Daniel Craig may have gone global with his stint as the British spy James Bond but there was a time when he had wanted to be a part of and even auditioned for an Indian iconic movie, ‘Rang de Basanti’ (RDB), claims director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra in his autobiography ‘The Stranger in the Mirror’.

“I remember vividly that one of the people who auditioned for the part of James McKinley, the young jailor who walks Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev to be hanged, was none other than current James Bond, Daniel Craig… Daniel Craig was my first choice but he requested if we could allow some time as he was also being considered to be the next James Bond. The rest, as they say, is history,” Mehra wrote.

Back in the day, Mehra wanted to create world cinema and had managed to get executive producers David Reid and Adam Bowling on board. The duo has two cult classics—'Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels' (1998) and 'Snatch' (2000)—behind them.

The London-based executive producers loved the script of ‘RDB’ and put up their houses for rent while they moved to India to set up the film. “They were responsible for casting Alice Patten and Steven Mackintosh for the parts of Sue and James McKinley, respectively,” says Mehra.

Mehra went on to reveal that he had almost finalized Peter Gabriel—one of the founding members of the British band genesis—but something inside of him said that he should go with A.R. Rahman instead.

“The music of RDB was the soul of the film; the songs AR created became de facto national anthems,” said the ace director.

Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap’s directorial venture ‘Ghost Stories’ has landed in troubled waters after a complaint against the four-piece anthology—which released last year on video-streaming giant Netflix—was filed.

According to reports, this complaint happens to be the first to come under the Information Technology (Guidelines for Intermediaries and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules 2021 that was framed in February this year by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

As per the new rules, streaming platforms are mandated to have a redressal mechanism to address viewers’ grievances and based on that, a complaint has been filed and received by Netflix India against an allegedly objectionable scene in Anurag Kashyap’s short film, ‘Story 2’, reports claim.

The complaint states that in the scene where actor Sobhita Dhulipala can be seen devouring the fetus from her miscarriage is not required for the narrative and if the makers wish to retain it, then there should be a trigger warning for women who have gone through the trauma of miscarriage.

This untitled project is based on a series of true events and will witness Aditya Roy Kapur taking on a dual role for the very first time where he will be essaying two distinct personas on screen. Directed by debutant director Vardhan Ketkar, the Hindi remake is set to go on floors in September this year. Aditya Roy Kapur said in a statement, “I am inspired and excited to be part of telling such an interesting story. The original film was incredibly riveting and entertaining, and it left a lasting impression on me. As an actor, getting a chance to do a double role is double the preparation and double the challenge, and I’m certainly up for it! I look forward to collaborating with Bhushanji, Murad Bhai, and Vardhan to bring this exciting thriller to the screen soon.” View this post on Instagram A post shared by @adityaroykapur × The film is being produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series and Murad Khetani’s Cine1 Studios.

“To be a mother is the greatest gift of life,” is cunning yet mean-no-harm driver Bhanu’s (Pankaj Tripathi) cue line for luring small-town Bollywood aspirant Mimi into the unknown world of surrogacy. She is tall, a gracious dancer, and a self-proclaimed ‘threat’ to all the Bollywood actresses she daydreams of dethroning as and when her lady luck shines. But, her Mumbai contact leaves no stone unturned to let the feisty belle know filmy dreams don’t come cheap: five lakh rupees for a photoshoot with Dabbo Ratnani and eight to ten lakh rupees for making her ‘viral dance video’ with T-Series.

At 25, Mimi is restless for her big break and hard-pressed for money to realise it. “Beej unka, khet tumhara (their seed, your field),” Bhanu assures Mimi and thus begins her journey of surrogacy with an American couple. A few naive choices, a ghastly revelation and some hilarious satirical settings later, the titular character ends up with a protruding belly and some broken ties, and dreams.

‘Mimi’—from outward observations—is an ode to all those faceless mothers who are often abandoned by their firaang bailouts in heartland India.

Director Laxman Utekar’s take on surrogacy is poignancy personified, laced with humour and socially relevant issues serving as undercurrents. What sticks out in this Hindi adaptation of the Marathi film ‘Mala Aai Vhhaychy!’ is that Utekar’s Mimi—despite a conventional setting with Rajasthan as its backdrop—never reaches out for a saviour to rescue nor is she portrayed as a damsel-in-distress even in the film’s darkest sequences. The character is chalked out as a fearless, headstrong feminist: a trope that the Indian audience needs to some getting used to, but is a welcome change nonetheless.

‘Mimi’ dabbles between surrogacy and its repercussions, and the taboo around single motherhood in the country. It, also, briefly touches upon adoption and fair-skin obsession that is rampant in India even to this day. The hindrance lies not in the fact that Utekar has brought to light these glaring issues on a global platform like Netflix—frankly, it’s the need of the hour!—but the hindrance lies in the fact that he has crammed in too many subtexts all at once. The intent is noble, but the route taken to reach that road is bumpy and superficial.

