Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim are expected to receive widespread rainfall from March 21 to 24, with isolated areas likely to see heavy to very heavy rainfall on March 21. Parts of Gangetic West Bengal may also experience thundersqualls with wind speeds reaching up to 80 kmph.

According to the latest update at 5:30 am IST, the temperature fluttered at 9.2°C, and humidity stayed at 97 per cent with no wind activity recorded. Residents are expected to stay cautious during foggy conditions.



Presently classified as a 'Low-Pressure Area,' the weather system is expected to intensify into a 'Well marked Low-Pressure Area' and move north-northwestwards towards Tamil Nadu Coasts during the next 2 days, said the IMD.
