Now, post their death, a clip featuring the two actors in Nikhil Advani's 'D-Day' is doing the rounds of the internet. The small clip has Irrfan and Rishi sitting next to each other in a car with Irrfan suddenly turning towards Kapoor and breaking into a smile. The clip has been shared numerous times by people on social media. Even Kapoor's niece, actress Karisma Kapoor too has shared the clip on Instagram.</p>

<p>Malayalam star Fahadh Faasil says though he never met Irrfan Khan in his life, the actor was one of the reasons why he joined cinema.<br />

The National Award-winning actor released a statement in the wake of Irrfan's death from a rare form of cancer on Wednesday.<br />

Faasil recalled that when he was a student in America, he came across Irrfan's 2006 film "Yun Hota To Kya Hota".<br />
<br />
"The first thing I noticed was that the film was directed by Naseerudin Shah...That night, few minutes into the film, when the character Salim Rajabali came on screen, I turned to Nikunj (his friend) and asked 'who is this guy?'.<br />
<br />
"I mean, there are actors who are intense, who are stylish and who are charming. In all honesty, this was the first time I ever saw an actor who was ORIGINAL on screen. And his name was IRRFAN KHAN," Faasil said in the statement.<br />
<br />
The actor said he became an even bigger fan of Irrfan after watching his performance in Mira Nair's "The Namesake".<br />
"Irfan Khan's growth was like a popular song. Every one was singing it and feeling it. I kept watching his films. I used to get carried away so much that most of the time I lost narratives of the films.<br />
<br />
"Or it was more like I didn't care about the narrative as long as he was performing. He made acting look so easy and I was fooled," Faasil added.<br />
<br />
He said Irrfan was one of the reasons why he decided to drop out of engineering and become an actor.<br />
<br />
"I have been acting or trying to for the last 10 years.. I have never met Inrfan Khan. For that matter I haven't even seen him. But I was fortunate enough to have collaborated with actors and filmmakers who have worked with him. The first thing I spoke to Mr. Vishal Bharadwaj when I met him was about 'Maqbool'," Faasil said.<br />

The actor, however, has a deep regret of never being able to meet the prolific actor, even when Irrfan shot for his 2018 movie "Karwaan" in Kerala.<br />
<br />
"Even when my dear friend Dulquer was shooting with Irrfan in our home town couldn't meet him as I was going through a hectic schedule myself. I had no reason to believe why I had to rush. Today, I regret not shaking hands with-him. I should have just gone to Bombay and met him," Faasil said.<br />

The actor said the country has lost an "impeccable artiste" with Irrfan's demise and he has left a deep vacuum in the cinema community.<br />

"We just didn't have enough of him. Today, when my wife barged into the room and broke the news to me, I will be lying if I say I was shocked, because I continued doing what I was doing.<br />

"The entire day went by today and I could not stop thinking about him. I feel obliged to him. I feel like I owe my career to him. I don't think I would have ever come this far if I had not picked up that DVD and watched an actor who changed my life," Faasil concluded his statement.</p>

<p>For journalists, writing or reporting death is not new. And we are adept at writing about death without getting too involved emotionally with the stories. That's after all our jobs and we have the ability to move on to the next breaking story. But it's different in this case.</p>

<p>Why does his loss seem so personal? I know I am not the only one who feels like that. I have had friends, colleagues, and even family calling and messaging me throughout the day expressing shock over the news. For every single person, it seems like they have lost someone of their own. I scroll through numerous posts on social media and all I see is people writing about how Irrfan's death has affected them at a personal level even though most of them have never met him. Perhaps that's the sign of a true star. A man who can make every character relatable. That's what Irrfan was. He was a relatable man despite scaling international heights. One of those rare actors who shared screen space with a Tom Hanks and a Bobby Deol.... You see the range?<br />

<p>From being the endearing Bengali professor in 'The Namesake' to the annoying obnoxious Monty in 'Life In A Metro', Irrfan had played characters that you and I knew in person and the actor left a distinct impression in each of them. He was the common man who gave hope to millions. He was the actor who spoke for us, told our stories to the world. Looking at him one felt if he could, so could we. Above all, he was one of the most humble stars around.</p>

<p>I had the opportunity of interviewing him twice. The first time was in 2012, I was still a rookie and very nervous about covering events. It was the Osian film festival at Delhi's Siri Fort auditorium. I was standing outside one of the smaller audis, waiting for Irrfan to come and start the press interaction.</p>

<p>He came, dressed in a white shirt and green pants. I remember the colour clearly. I froze because to enter the audi he would have to cross me. He looked at me, probably sensing my nervousness, gave that famous smile of his, and said 'come inside?' or some such thing. I was so nervous I mumbled something and scurried inside to join the rest of the waiting media. An awkward moment to recall or talk about but I distinctly remember that warm smile. The smile that reached out to nervous rookie reporters, a smile that made the audience love him in each of his roles and the same smile that will remain etched in our hearts forever.</p>