Over the years, Kriti Sanon has exhibited drastic changes—all positive—in her on-screen image and has swapped naachna-gaana parts for rounded, meaningful roles like ‘Luka Chuppi’, for instance. ‘Mimi’, quite understandably, is her attempt to establish herself as a standalone actor, not just a pretty heroine. The formula works for Sanon, mostly. In summarising her depiction of the varied shades of her Mimi, two scenes come to mind. The first one is right after the birth of her baby, when she says nothing at all and emotes through twitching her eye brows and a blank expression that gives away her internal monologue—there wasn’t one, by the way. The second one is when a dramatic background score deafens the viewers while a dejected Sanon dabs unflattering amount of talcum powder—again, a subtle small-town reference—on her face and screams out in pain: for having lost a shot at life, for what could have been. In that regard, Kriti Sanon has arrived.

Manoj Pahwa, Supriya Pathak and Pankaj Tripathi have their moments of glory in patches like any good actor would in a character-actor part. But, were these actors given the kind of parallel roles they deserved to elevate the script? No. Is that a pity? Well, yes.

It would be criminal to discredit Marathi actress Sai Tamhankar’s sincere rendition of the docile and demure Shama. If anything, Sai adds optimal amount of gravitas to the otherwise—occasionally—haphazard narrative.

‘Mimi’ chooses humour and irony to tackle the grave issue of would-be surrogate parents chickening out on simple, unsuspecting Indian girls from deep pockets of the nation. The tone of this dramedy makes one wonder: If an outrageously good-looking and fiercely independent girl can fall prey to the trappings of ‘a rented womb’, what chances do all those other real, not-so-fortunate Mimis have in this brutal world?

He was quoted as saying, “Those who decided to take offence at what I said about Dilip Saab should have read the entire article and they would have realised that my praise, though conditional, for his acting chops was nothing less than glowing. I practically ran out of superlatives when describing his acting abilities. My 'complaint' had nothing to do with that at all. However, the reaction of people who choose to see meanings where there are none doesn't bother me... I said what I had to say, and if I hadn't meant it I wouldn't have said it.”

He also said that there has never been any feud between him and Dilip Saab (as he was fondly called) and that it was all media’s doing. "The supposed problems we had during the making of a film which I'd rather forget was all the invention of the media and some vested interests who made our working together sound like some sort of acting duel that was to take place, when considering the nature of our respective roles. I actually didn't stand a chance. All this fanned the non-existent flames when the fact was we hardly even met including in the scenes we had together. I don’t consider acting to be a contest or a game of one-upmanship and I was far from happy with all the talk of Dilip Kumar versus me. I have never denied that it was my childhood dream to act with and not opposite him,” said Shah.
For the uninitiated, Dilip Kumar died in the early hours of July 7 after a prolonged illness at a private hospital in Mumbai.

In the aforementioned op-ed, Shah had said, “Some of those works doubtless will survive the test of time but, given the position he was in, it is more than evident he didn’t do enough apart from acting and being involved in social causes close to his heart. He produced only one film, didn’t direct any (officially at least), never passed on the benefit of his experience, didn’t bother to groom anyone, and apart from his pre-1970s performances, left behind no significant lessons for future actors; even his autobiography is but a rehash of old interviews.”

“…It’s baffling why a man as conscious of his place in history as he was should be reluctant to record his interaction with some of the admittedly great filmmakers of his time or say anything really informative about the nature of his work and technique. I wish, at some point, he had at least been forthright about the travails involved in retaining legions of devoted fans,” he had added.

Ace badminton player Saina Nehwal's biopic 'Saina' featuring Parineeti Chopra received mix response from masses as well as critics when it released in theatres earlier this year in theatres. Now, the film is gearing up for a television premiere, and Parineeti couldn't be happier.

Parineeti said watching the movie on TV would be a fulfilling experience. Speaking to a media outlet, Parineeti recalled the days she had trained for the film.

While sharing her experience, Parineeti said, "`Saina` has inspired millions and it was extremely fulfilling to play her on screen. It took blood and sweat to transform myself. I vividly remember spending my days as an athlete and even crying out of pain on the court. But it was all worth it. Saina Nehwal was my initial guiding force. Priyanka Chopra even gave me pointers on how to mould myself for the role, since she played a sports character in the past."

Meanwhile Saina Nehwal said it was surreal to see her own life on screen. She was delighted looking at Amole Gupte`s creative vision, Parineeti and child actor Naishaa`s portrayal of her character.

"This experience of re-watching my journey has made me realise that sure, hard work and talent is what drives you to live your dreams, but one of the most important aspects is the support system. I am indebted to my parents, my husband and coaches as without them, my life wouldn`t be the same. They constantly motivated me and pushed me to chase my dreams, and that`s what kept me going on the most difficult days. I can only hope that my story will positively motivate young dreamers to go all out in the pursuit of their dreams," said Saina.

