Braving the biting cold, the devotees brimming with energy and enthusiasm converged at the Triveni Sangam to take a holy dip at the Maha Kumbh on Wednesday.
Chants of 'Har Har Mahadev', 'Jai Shri Ram' and 'Jai Ganga Maiyya' were heard as the devotees took a dip in the bone-chilling water.
"It was for the first time that I took a dip in Sangam. After taking the dip, I really felt refreshed," said Nibar Chaudhary, a resident of Uttar Pradesh's Basti district.
The 62-year-old was escorted by two persons, as he walked towards the Sangam area to take a dip.

Lucknow resident Nancy, who came here for the first time, echoed similar sentiments.
"My experience in the Maha Kumbh has been good so far," she said.
Abhishek, a resident of neighbouring Fatehpur district, said the "overall experience was good" and added that he "did not face any problems".
Vijay Katheria, a resident of Kanpur, lauded the security arrangements made at the Maha Kumbh.

He revealed that he became a monk to understand himself and the divine better. He also changed his name to Masani Gorakh and dedicated his life to Lord Shiva in devotion. He also goes by other names like Raghav and Jagdish, he added.

Hailing from Haryana, Masani Gorakh studied aerospace engineering for four years at IIT Bombay. He then changed his field and pursued a Masters degree in Design and worked in photography. He also taught Physics to some students in the meantime.
In a pursuit to &ldquo;understand the meaning of life,&rdquo; the IITian Baba then started studying about Post-Modernism, Socrates, and Plato. He then went back home and focused on &ldquo;basic things&rdquo;.

Indian Minister for Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on Sunday (Jan 12) said that more than 1.5 million foreign tourists are expected to visit the Maha Kumbh.
The Tourism Ministry has established a tent city offering facilities such as Ayurveda, Yoga, and Panchakarma for them, he said.
Addressing the inaugural event of 'Kalagram', a centre showcasing Indian cultural heritage and spread over 10 acres in Sector 7 of the Nagvasuki area, Shekhawat described the Maha Kumbh as the world's largest fair that embodies India's unity in diversity.
He said that over 1.5 million foreign tourists are expected to attend the Maha Kumbh this year.
&ldquo;Special efforts have been made by the Ministry of Culture to give Maha Kumbh global recognition,&rdquo; the minister said.
He highlighted that Kalagram would be one of the main attractions of the fair, featuring stage performances. It will feature the Char Dhams, a grand entrance replicating the 12 Jyotirlingas, an immersive eternal Kumbh exhibition, and seven regional cultural courtyards showcasing the country's diversity.
The 'Anubhuti Mandapam' will provide visitors with a unique sensory experience. Over 230 master craftsmen will demonstrate India's traditional art forms.
Visitors can also enjoy authentic Indian cuisines at state-specific food stalls and vibrant performances by more than 14,630 cultural artists. Several competitions and interactive activities will also be organised, Shekhawat added.
For pilgrims, arrangements have been made for air travel to significant spiritual destinations such as Ayodhya, Kashi, and Mathura.
The Kalagram aims to provide a vibrant platform for showcasing India's folk arts, culture, and traditions.
The Maha Kumbh will begin on January 13, and the Kalagram will offer a glimpse of India's diverse art and culture.
For over 45 days, programmes will be held at various venues, including Kalagram, Ganga Pandals, Jhunsi, Nagvasuki, and Arail, the minister said.
Shekhawat emphasised that the Maha Kumbh reflects the confluence of faith and culture, attracting visitors from across the globe and presenting India's rich heritage to the world.

Indian Minister for Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on Sunday (Jan 12) said that more than 1.5 million foreign tourists are expected to visit the Maha Kumbh. The Tourism Ministry has established a tent city offering facilities such as Ayurveda, Yoga, and Panchakarma for them, he said. Addressing the inaugural event of 'Kalagram', a centre showcasing Indian cultural heritage and spread over 10 acres in Sector 7 of the Nagvasuki area, Shekhawat described the Maha Kumbh as the world's largest fair that embodies India's unity in diversity. He said that over 1.5 million foreign tourists are expected to attend the Maha Kumbh this year. “Special efforts have been made by the Ministry of Culture to give Maha Kumbh global recognition,” the minister said. He highlighted that Kalagram would be one of the main attractions of the fair, featuring stage performances. It will feature the Char Dhams, a grand entrance replicating the 12 Jyotirlingas, an immersive eternal Kumbh exhibition, and seven regional cultural courtyards showcasing the country's diversity. The 'Anubhuti Mandapam' will provide visitors with a unique sensory experience. Over 230 master craftsmen will demonstrate India's traditional art forms. Visitors can also enjoy authentic Indian cuisines at state-specific food stalls and vibrant performances by more than 14,630 cultural artists. Several competitions and interactive activities will also be organised, Shekhawat added. For pilgrims, arrangements have been made for air travel to significant spiritual destinations such as Ayodhya, Kashi, and Mathura. The Kalagram aims to provide a vibrant platform for showcasing India's folk arts, culture, and traditions. The Maha Kumbh will begin on January 13, and the Kalagram will offer a glimpse of India's diverse art and culture. For over 45 days, programmes will be held at various venues, including Kalagram, Ganga Pandals, Jhunsi, Nagvasuki, and Arail, the minister said. In preparation for the upcoming Maha Kumbh, the Uttar Pradesh Police has established a multi-layered security system around the Prayagraj district.&nbsp;
The initiative, dubbed "impenetrable security Chakravyuh," aims to ensure the safety of millions of devotees expected to attend the event, said the police.&nbsp;
To achieve this, the police have set up 102 checkpoints along 7 routes connecting Prayagraj district to 8 neighbouring districts.&nbsp;
A total of 1,026 police personnel, including 71 inspectors, 234 sub-inspectors, and 645 constables, have been deployed to man these checkpoints. In addition, 113 Home Guards/PRD jawans and 3 sections of the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) are also part of the security detail. Advanced surveillance equipment, including 5 Vajra vehicles, 10 drones, and 4 anti-sabotage teams, are monitoring the routes 24/7 to detect and prevent any potential threats.&nbsp;