<p>The second time was over a video chat-a format that was still new at that time. The Internet kept disconnecting on his and my side at regular intervals but the man never lost his patience or say that 'let's cancel it'. He sat through the hiccups and smiled as we apologised constantly.</p>

<p>While editing copies on Wednesday, I realised that no matter how much you write about this genius, it's not enough. How to compress three decades of his illustrious career in few paragraphs? How does one put it in writing the way he connected with his audience, or how he made his roles in the most ordinary, underwhelming films memorable. How to write about this powerhouse of talent?<br />
<br />
Over the years, I have to admit that the fascination of movies has worn off a bit. It doesn't seem as magical as it used to be in my days as a student. I honestly feel that most actors are replaceable. Every actor can do the other actors part. But no one can bring what Irrfan did to his characters. No one will ever be able to. I missed him when he took a break in 2018 for cancer treatment and I will continue missing him as long as I watch films. And that's why maybe, it feels personal. Because who will make us believe in dreams, in the magic of showbiz as subtly as Irrfan did?</p>

<p>This has got to be the biggest loss for our generation. And it will remain personal. For all of us.<br />

<p>Irrfan Khan's mortal remains were buried on Wednesday afternoon in presence of his family members. The actor was laid to rest in Versova burial ground in Mumbai.<br />

"Irrfan was buried at the Versova <em>kabrastan</em> in Mumbai at 3 pm this afternoon soon after the news of his passing away was announced. In presence were his family, close relatives and friends. Everyone paid their final respects and mourned the loss of his passing away. We pray for his peace and we hope he’s in a better place today. He was strong in his fight, and we all have to be strong too in this loss," said the official statement that was released by his family.<br />

Hollywood directors Colin Trevorrow, Ava Duvernay pay tribute to Irrfan Khan

Irrfan Khan's film 'Angrezi Medium' was released just last month, in March. It was the last film to get a theatrical release before cinema halls were shut down across the country owing to the coronavirus outbreak.

Irrfan Khan's film 'Angrezi Medium' was released just last month, in March. It was the last film to get a theatrical release before cinema halls were shut down across the country owing to the coronavirus outbreak. On Wednesday, as the news of his death poured in- his fans and peers from the film industry paid their tributes to the actor. Many even recalled watching 'Angrezi Medium' on Disney + Hotstar where the film was recently released. His co-stars from the film- Ranvir Shorey, Kiku Sharda, Radhika Madan and Kareena Kapoor too paid rich tributes to Irrfan and shared behind the scenes photos from the film's set. 'Souls live on': Irrfan Khan's 'Angrezi Medium' co-stars mourn his death

<p>Bollywood actor <a href="https://www.wionews.com/entertainment/irrfan-khan-dies-at-the-age-of-53-295471">Irrfan Khan died aged 53</a>&nbsp;today. Best known for his roles in films like ‘Hindi Medium’, ‘Maqbool’, ‘Paan Singh Tomar’ among many others, the actor was admitted into ICU in Mumbai hospital after he was diagnosed with colon infection.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Irrfan’s health had been weak ever since he was diagnosed with neuroendocrine tumour in 2018. He got treatment for his cancer in London and had returned to Mumbai in India recently.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As news of his death came out, Bollywood celebs and his co-stars of previous films took to social media to pay a tribute to the actor.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Amitabh Bachchan wrote, “T 3516 - .. just getting news of the passing of Irfaan Khan .. this is a most disturbing and sad news .. 🙏 An incredible talent .. a gracious colleague .. a prolific contributor to the World of Cinema .. left us too soon .. creating a huge vacuum ..Prayers and duas.”</p>

And a man of few words and an actor of silent expressions with his deep eyes and his memorable actions on screen. It’s saddening that this day, we have to bring forward the news of him passing away.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“Irrfan was a strong soul, someone who fought till the very end and always inspired everyone who came close to him. After having been struck by lightning in 2018 with the news of a rare cancer, he took life soon after as it came and he fought the many battles that came with it. Surrounded by his love, his family for whom he most cared about, he left for heaven abode, leaving behind truly a legacy of his own. We all pray and hope that he is at peace. And to resonate and part with his words he had said, “As if I was tasting life for the first time, the magical side of it”.</p>

Homi posted a heart-warming picture with the 52-year old actor who is seen resting on his director's shoulder.<br />

"Irrfan Khan, you are incredible ... and you're a decent actor as well. I love you more than I know how to say," Homi wrote on Instagram.<br />

He also added how badly he wanted to make this film and how the journey turned out to be a roller coaster for him.<br />

"I wanted to do this film knowing it would be against the odds. I wanted to do it for all the wrong reasons to make a film but they just seemed so right and still do. It's been an emotional roller coaster more than anything else and I know how hard it's been for everyone," he added in the post.</p>
