Parineeti Chopra, who is all set for the release of her next film Amar Singh Chamkila, penned a gratitude note for the film's director Imtiaz Ali and co-star Diljit Dosanjh. While sharing behind-the-scenes photos from the set, the actress shared her experience of working with Imtiaz and Dilijit on this ambitious project.
In her post, Parineeti thanked Imtiaz for his unparalleled direction, describing him as a leader who guided the film with finesse. She also praised Diljit Dosanjh for being the perfect co-star, making every moment on set enjoyable and effortless. Additionally, she expressed her excitement about being musically directed by A.R. Rahman, calling it a dream come true.

The movie tells the true story of Punjab's original rockstar, Amar Singh Chamkila, who rose from poverty to immense fame in the 1980s through his powerful music. Diljit Dosanjh portrays Chamkila in the film, showcasing his journey from poverty to popularity which eventually led to his assassination at the age of 27.
The film's trailer has garnered a positive response.It shows a young man from a Punjab village invited to perform at a local event. Despite his objections to being called Chamkila, he decides to proceed. Surprisingly, his music enthrals the village, especially the women, although some criticise the provocative lyrics. Eventually, he joins forces with singer Amarjot Kaur.
Amar Singh Chamkila is set to stream on Netflix from April 12.
