Buck, 65, on Monday (Feb 26) introduced a resolution calling for Harris to convene a cabinet meeting and invoke the 25th Amendment to declare Democrat President Biden, 81, “incapable of executing the duties of his office.”

The VP and a majority of the cabinet would have to agree to oust the president if he&nbsp;is deemed incapable of carrying out his duties, as per section four of the 25th Amendment.&nbsp;

The resolution&nbsp;by the Colorado representative also said that the incumbent president has been “televised wandering aimlessly at events…frequently speaks publicly in an incoherent…manner” and has “repeatedly fallen while walking up stairs”. &nbsp;

As the US gears up for the presidential election, likely to be a rematch between&nbsp;Trump and Biden, polls have shown that most voters have expressed concerns about the incumbent president’s age.&nbsp;

At 81, Biden is the oldest president in US history and would be 86 by the end of a second term, if he wins. However, Trump who is around three and a half years younger than his successor, was also the oldest president in American history by the end of his term.&nbsp;

Not to mention, Trump has also made <a href="https://www.wionews.com/world/us-presidential-election-nikki-haley-questions-trumps-mental-fitness-after-he-confused-her-with-nancy-pelosi-682028">gaffes</a>, been televised wandering aimlessly, speaking incoherently, and struggling&nbsp;to maintain balance while walking.&nbsp;

The appeal by the Trump camp means the case with the significant financial jeopardy it brings, will continue well into the presidential campaign as the Republican looks set to win the nomination race.&nbsp;

The appeal has been made necessary as the order by&nbsp;Judge Engoron has barred Trump and his sons from&nbsp;conducting business in New York: Trump for three years and his sons for two.

Moreover, Trump is barred from applying for loans from any New York chartered or registered financial institution during this period.

"Their complete lack of contrition and remorse borders on pathological," Engoron said of Trump and his two sons during the hearing.&nbsp;

Previously,&nbsp;Trump's legal team had requested a 30-day postponement of enforcement, citing the need for an orderly post-judgment process due to its magnitude. However, Engoron rejected this request.&nbsp;

If Trump is unsuccessful at the appellate division, he can ask the state’s highest court, the Court of Appeals, to consider taking his case.

Despite suffering another setback, Haley has vowed to 'keep fighting' as she is the only other Republican candidate left in the fray as the likes of Vivek Ramaswamy and Ron DeSantis called it quits previously.&nbsp;

“I said earlier this week that no matter what happens in South Carolina, I would continue to run for president,” said Haley.&nbsp;

“I’m a woman of my word,” she added. “I’m not giving up this fight when a majority of Americans disapprove of both Donald Trump and Joe Biden.”

Here, embryos refer to the initial stage of development of a multicellular organism. In humans, the term embryo is used to refer to a pregnancy until the end of the seventh week following conception.

IVF combines egg and sperm to grow embryos in the culture medium until they are implanted in the uterus.

<h2>Alabama Supreme court ruling on embryos</h2>

On Friday (Feb 16), the Alabama Supreme Court ruled that frozen embryos can be considered children under the state's laws, and that they are entitled to the same right as other unborn children.

Passing the 7-2 majority ruling, Justice Jay Mitchell wrote "Unborn children are 'children'… without exception based on developmental stage, physical location, or any other ancillary characteristics".

The ruling by the Alabama Supreme Court was issued in response to wrongful death cases involving destroyed embryos. In 2021, a patient at a fertility clinic in Mobile had allegedly broken into an IVF freezer and dropped several trays containing embryos. The case was brought against the fertility clinic, and after the top court ruling, three couples can now sue the facility for wrongful death.

<h2>Nikki Haley's comments&nbsp;</h2>

On Wednesday (Feb 21), speaking during a TV interview with NBC News, the presidential candidate addressing the Alabama court ruling remarked, "Embryos, to me, are babies."

"When you talk about an embryo, you are talking about, to me, that's a life. And so I do see where that’s coming from when they talk about that," said Haley.
