<p>&quot;Dubai Public Prosecution stressed that all regular procedures followed in such cases have been completed. As per the forensic report, the death of the Indian actress occurred due to accidental drowning following loss of consciousness. The case has now been closed.&quot;</p>

<p>In its statement, the family said her body will be kept at Celebration Sports Club in Lokhandwala near her home for people to pay their last respects from 9. 30 a.m. To 12.30 p.m. Wednesday before it is taken for cremation.</p>

<p>And the way heroes talk about their leading ladies would make even the most misogynistic pervert blush. I remember a top leading lady of the 1960s telling me about this he-man hero, a pukka ladies&#39; man who would sit with his cronies on the set discussing his amorous exploits. One of them would turn the pages of a film magazine and point quizzically at the picture of every heroine featured. The he-man would nod in the affirmative or shake his head in the negative to indicate whether he had &#39;done&#39; her or not.</p>

<p>Things haven&#39;t changed. For all the talk of gender equality among the heroes, there is still that backroom boys&#39; talk about women that goes on in secret. There is a top-notch action hero of today, married to one of the most distinguished actresses of our times, who is in the habit of discussing lurid details of his heroines&#39; bedroom activities with him. Who needs porn when you can get it straight from stud&#39;s mouth?</p>

<p>Wait, don&#39;t wince yet. There are so many stories I&#39;ve heard about Dutt&#39;s adventures with leading ladies. I remember once, when he was shooting in Kolkata, everyone in the City of Joy was talking about how he vanished with the leading lady behind his vanity van for a good 45 minutes. Not inside the van, mind you, but behind. For all we know, Sanju Baba might have been discussing the script with your heroine.</p>

<p>We really don&#39;t need to get judgmental about what grown-up, consenting adults do when they&#39;re not working. But yes, many film families are wary of letting their daughters become part of the film industry.</p>

<p>I don&#39;t know whether Dharmendra threatened to break his eldest daughter&#39;s leg to keep her completely out of the limelight. The fact is, while the two sons - Sunny and Bobby Deol - were groomed to follow in their father&#39;s footsteps, we&#39;ve never seen Dharmedra&#39;s daughter from his first marriage in even a photograph.</p>

<p>I know for a fact that Dharam ji - a gem of a man in other ways but not quite the epitome of the liberal Indian male - didn&#39;t&#39; want his daughters from his second marriage with Hema Malini to become actresses. But Hemaji is made of sterner stuff than many star-wives who simply comply with their husband&#39;s patriarchal decisions.</p>

<p>I know for a fact that even today, girls from film families have to fight prolonged battles with their parents before getting into movies. Please note, Shah Rukh Khan&#39;s son is being readied for stardom. His daughter, we are told, is not keen on a movie career. And, I wonder if Boney Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan&#39;s daughters would be poised for a movie career if they didn&#39;t have persuasive, assertive actresses (Amrita Singh and Sridevi) for moms.</p>

<p>Before I leave you with that sobering thought, I must tell you about an incident that happened when Nawazuddin Siddiqui came home for dinner. His baby girl was just born and he proudly showed me her picture.</p>

Opinion: Many movie stars don't want their daughters in Bollywood. Here is why.

<p><em><a href="http://www.bollywoodlife.com/movies/Mom/" target="_blank">Mom</a></em>&nbsp;releases tomorrow and the ones who have already watched the film have only good things to say about it. While people applauded the story and direction, it is&nbsp;<a href="http://www.bollywoodlife.com/celeb/sridevi/" target="_blank">Sridevi</a>&lsquo;s flawless performance that has everyone clap loudly. We have compiled a few reviews for you to decided whether or not to watch the film this weekend.</p>

<p><strong>TOI</strong> in their 4-star review called Sridevi &lsquo;High Priestess&rsquo;: &ldquo;In her 300th landmark movie (coincidentally produced by her husband Boney Kapoor) Sri demonstrates why she is the high-priestess of desi cinema. Here she turns in a captivating performance; happiness, helplessness, vendetta and victory, she walks you through the entire gamut of emotions with panache. Supporting her ably is her onscreen husband Anand (Adnan), who plays the polished gent with flair. Nawazuddin, with his quirks and one-liners, turns in a class act and Akshaye Khanna, who is in terrific form here, forces you to ponder why he takes such long matinee breaks.&rdquo;&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>Mid-Day</strong> gave it 3&nbsp;stars and said that the actress makes the film special: &ldquo;From an audience&rsquo;s perspective, what will make this most special still is Sridevi. Despite a phenomenally prolific career &mdash; especially when stars have become so publicly accessible &mdash; it&rsquo;s astounding how she&rsquo;s managed to maintain an irresistible mystique around herself.&nbsp;It&rsquo;s a big deal to see her on screen, let alone that there are hardly any worthwhile scripts with a woman at 53 in the lead. If there was one, it would be written for Sridevi &mdash; undoubtedly the female Amitabh Bachchan of her times. And she gives it her all. Speaking of which, Bachchan&rsquo;s done &lsquo;Paa&rsquo;, it&rsquo;s only fair that &lsquo;Mom&rsquo; is Sri&rsquo;s movie.</p>

<p><strong>Mumbai Mirror</strong>&nbsp;went for 3.5 stars have credited her for evolving with time: &ldquo;In the eponymous role, Sridevi conveys distraught and determination like few others. The actor who clocks 300 with this film, ruled over Hindi cinema at a time when nothing was left to the imagination and subtlety wasn&rsquo;t a virtue worth upholding. But keeping up with the times, she has embraced the realistic approach to her craft and effectively manages to convey her character&rsquo;s state of mind through the film. If anyone but Nawazuddin Siddiqui was cast to play DK, it would come across as an imitation of a funny voice. But Nawaz takes that funny voice and makes it his own and it seems to belong. Pakistani actor Sajal Ali, whose character endures physical abuse, is effective in communicating the psychological residue of the traumatic act through her performance. Akshaye Khanna as the intuitive crime branch inspector Mathew Francis sticks to his lopsided expressions and is unobjectionable.&rdquo;</p>

<p>Pakistani actress Sajal Ali will be making her Bollywood debut with &#39;MOM&#39;. The twenty-three-year-old actress started her career in Pakistani TV serials eight years ago making her TV debut in a comedy drama <em>Nadaaniyan.</em> &nbsp;</p>

<p>MOM is&nbsp;directed by Ravi Udyawar who had earlier directed India&#39;s first underwater music video&nbsp;Silk Route&rsquo;s <em>Dooba Dooba&nbsp;</em>in 1998.&nbsp;</p>
