southeast) R P Meena said.

Protestors claimed that they "opened" the stretch, which would allow passage to commuters between Noida and South Delhi, at around 5 pm near the protest site, but the Delhi police and the Noida police were continuing to barricade it from one side.

The road, which connects Noida to south-east Delhi and further to Faridabad in Haryana, was closed for traffic in the wake of the anti-Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) protest at Shaheen Bagh since December 15.

The development came after three days of talks between the Supreme Court-appointed interlocutors -- senior advocates Sanjay Hegde and Sadhana Ramachandran -- and the protesters over the issue of difficulty to commuters due to blocking of roads.

According to the police, the protesters briefly opened a small portion of a road leading to Kalindi Kunj so that locals can pass through it with their two-wheelers.

The Noida Traffic Police, however, also continued the restrictions on the Uttar Pradesh side of the road, an official told PTI.

"It was being alleged repeatedly that the protestors have blocked the Kalindi Kunj road, which leads to Noida Sector 37. So, today it was decided that this allegation has to be done away with and the route was opened," Sonu Warsi, a protestor, said.

"The decision was also taken to give a gift to the Supreme Court-appointed interlocutors, whose interaction and mediation has helped reopen the case. We have opened the road and it is now up to the Delhi Police and UP police to decide which vehicles they will allow," he added.

After the talks on Friday, Hegde had said the protesters, in principle, were not fundamentally against the opening of the non-protest side of the road if their security could be guaranteed in writing by the Delhi Police under suitable orders of the apex court.

"We will not be holding a public interaction tomorrow to enable the protesters to come to an independent conclusion as to the way forward. We will return on Sunday only if we deem it necessary and feasible to do so," he had said.&nbsp;

"Around Rs 1 crore 60 lakh would be given to the Forest Department. The department will give us a work plan for the trees to be planted," he added.

In November, Zurich Airport International AG was selected as the concessionaire for developing the Noida International Airport at Jewar in Uttar Pradesh.

The Switzerland-headquartered company made the highest per-passenger bid for the airport, outbidding competitors like Delhi International Airport Ltd, Adani Enterprises and Anchorage Infrastructure Investments Holdings Ltd, said Shailendra Bhatia of the project's nodal office.

The Jewar Airport or the Noida International Greenfield Airport will come up in the 5,000-hectare area when fully constructed and is estimated to cost Rs 29,560 crore, said Bhatia.

The first phase of the airport will be spread over 1,334 hectares and cost Rs 4,588 crore. It is expected to be completed by 2023.&nbsp;
