Irrfan Khan no more, laid to rest in Mumbai in presence of family members

Irrfan Khan's mortal remains were buried on Wednesday afternoon in presence of his family members. The actor was laid to rest in Versova burial ground in Mumbai.

"Irrfan was buried at the Versova kabrastan in Mumbai at 3 pm this afternoon soon after the news of his passing away was announced. In presence were his family, close relatives and friends. Everyone paid their final respects and mourned the loss of his passing away. We pray for his peace and we hope he’s in a better place today. He was strong in his fight, and we all have to be strong too in this loss," said the official statement that was released by his family.

The actor's mother passed away in Jaipur four days ago and he couldn't attend her funeral owing to the nationwide lockdown. His health deteriorated on Tuesday when he was rushed to Mumbai's Kokilaben Hospital. He breathed his last on Wednesday after a prolonged battle with cancer.

Irrfan is survived by his wife Sutapa, and sons Babil and Ayan.
