On September 4, a renowned free climber was spotted climbing The Shard, one of the tallest buildings in the United Kingdom, in front of stunned onlookers.

Adam Lockwood, 21, is known for climbing many of the world's tallest structures, and this time he climbed The Shard without any safety precautions. He then took a selfie at the top of the skyscraper at around 5 in the morning. Lockwood then uploaded a picture on his Facebook page later. He donned a headcam while standing 1,000 feet above London, bare-shirted and barefoot.

For any of his climbs, Lockwood doesn’t use shackles. His grasp and upper body strength are absolutely essential for his survival in these adventures, Times Now reported.

Witnesses uploaded videos and pictures on social media before they left the place.

After 45 minutes, the police and other emergency services were alerted to the location after hearing reports of the climber on The Shard.

Following the incident, Lockwood was arrested along with two other individuals. On suspicion of trespassing and creating a public disturbance, the two other people were arrested. The matter is still being looked at.

Rail passengers were required to change trains at the nearby London Bridge station as a result of the unpleasant incident that led to the cordoning off of the area around the base of The Shard.

Lockwood has previously garnered media attention by climbing a number of tall structures. He once pretended to be suspended from Milan’s San Siro Stadium’s rafters. He also tried several pull-ups from a high beam.

India's own Silicon Valley city Bengaluru is infamous for its dilapidated public transport system and shoddy infrastructure. Now, it has been revealed that the IT companies in the city lost over $28 million (Rs&nbsp;225 crore) in a single day on August 30&nbsp;as the employees remained stuck in traffic jams for over five hours.&nbsp;

Reportedly, the&nbsp;Outer Ring Road Companies Association (ORRCA) in a letter to state chief minister Basavaraj Bommai gave the estimate based on the flooding, caused by the monsoon rains which brought the city to a standstill.&nbsp;

“Flooding on ORR on August 30 has led to a loss of Rs 225 crore as staff were stuck on the road for more than 5 hours. Inadequate infrastructure on ORR has now reached a crisis level."&nbsp;

ORRCA further added that the traffic snarls were observed even as only 30 per cent of the total traffic on the ring road returned.&nbsp;

"Even though only 30 per cent&nbsp;of ORR population has returned to working from office, the collapse of the infrastructure has drawn global concern on the city of Bengaluru’s ability to handle further growth. Member companies have made a substantial investment on the ORR,” the letter read.

A new report has shone the light on the stark difference between cardiovascular diseases or heart diseases in men and women.&nbsp;

The American Heart Association (AHA) has released&nbsp;research warning that crucial indicators that a woman has or may develop heart disease in the future are frequently overlooked because they are more subtly displayed than in men.

Even though there is no proof that women develop heart disease later than men, according to the study, women are frequently diagnosed with it later in life than men, which suggests that when treatment begins they are likely in poorer shape and at a more advanced stage.

Daily Mail notes that earlier reports have also alleged that&nbsp;women's medical complaints are frequently not given the same attention as men's, which is a problem that could have dire consequences.

Even though heart disease is the biggest cause of death for women in America, only one-fifth of primary care doctors and 42 per cent of cardiologists believe they can accurately assess a woman's heart health, according to a survey.

The failure of medical professionals to recognise heart attacks in women resulted in a higher mortality rate for women than for males, according to a 2018 British study.

While women are often more concerned about breast cancer, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says that they are just as likely as men to die from heart ailments.

In contrast to other, more widely publicised risks like breast cancer, the CDC warns that almost 20 per cent of American women will pass away from heart failure.

In 2022, Saudi Arabia is expected to have the fastest-growing economy, surpassing other faltering Western European and North American countries as well as Asian heavyweights China and India.

According to the report in Economist Intelligence, the Kingdom's gross domestic product is anticipated to expand at the fastest rate since 2011—7.5 percent—this year.

According to the research, increased energy costs, increased oil and gas output, significant investments in the energy and non-energy industries, and the successful implementation of a comprehensive COVID-19 immunisation campaign are the main drivers of the Kingdom's economic growth, as reported by the Arab news.&nbsp;

In addition, it predicted that Saudi Arabia's real GDP growth will be close to a healthy 5% in 2023 before reverting to a more manageable 3% growth between 2024 and 2026.

