<p>Further, Hayden also spoke about the pressure Indian players deal with and said, "In Australia, I could walk down the street and largely be unrecognised, especially with this terrible beard and hat on (laughs). But it's also got great competitive sports besides cricket. Rugby, football, our water sports, surfing, and outdoor sports. Here in India, it's very insular and there's a lot of pressure." He added, "It's the same with Pakistan cricket as well. There is one sport and it is cricket, so it's a mindset thing."</p>

<p>Hayden advised the Indian team to focus on the process and not think&nbsp;about the outcomes. "Being cautious about looking for the scoreboard and looking for the titles and just playing and being a part of the process, something when you look at franchise setups, Gujarat Titans have done really well this year and CSK have done very well. Mumbai Indians as well believe in a certain process. So, that would be my advice to Indian cricket to forget the outcomes, but buy into the process,"&nbsp;Hayden added.</p>

In the next half of the tournament, MI won five out of the remaining matches and qualified for the playoffs. And in the next 7, they won 5. They have really got on a roll here. I would imagine opposition sides will be fearing MI now," Hayden told Star Sports, as quoted by India Today.</p>

<h2>MI's form, final's history to haunt CSK - Hayden</h2>

<p>Chennai and Mumbai are the two most successful sides in IPL history, having won four and five titles, respectively. Meanwhile, in the four previous finals between these two sides, Mumbai has come in the top three times, making them a strong contender for the title this time if they go past Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 2.</p>

<p>Earlier, CSK's bowling coach and legend Dwayne Bravo also jokingly echoed the same concerns about CSK fearing facing Mumbai in the finals.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"If they haven't already, and Mumbai Indians are not only in a position in the next game where they can qualify (for the final), that is going to send some real shivers through the spines of CSK. Hayden has been left impressed by Tripathi's sublime skills with the bat in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) and believes the right-hander's ability to score runs across all parts of the ground makes him a dangerous batter.</p>

<p>Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by six wickets in the opening game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 on Saturday to get off to a winning start in the tournament. KKR rode on impressive performances from Indian pacer Umesh Yadav and opener Ajinkya Rahane to outclass CSK at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.</p>

<p>While spinners Sunil Narine and Varun Chakaravarthy bowled sensational spells to tighten the noose on the CSK batting line-up, Umesh was the pick of the bowlers as he got KKR off to a brilliants start with two quick wickets at the top. <p>Umesh didn't have the best of starts to his spell as he bowled a no-ball on the first ball of the over before bowling a wide. However, he sent Gaikwad packing on the third delivery of the first over to draw the first blood for KKR. After Umesh dismissed Gaikwad on a duck, former Australian cricketer Matthew Hayden praised him while commentating during the match.</p>

<p>However, one of Hayden's comments didn't go down well with the fans. While praising Umesh, Hayden referred to the Indian pacer's struggles in the IPL over the last couple of seasons and said - "Someone else’s trash has become KKR’s treasure”. Hayden was referring to the fact that Umesh had managed only two appearances in the last two seasons for his last team.</p>

<p>Former Australian cricketer Ricky Ponting on Saturday termed Australian head coach Justin Langer`s resignation, five months before his term expired, "a really sad day", while another stalwart, Matthew Hayden, castigated Test skipper Pat Cummins for failing to publicly endorse the 51-year-old Langer to get a new contract.<br />

Langer had taken charge of the Australian team in 2018 following the `Sandpaper gate` scandal, and while he was reportedly unpopular with some player in the side, he guided the team to its maiden ICC T20 World Cup title triumph in the UAE in November last year and the 4-0 Ashes victory recently.<br />

Langer resigned from his post on Saturday, unhappy with the short-term contract extension offered by Cricket Australia (CA) after a marathon seven-hour board meeting.<br />

Both Ponting and Hayden are Langer`s former teammates and close friends and they slammed CA for its handling of the matter, less than two months before the start of one of the most crucial Test and One-day International (ODI) series against Pakistan.<br />

"I think it`s a really sad day as far as Australian cricket is concerned," Ponting told ABC radio on Saturday. "And if you look back, it`s been a really poor six months. I think of the way that Cricket Australia as a whole have handled some of the better people in Australian cricket, Justin Langer and Tim Paine, I think it`s been almost embarrassing with the way they`ve handled those two cases."<br />

Paine stepped down as Australian Test skipper weeks before the start of the Ashes last year after a sexting scandal was revealed. He later took an indefinite break from all forms of cricket.<br />

A CA statement did not "address specifics of the review into Langer`s future, other than to confirm he had been offered a short-term contract extension," a report in cricket.com.au said.<br />

"If you listen to the Australian captain (Cummins) the other day not mention once any kind of commendation or support for him, I don`t think (Justin) would be going very well at all. That would be extremely hurtful. The whole thing just reeks of being orchestrated, basically from the moment all of this garbage started coming out (about Langer`s coaching style) in winter last year. You could see the writing was on the wall," added Hayden.<br />

Cummins has never publicly endorsed Langer`s contract extension, and as recently as February 2 he avoided speaking on the head coach`s future, saying it is the job of CA to decide. "It`s part of speculation which I don`t think is really healthy. I just don`t want to add to it. That`s Cricket Australia`s job. It`s not my job," Cummins was quoted as saying by ABC News.</p>

<p>Australia's a top-order batsman who was last year inducted into the Australian Cricket Hall of Fame, told a newspaper that he was "bloody lucky" to escape serious injury.</p>

<p>"It was an hour into the session and we had had half dozen waves together and I got this one right-handed wave which I sort of ducked under and that is pretty much all I can remember," he told the newspaper Monday.</p>

<p>"I wasn't knocked out. I was speared into the top of the sandbank onto the top of my head. Then it twisted my head with my own weight and the weight of the wave.</p>

<p>"I heard this god almighty click in my neck. I did not get knocked out but I sort of came to and rolled up on my back."</p>

<p>Hayden said he was able to get back onto the beach, but had scans later that day, which revealed the extent of his injuries.</p>

<p>Despite the scare, Hayden said he would return to surfing, adding: "The ocean gives and the ocean takes -- I will be back."</p>
