<p>In mere five days, more than 100 million people have joined Meta’s ‘Twitter killer’ app Threads, making it the fastest-growing online platform to reach the milestone.</p>

<p>Furthermore, Threads has also dethroned Open AI’s ChatGPT, which had taken two months to reach the 100 million mark.</p>

<p>According to Quiver Quantitative, which tracks the data from the&nbsp;Instagram app, by early Monday, Threads, which launched across 100 countries, had more than 100 million users.</p>

<p>Meta chief Mark Zuckerberg took to his Threads account to announce the historic achievement created by his app.</p>

<h2><strong>Zuckerberg amazed</strong></h2>

<p>“Threads reached 100 million sign-ups over the weekend,” wrote Zuckerberg. “That’s mostly organic demand and we haven’t even turned on many promotions yet. Can’t believe it’s only been five days!”</p>

<p>The other Meta-owned app, Instagram, took a week to reach 100,000 users when it launched as an independent platform in 2010.</p>

<p>It seems the microblogging app’s meteoric rise was aided by a simple sign-up process that requires users to log in to the app through their Instagram accounts, with the ability to transfer the accounts they follow on Instagram to the new platform.</p>

<p>The entry of Threads has adversely impacted Twitter’s web traffic which has dwindled by five&nbsp;per cent in the first two full days Threads was generally available compared with the previous week, said Similarweb, a data company that specialises in web analytics.</p>

<h2><strong>Impact of Threads on social media</strong></h2>

<p>The greatest Pay-Per-View (PPV) fight of the century might be in the works. If one is to go by the social media posts of Twitter boss Elon Musk and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, the duo might soon lock horns, that too in a cage match fight.</p>

<p>The chain of events started on Tuesday when Musk, akin to his routine social media behaviour, commented on a tweet about Facebook potentially developing a Twitter competitor.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“I’m sure Earth can’t wait to be exclusively under Zuck’s thumb with no other options. At least it will be ‘sane’. Was worried there for a moment,” Musk tweeted with a crying-laughing emoji.</p>

<p>A Twitter user replied to Musk saying he should be careful of Zuckerberg since the Facebook boss had been practising jiu-jitsu, a Brazilian martial art form.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“I’m up for a cage match if he is lol,” replied a cavalier Musk.</p>

<p>Though one would be forgiven to think it was all banter from Musk, Zuckerberg seemed game for the match. He posted a screenshot of Musk's tweet on his Instagram story, saying, "send me location".&nbsp;</p>

<p>Afterwards, another netizen posted Zuckerberg's Instagram story screenshot to which Musk replied,&nbsp;“If this is for real, I will do it.”&nbsp;</p>

<p>Tech outlet <em>The Verge</em> reached out to Meta for a response which said,&nbsp;“The story speaks for itself".&nbsp;Musk also seemingly&nbsp;confirmed the fight by sharing the location of the fight as "Vegas Octagon".&nbsp;</p>

<p>In a subsequent tweet, Musk joked saying, "I have this great move that I call “The Walrus”, where I just lie on top of my opponent &amp; do nothing."</p>

Mark Zuckerberg plays down Apple Vision Pro in company meet: Report

<p>Facebook's parent company Meta Platforms Inc. previewed a number of Artificial Intelligence tools under development to its staff on Thursday, It showed ChatGPT-like chatbots for Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp that can communicate using several personalities.</p>

<p>The billionaire CEO took to Instagram where he talked about competing in the Jiu-Jitsu tournament and winning medals for his team.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“Competed in my first jiu jitsu tournament and won some medals&nbsp;for the Guerrilla Jiu Jitsu team. Thanks to @davecamarillo @khaiwu @intense0ne for training me!" Zuckerberg wrote in the post.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The post was an instant hit as it received over 400,000 likes and almost 10,000 comments. Some high-profile celebrities such as UFC champion&nbsp;Conor McGregor as well as YouTube creator PewDiePie congratulated Zuckerberg on his achievement.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“Yo!!! F***ing awesome Mark," wrote McGregor, while PewDiePie added, "Damn, imagine getting zuck'ed by the zuck."</p>

<p>One of his coaches, Khai “the Shadow” Wu, congratulated his student: “Yesterday getting to see Zuck compete was pretty epic. No match was easy and everything was earned. It was an honor to be able to help coach and offer any advice I could.”</p>

<p>In 2019, another American designer, Travis Fitch, also unveiled a collection of 3D-printed clothes.</p>

<p>Adidas too has launched shoes made using this technology. The company's Futurecraft 4D project creates shoes with a midsole created in partnership with Carbon 3D. These shoe midsoles are made using recycled plastic found in the ocean.</p>

<p>Not only this 3D printed jewellery is also a thing. According to Sculpteo, the technology is actually more sustainable than textiles as it "only need to use the amount of material that is needed to create your project."</p>