The current account balance of Saudi Arabia is predicted to be in surplus in 2022, amounting to roughly $163 billion, up from $44 billion in 2021.

Consumer price inflation is anticipated to average around 2.5 percent in 2022 and to further decline in 2023 as the Saudi Central Bank continues to tighten monetary policy in accordance with the US Federal Reserve, according to the report.

It made note of the fact that the Kingdom's ongoing regulatory reforms are enhancing the <a href="https://www.wionews.com/world/zaporizhzhia-nuclear-plants-main-external-power-line-cut-off-radiation-leak-narrowly-avoided-512725">business climate</a> and luring foreign capital.

Along with assisting the labour market, these reforms are also increasing the participation of the private sector in the economy.

“Pro-business reforms have made it easier to start a business and easier for foreign companies to invest in the economy, both of which are fundamental to the Kingdom’s long-term development plans under the Vision 2030 strategy,” the report said.&nbsp;

The report says&nbsp;Saudi Arabia's economic prognosis is still positive as long as the reform process stays on course and money keeps flowing into the country's important initiatives and expanding industries.

The International Monetary Fund forecasted in August that Saudi Arabia's GDP will increase by 7.6 percent in 2022.

The IMF's Article IV consultation report predicts that the Kingdom's inflation rate in 2022 will be 2.8 percent.

“Liquidity and fiscal support, reform momentum under Vision 2030, and high oil prices and production helped the economy recover with robust growth, contained inflation and a resilient financial sector,” said the IMF&nbsp;in a press release.&nbsp;

The report also mentioned that fiscal consolidation in Saudi Arabia will be supported by changes in tax administration and policy that will increase tax collection from sources other than oil.

The Conservative Party leadership election has concluded, and Liz Truss is largely anticipated to be declared the winner and follow Boris Johnson as the country's next prime minister.

The Conservative Party's online and postal voting for members ended at 5 p.m. (16:00 GMT) on Friday, capping a two-month campaign that saw the final two candidates participate in hustings and televised debates while touring the nation.

A day before the departing Johnson formally presents his resignation to Queen Elizabeth II, the outcome of the runoff between foreign secretary Truss and former finance minister Rishi Sunak will be made public at 12:30 p.m. on Monday.

Andrew Stephenson, head of the Conservative Party, congratulated both candidates for participating in the frequently "gruelling schedule in good spirits".

“I know our party is ready to unite around a new leader, and tackle the challenges we face as a country ahead,” he said as the ballot closed.

Early in August—a month after Johnson announced his resignation—the estimated 200,000 Conservative Party members began casting ballots. This was in response to a number of controversies and resignations from Johnson's cabinet.

In member polls, Truss, 47, has regularly received a resounding majority of the vote versus Sunak.

She has run a campaign to cut taxes and put economic growth first, at a time when the UK is experiencing inflation that it has not been seen in decades and is predicted to go into recession this year, as reported by Al Jazeera.&nbsp;

“I have a bold plan that will grow our economy and deliver higher wages, more security for families and world-class public services,” Truss said in a statement, as the curtain came down on the often bitter race with her 42-year-old rival Sunak.

“If I am elected prime minister, I will never let anyone talk us down and I will do everything in my power to make sure our great nation succeeds.”

Sunak has called Truss's plans "reckless," warning that they run the risk of driving up inflation and harming the nation's reputation in the eyes of foreign lenders and markets.

He has suggested that he is best qualified to lead the UK through its present economic difficulties because of his experience managing the nation's finances during the pandemic.

“We face huge challenges ahead, but also huge opportunities,” Sunak said on Friday.

“I know what it takes to get through challenging times. I did it as chancellor and I will do it again as prime minister.”

Who is the better politician?&nbsp;

After months of managing controversies poorly, Conservatives turned against their Brexit hero Johnson and chose Sunak over Truss as their more electable candidate to lead them until the next general election, which is scheduled for January 2025.

