Former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi has been left disappointed after New Zealand's decision to abandon their tour of Pakistan. Afridi said what New Zealand have done is 'unforgivable' for Pakistan as the Black Caps pulled out of the tour without waiting for the country's security forces to assess the situation in the host nation.

"At no stage has the ECB (England and Wales Cricket Board) ever asked Team England Player Partnership or the teams, men and women, whether the tour should go ahead or whether players were prepared to tour Pakistan," a TEPP spokesperson was quoted as saying by British media.

Cricket West Indies (CWI) assured the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) that it plans to honour its tour obligations, including the one in December this year. CWI chief executive officer Johnny Grave said that the sport's governing body in the Caribbean had no intention not to fulfil the tour obligations. 
 
"At this stage, our intention is to fulfil our touring obligations. We`ve got a pretty clear process that we go through with independent security experts, like we did in 2018," Grave was quoted as saying by Trinidad Newsday on Thursday. Three years back, the West Indies side under Jason Mohammed had toured Pakistan for three Twenty20Is in Karachi. 
 
"We will follow that process, the board of directors, WIPA (West Indies Players` Association), as well as the players themselves will review the plans and our reports, including the independent security advice. Most of our women`s and men`s players have played in Pakistan in the last few years," said Grave. 
 
The West Indies team's tour of Pakistan has come under the spotlight after the New Zealand side cancelled the tour hours before the start of the opening ODI due to security and returned to Auckland, while the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) too cancelled its men`s and women`s team tours due to "increasing concerns about travelling to the region." 
 
"We don`t have to make an imminent decision," Grave said. "We will just go through the process first, with the PCB and the security experts. We`ll have a meeting with the players to answer any questions and give them all the information. We`re just at the start of that process now, with the women`s team just finishing against South Africa. 
 
"We`re firming up our plans, with the World Cup qualifiers and, from a men`s perspective, we`re focused very much on the (T20) World Cup. That`s the major operations focus. We`re looking at getting our T20 players to the World Cup and our Test players into Antigua for a camp, and then over to Sri Lanka. We`re not due (in Pakistan) with the men`s team until December 9, so we`ve got a bit of time."

New Zealand have pledged a win-at-all-costs approach to the second Test against Bangladesh, starting in Wellington on Friday, as they look to wrap up the series with a game to spare.

Pushed out of their comfort zone by some incisive swing bowling in challenging conditions, a jolted India will gain confidence from Mahendra Singh Dhoni's return as they aim to finish the five-match series against New Zealand on a high.&nbsp;

India's most experienced ODI player was out with hamstring injury during the last two matches and his return couldn't have been timed better after their inexplicable collapse for 92 in Hamilton.&nbsp;

A 4-1 margin will look much better than 3-2 but it will be easier said than done at the Westpac Stadium in Wellington.&nbsp;

The windy conditions here could just be the shot that Trent Boult would need as he again marks his run-up.&nbsp;

And that's where Dhoni's presence will be a factor in that middle order which still doesn't rock solid if skipper Virat Kohli isn't around.&nbsp;

Assistant coach Sanjay Bangar confirmed that Dhoni is fit and available for the game.&nbsp;

"Yes, he is fit and will be playing the fifth ODI," Bangar told reporters on the eve of the game.&nbsp;

Dhoni's calmness in anchoring the innings will be priceless and young Shubman Gill might make the way in the playing XI as the World Cup preparations hit full swing.&nbsp;

The Hamilton match was an eye opener where Ambati Rayudu, Kedar Jadhav and Dinesh Karthik failed to prove a point that they can stand up and be counted if Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan fail on a given day with Kohli also not around.&nbsp;

However, Bangar said it was an one-odd failure.&nbsp;

"The middle order has rose to the occasion many times and delivered. Yes some situation has been trying but it is not that the middle order hasn't performed," Bangar said.&nbsp;

"When required, more often than not whenever it has been put in a situation, it has delivered, maybe the last game was an aberration," the assistant coach in charge of batting, added.&nbsp;

With the three-match T20I series ahead and also the World Cup round the corner, India will have to address this weakness to ensure that their much-vaunted batting doesn't crumble on an odd day when the condition aids swing bowling in England.&nbsp;

Rohit has already described it as 'one of the worst batting performance' by the team and he would like to lead by example by quickly getting over the disappointment with another fiery opening stand with Shikhar Dhawan on Sunday.&nbsp;

Having returned from provisional suspension post his loose talk on a TV chat show, Hardik Pandya gave ample display of his importance in the ODI team and he will look to continue to deliver.&nbsp;

It will be interesting if Mohammed Shami comes back for the final game with Bhuvneshwar Kumar getting the rest.&nbsp;

The team management might also want to test Mohammed Siraj as Khaleel Ahmed wasn't very impressive in the last game.&nbsp;

Although the series is done and dusted, the fourth ODI win gave a new lease of life to New Zealand's campaign and they will look to dish out another superlative performance before going into the T20I series.&nbsp;

Opener Henry Nicholls, who replaced Colin Munro in the fourth ODI, made an unbeaten 30 to provide solidity at the top, while Ross Taylor looked in good touch en route his 93 and 37 not out in the last two innings.&nbsp;&nbsp;

New Zealand, however, is likely to miss out opener Martin Guptill who suffered a back injury during practice.&nbsp;

In the bowling department, Boult has swung his way with a five-wicket haul while Grandhomme seemed to have regained confidence with his three-wicket haul in the last match.&nbsp;
