The DGCA has decided to constitute an Oversight Team that will be deployed to the airline’s corporate office in Gurugram to look into several aspects, including total fleet, pilot numbers, crew utilisation and unplanned leaves.

DGCA noted that Indigo has increased its departures by 9.66 per cent in its current winter schedule when compared with last year’s, while 6.05 per cent when compared to its summer schedule for this year.

Major cities include Hyderabad with 58 IndiGo service cancellations, Chennai reported 41 cancellations, followed by Mumbai with 31, Ahmedabad with 16, and Thiruvananthapuram with four (one arrival and three departures).

IndiGo said it is set to operate more than 1,800 flights on Monday, up from 1,650 on Sunday. The airline added that over 4,500 bags had already been returned to customers and that it remained “on track to deliver the remaining baggage within the next 36 hours.”

IndiGo further assured that the refund and luggage process was in “full action” for both direct and indirect bookings. It urged passengers to check for the latest flight status on its official website before reaching the airports, as its teams work to improve operations.

According to Mohal  all airlines companies were alerted about the changes and asked to implement new FDTL rule as per the High Court guidelines in two phases.

The ministry also instructed the airlines not to levy any rescheduling charges for passengers whose travel plans were affected.