Nevertheless, the party's grassroots have backed Truss's right-wing agenda despite the fact that she was a former Liberal Democrat and supported remaining in the EU during the 2016 referendum in Britain.

“She’s a better politician,” John Curtice, professor of politics at the University of Strathclyde, told the AFP news agency after Truss stuck to a simple script over the long, hot summer of campaigning.

“Sunak has demonstrated some of the qualities you might hope to see in a good minister. But Miss Truss has demonstrated the qualities that you need in a politician,” Curtice added.

Regardless of the outcome, recent polls of the general electorate indicate that the Conservatives will find it more difficult to maintain their 12-year hold on office.

The Conservative Party leadership election has concluded, and Liz Truss is largely anticipated to be declared the winner and follow Boris Johnson as the country's next prime minister.

The Conservative Party leadership election has concluded, and Liz Truss is largely anticipated to be declared the winner and follow Boris Johnson as the country's next prime minister. The Conservative Party's online and postal voting for members ended at 5 p.m. (16:00 GMT) on Friday, capping a two-month campaign that saw the final two candidates participate in hustings and televised debates while touring the nation. A day before the departing Johnson formally presents his resignation to Queen Elizabeth II, the outcome of the runoff between foreign secretary Truss and former finance minister Rishi Sunak will be made public at 12:30 p.m. on Monday. Andrew Stephenson, head of the Conservative Party, congratulated both candidates for participating in the frequently "gruelling schedule in good spirits". “I know our party is ready to unite around a new leader, and tackle the challenges we face as a country ahead,” he said as the ballot closed. Early in August—a month after Johnson announced his resignation—the estimated 200,000 Conservative Party members began casting ballots. This was in response to a number of controversies and resignations from Johnson's cabinet. In member polls, Truss, 47, has regularly received a resounding majority of the vote versus Sunak. She has run a campaign to cut taxes and put economic growth first, at a time when the UK is experiencing inflation that it has not been seen in decades and is predicted to go into recession this year, as reported by Al Jazeera. “I have a bold plan that will grow our economy and deliver higher wages, more security for families and world-class public services,” Truss said in a statement, as the curtain came down on the often bitter race with her 42-year-old rival Sunak. “If I am elected prime minister, I will never let anyone talk us down and I will do everything in my power to make sure our great nation succeeds.” Also read | Police apologise for wrongfully convicting a man executed 70 years ago Sunak has called Truss's plans "reckless," warning that they run the risk of driving up inflation and harming the nation's reputation in the eyes of foreign lenders and markets. He has suggested that he is best qualified to lead the UK through its present economic difficulties because of his experience managing the nation's finances during the pandemic. “We face huge challenges ahead, but also huge opportunities,” Sunak said on Friday. “I know what it takes to get through challenging times. I did it as chancellor and I will do it again as prime minister.” Who is the better politician? After months of managing controversies poorly, Conservatives turned against their Brexit hero Johnson and chose Sunak over Truss as their more electable candidate to lead them until the next general election, which is scheduled for January 2025. Nevertheless, the party's grassroots have backed Truss's right-wing agenda despite the fact that she was a former Liberal Democrat and supported remaining in the EU during the 2016 referendum in Britain. “She’s a better politician,” John Curtice, professor of politics at the University of Strathclyde, told the AFP news agency after Truss stuck to a simple script over the long, hot summer of campaigning. “Sunak has demonstrated some of the qualities you might hope to see in a good minister. But Miss Truss has demonstrated the qualities that you need in a politician,” Curtice added. International energy officials reported that a crucial nuclear power plant in Ukraine once more experienced a loss of external power on Saturday, raising concerns about its operations as the prolonged energy crisis between Moscow and the West intensified due to the conflict.&nbsp;

According to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant which is the largest such facility in Europe, had its final main external power line shut off but a reserve connection was still able to continue sending electricity to the grid.&nbsp;

According to the agency's statement&nbsp;posted on its website, just one of the station's six reactors was still operational.

