<p>During his conversation with Pinkvilla, the director talked about how at first he had doubts about Diljit, thinking that, he ‘might not be able to do it’.&nbsp;</p>

<p>When asked about casting Parineeti Chopra and Diljit, Imtiaz said, “I also feel when I watch them together or separately that I couldn’t have imagined or there could’ve been nobody who could’ve played Chamkila or Amarjot except for Diljit and Parineeti. However, I wasn’t sure whether it’s gonna work out with Diljit for some reason. I thought he might not be able to do it, etc."</p>

<p>The movie tells the true story of Punjab's original rockstar, Amar Singh Chamkila, who rose from poverty to immense fame in the 1980s through his powerful music. Diljit Dosanjh portrays Chamkila in the film, showcasing his journey from poverty to popularity which eventually led to his assassination at the age of 27.</p>

<p>The film's trailer has garnered a positive response.&nbsp;It shows a young man from a Punjab village invited to perform at a local event. Despite his objections to being called Chamkila, he decides to proceed. Surprisingly, his music enthrals the village, especially the women, although some criticise the provocative lyrics. The first look of Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming movie starrer Jab Harry Met Sejal was released a week back. Now, the "mini trails" of about 30 secounds would be released on Sunday, the movie's director Imtiaz Ali said. Ali has come up with the idea of ‘mini trails’ - which are a series of 30-second clips from the film to introduce its protagonists to the world.