Since Russian troops invaded Ukraine in late February, the plant has been under Moscow's control. Each side accuses the other of shelling the areas nearby, causing damage to the plant.&nbsp;

The dispute over Russian oil and gas exports, meantime, continued this week as the G7 countries established a planned price ceiling on Russian oil exports and Moscow promised to keep its main gas pipeline to Germany shut.&nbsp;

Amid the Taiwan-China crisis, the Philippines has stated that it would allow the US forces to use its military bases in the event of a Taiwan conflict. The statement was made by Jose Manuel Romualdez, Philippines' ambassador to the US with the caveat "if it is important for us, for our own security,". It is pertinent to note that Romualdez is a relative of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and wields considerable influence in the power corridors of Manila. His statement indicates the position Manila is taking despite assuming a relative neutral stance on the Taiwan issue. "Nobody wants to have any kind of war or confrontation. We want to ask both countries to lessen the tension by having more dialogue and then trying to resolve all of these issues because it's in our part of the world," added Romualdez. The envoy also added that Manila is in talks with Washington to increase the number of military bases that US forces can use in Philippine territory. As reported extensively by WION, US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's visit, the first by a top US official in 25 years, set off a series of US lawmakers' visits to Taipei. Meanwhile, after holding intensive military drills around the island nation in the aftermath of Pelosi's visit, Beijing is once again starting to crank up the pressure. Earlier today, Taiwan's defence ministry said that two Chinese fighter jets crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait again. It is pertinent to note that the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Brunei, and Taiwan have counterclaims over the South China Sea which China considers its own. Jared Kushner, the right-hand and son-in-law of former US President Donald Trump in an interview stated that the Ukraine-Russia war would have never taken place if Trump had still been in power. Kushner, who had a tumultuous brief period as Trump's adviser, claimed that Trump and his policies had brought peace to Europe and pushed China onto the 'backfoot'. “We had peace in Europe, peace in the world. China was on the backfoot. Now, we have a war in Ukraine with Russia — that never would have happened,” said Kushner in an interview with SkyNews. Kushner also said that Trump was laughed at when he warned Germany of being overly reliant on Russia for the gas supplies. It is pertinent to note that in a public address, Trump had suggested that Germany should not be reliant on Russian gas. To ease inflation in the country, Germany's ruling coalition has agreed on a $65 billion inflation relief package. Reportedly, the package will help reduce the financial strain on households as Russian gas supplies remain halted with no timeline of resumption laid out by Moscow. This is the third relief package to be doled out by the German government which takes the total to $95 billion. This particular relief package will include tax breaks for energy-intensive companies and cheap public transport for the citizens. Moreover, under the plan, a $300 one-off payment will be provided to millions of pensioners to battle the soaring energy bills. Similarly, students will be given a slightly smaller $200 one-off payment. Those receiving housing benefits will also receive some kind of monetary help for the rising heating costs. However, the biggest talking point is the $1.5 billion earmarked for public transport. Earlier, Germany had launched a $9 monthly ticket for travel in local and regional transport systems which was a huge hit. The Deutsch government is planning a successor to this scheme which will be priced slightly higher than its previous iteration. "Timely and proportionate relief for citizens and businesses is necessary due to the rapidly increasing burden of high energy prices," Germany's coalition partners were quoted as saying by AFP. Meanwhile, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in response to the new package said his government had made 'timely decisions' and that, "We will get through this winter." It is pertinent to note that inflation in Germany rose to eight per cent in the month of August, primarily due to the reduction in gas supplies. We are better equipped: Olaf Scholz However, a day before the shutdown of the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline, Scholz added that his country was prepared to deal with the Russian threat of gas. "Germany is in a much better position in terms of security of supply than was foreseeable a couple of months ago. We can deal well with the threats we are confronted with from Russia, which uses gas as part of its strategy in the war against Ukraine." Read more: We are in better position to counter Russia's gas threat, says Olaf Scholz Meanwhile, economy minister Robert Habeck stated that Germany had filled its gas reserves to almost 83 per cent. "Germany's gas storage facilities are nearly 83 per cent full and will hit 85 per cent full in early September. As a result, the markets will calm and go down" said Habeck. Germany is dependent on Russia for its energy needs Despite talking tough against Russia, Berlin still hasn't been able to get rid of Russian oil and gas, which accounted for more than 55 per cent of its requirement in 2021. Moreover, since February, the supplies from Russia have been reduced by more than 30 per cent, leading to an acute energy crisis in the country, with the price of oil and gas rising by almost four per cent compared to last year. Germany, akin to several other European nations is scampering for alternatives and looking to build reserves. However, the process is lengthy and one that cannot be achieved over the course of a few months. The second attempt this week to launch a crew capsule into lunar orbit with test dummies had to be aborted after NASA's new moon rocket suffered another hazardous fuel leak on Saturday. Weeks or perhaps months have passed since the maiden flight.

Although they were minor, hydrogen leaks plagued the earlier attempt on Monday to launch the Space Launch System rocket, which is the most potent NASA has ever produced. On top of that, leaks discovered earlier in the year during countdown drills were discovered.

The rocket was moved off the launch pad and into the hangar for more repairs and system updates following the most recent failure, according to the <a href="https://www.wionews.com/science/researchers-may-have-solved-mystery-of-how-pyramids-were-built-512515">mission</a> managers. There may be some maintenance and testing done at the pad beforehand.

The rocket is currently suspended until late September or October as a two-week launch ban is about to begin. A high-priority SpaceX astronaut voyage to the International Space Station slated for early October will be accommodated by NASA.

In particular on a test mission like this, where everyone wants to validate the rocket's systems "before we send four humans up on the top of it," NASA Administrator Bill Nelson emphasised that safety is the primary priority.

NASA has been waiting years to orbit the moon in a crew capsule atop a rocket. Astronauts could fly around the moon in 2024 and land there in 2025 if the six-week demonstration is successful. 50 years have passed since the last lunar landing.

At dawn, the Space Launch System rocket was just beginning to be filled with nearly 1 million gallons of fuel when a sizable leak in the bottom engine section emerged. Launch director Charlie Blackwell-Thompson and her team had just begun this process.

Ground controllers made an attempt to stop it by stopping and beginning the flow of extremely cold liquid hydrogen in an effort to close the breach around a supply line seal, as they had done with earlier, smaller leaks. In fact, they tried that twice, and&nbsp;also flushed helium through the line. But the leak persisted.

Due to their extreme small size—the smallest in the universe—hydrogen molecules can escape via the smallest crack or opening. Hydrogen leaks were a common problem with NASA's space shuttles, which are now gone. The new moon rocket utilises the same main engines.

It was an even bigger issue on Monday since a sensor said one of the rocket's four engines was too warm, even though experts later confirmed it was actually cool enough. This time, the launch team was going to disregard the bad sensor and use other equipment to make sure each main engine was appropriately chilled. But the countdown was never that long.

In anticipation of witnessing the Space Launch System rocket launch, thousands of people swarmed the shore during the extended Labor Day weekend.

The second attempt this week to launch a crew capsule into lunar orbit with test dummies had to be aborted after NASA's new moon rocket suffered another hazardous fuel leak on Saturday. Weeks or perhaps months have passed since the maiden flight. Although they were minor, hydrogen leaks plagued the earlier attempt on Monday to launch the Space Launch System rocket, which is the most potent NASA has ever produced. On top of that, leaks discovered earlier in the year during countdown drills were discovered. The rocket was moved off the launch pad and into the hangar for more repairs and system updates following the most recent failure, according to the mission managers. There may be some maintenance and testing done at the pad beforehand. The rocket is currently suspended until late September or October as a two-week launch ban is about to begin. A high-priority SpaceX astronaut voyage to the International Space Station slated for early October will be accommodated by NASA. In particular on a test mission like this, where everyone wants to validate the rocket's systems "before we send four humans up on the top of it," NASA Administrator Bill Nelson emphasised that safety is the primary priority. “Just remember: We’re not going to launch until it’s right,” he said. The re-implementation of the Iran nuclear agreement shouldn't be contingent on determining whether Tehran has complied with its Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) responsibilities, said the White House on Friday.&nbsp;

In reference to International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) investigations into uranium traces discovered at three unauthorised Iranian sites, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters that there shouldn't be any conditions placed on the re-implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

This week, Iran's foreign minister stated that the United Nations nuclear watchdog should cease its "politically motivated probes" into Tehran's nuclear activities.

It is difficult to revive the 2015 agreement known as JCPOA, under which Iran limited its atomic programme in exchange for the lifting of United States, United Nations, and European Union (EU) sanctions. Washington has consistently claimed that these investigations are a separate matter.&nbsp;

US military equipment worth over USD 1.1 billion, including Harpoon and Sidewinder missiles, will be sold to Taiwan, the country stated on Friday.&nbsp;Taiwan's purchase of military hardware has received Washington's approval, the Defence Security Cooperation Agency (DCSA) acknowledged in a number of statements.

According to DSCA, the sale of Harpoon Block II Missiles and associated equipment to Taiwan for an estimated USD 355 million was approved by the US State Department in order to enhance the island's defence capabilities and advance US security interests.

The state department also approved the sale of Block II Sidewinder Missiles and associated equipment for an estimated USD 85.6 million, as per DSCA.

The probable sale of USD 665.4 million in Surveillance Radar Programme support and equipment was also approved, DCSA stated.

The core military balance in the area won't be changed by the proposed sales, according to DCSA. The potential sales coincide with rising hostilities between Washington and Beijing over House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's divisive trip to <a href="https://www.wionews.com/world/taiwan-china-conflict-tycoon-announces-plan-to-train-33-million-civilian-warriors-512353">Taiwan</a>.

Boeing produces Harpoons, which are anti-ship homing missiles with littoral water capabilities. The purchase of 60 of the missiles and associated hardware was sought by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in the United States (TECRO).

Raytheon created air-to-air missiles called Sidewinders that can lock on to targets after being launched. TECRO made a request to purchase 100 of the missiles and associated hardware.

In order to enhance the situational awareness and threat warning capabilities of the island, TECRO also asked to purchase Contractor Logistics Support for their Surveillance Radar Program, according to DCSA. The sale's major contractor would be Raytheon.

According to a representative for the Chinese embassy, arms shipments run the risk of undermining China's sovereignty and security interests and escalating tensions in the Taiwan Strait.

The Taiwanese military had on Thursday downed an unidentified civilian drone that had violated its airspace over Shiyu Island's restricted waters early in the morning. Shiyu Island is located just off the coast of China.

According to a statement issued by Taiwan's defence ministry, "The Jinmen Defence Command of the Army revealed that about 12:30 p.m. today (1), an unidentified civilian aerial camera was observed to infiltrate the airspace over the restricted waters of Shiyu Island."

The statement read, "The ministry of defence will continue to search, monitor, and closely monitor to preserve the security of the defence region."

A similar incident involving a Chinese military drone entering "restricted" air space over an island under Taiwanese sovereignty and being shot at by the Taiwanese military was reported on Tuesday.

In light of the current high cross-strait tensions, China opposes the sale of armaments to Taiwan worth USD 1.1 billion. The Chinese embassy in Washington informed Sputnik that&nbsp;China will take the necessary counter-measures.

Since about the middle of August, several civilian drones have been seen circling the little island of Kinmen, which is 180 kilometres from Taiwan's main island but only 10 kilometres from China. Two mask-wearing Taiwanese troops reportedly tossed rocks at a Chinese drone on one occasion, on August 16, as it flew over their military base.

As Europe continues to remain without natural gas supplies via the Nord Stream 1 pipeline, Gazprom on Saturday announced that Siemens Energy was ready to carry out the repairs.

As Europe continues to remain without natural gas supplies via the Nord Stream 1 pipeline, Gazprom on Saturday announced that Siemens Energy was ready to carry out the repairs. However, it also added that no place was available to carry out the repair job. "Siemens is taking part in repair work in accordance with the current contract, is detecting malfunctions ... and is ready to fix the oil leaks. Only there is nowhere to do the repair," said the company on its official Telegram account. As reported extensively by WION, Gazprom, the Russian-state-owned gas company, on Friday announced that the pipeline will not open on Saturday, after the three-day maintenance period that started on August 31.