Directed by Amole Gupte, the movie featured the brilliant Parineeti Chopra donning the role of Saina along with the remarkable Manav Kaul, Meghana Malik and Eshan Naqvi in pivotal roles. The film will premiere on July 25 on Zee Cinema.

Indian singer, music producer and performer, Sona Mohapatra, makes her debut appearance on the Times Square Billboard in New York today.

She has been handpicked as part of a campaign by a music-streaming platform, and will lead the Indian leg of the global campaign for the entire month of July. Her single‘Aise Na They’ will feature all this month on the platform’s playlist as she joins other global artists such as are Meryl (France), Bowklylion (Thailand), Nadin Amizah (Indonesia) and Anikv (Russia).

Talking about this ‘milestone’ achievement in her career, Sona Mohapatra said, “To be woken up in the middle of the night to see photographs of my face on a billboard covering a skyscraper in one of my favourite cities New York was a surreal feeling. To be one of the first independent musicians to be given this place is a pop culture milestone because it paves the way for artistic expression of various hues and colours free from cookie-cutter formulas in musical mainstream success. I have been consistently releasing original music for many years, have fought many battles for IP & residuals for artists and it has been exhilarating...”

She also wrote a heartfelt note Instagram about her dream debut. “To be on a Times Square, #NewYork City billboard is a #popculture milestone for any artist. To be the face of a message for a more EQUAL world an honour. Happy to toot my own horn by saying that yes, I’m possibly the rare if not first independent artist to be here on my own hustle with some incredible allies. Thank you @spotifyindia @spotify , Padmanabhan NS , Tulika & others for their love of artists & thank you @believemusic for your belief.@ramsampathofficial you are the wind beneath my wings. @dilipmohapatra you give me my fighting spirit & crazy need for attention to details , Nayantara Mohapatra you are my source code of all things good. This is just the beginning of things to come though #India !! (sic)” read the caption of her post in parts.

I have been consistently releasing original music for many years, have fought many battles for IP & residuals for artists and it has been exhilarating...” She also wrote a heartfelt note Instagram about her dream debut.
Bollywood superstar Salman Khan enjoys one of the biggest fan camps in the country and while people love everything done by Bhai—meaning brother, a moniker given to him by his fans—there are some who find his career moves questionable.

In an upcoming interview with his younger brother Arbaaz khan—for an episode of the second season of Arbaaz’s talk show ‘Pinch’—Salman Khan reacts to mean comments trolls have dropped on his posts.

When Arbaaz reads out an especially rude comment to Salman—which read as him being ‘well settled’ after taking the money of his fans and demanded for a refund—the actor was quick to reply, “I didn’t steal any money, I must have stolen hearts.”

Commenting on his acting skills, another user had commented ‘'dikhawe wali acting’ (showboating), Salman said, “Okay, then you do it too. Even to show off, you need a big heart and courage (sic).” He then went on to add that no matter how good of an actor you are, one cannot conceal their true persona forever.

The ‘Radhe’ actor also revealed during the chat that he doesn’t read comments or check likes on his social media posts once he is done publishing them.

He also talked about how a celebrity’s ‘No comment’ comment is blown out of proportion by the media. “People make so much ado of that ‘no comment’ and say that he does not want to speak even though others are willing to talk about it,” he was seen as saying.

Mumbai Police registered a case of extortion and defamation against the 30-year-old complainant and a Thane-based politician a day after a rape case was filed against Bhushan Kumar, the managing director of Indian music company T-Series.

The case was registered on the complaint of Krishan Kumar, the co-owner of T-Series.

On Thursday, DN Nagar Police Station (Mumbai) had registered a rape case against Bhushan Kumar when a 30-year-old woman accused him of raping her repeatedly on the pretext of giving her a job in his company.

The police identified the politician named in Krishan Kumar’s complaint as Mallikarjun Pujari, who allegedly approached Bhushan Kumar in June when he allegedly demanded money. He then threatened Kumar that if the money was not paid, the woman (complainant) would file a case of sexual harassment against him.

T-Series submitted a complaint against the said politician at Amboli Police Station on July 1.

T-Series released a statement on Saturday, saying, “Around same time, Krishan Kumar of T-Series then spoke to Pujari who asked Krishan Kumar to meet him in The Regenza by Tunga hotel at 1 pm on July 5. When Krishan Kumar met him in the hotel, Pujari told him that a woman will file police case against Bhushan Kumar and showed some WhatsApp messages, which were neither from the number of Bhushan Kumar nor from any other member of the T-Series team, and demanded a huge sum of money.”

“As they refused to give them the money, Pujari then colluded with the woman and lodged a case of rape against Bhushan Kumar,” Krishan Kumar reportedly to the police.

On Friday, the Amboli Police registered a case under Sections 386 (extortion), 500 (defamation), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 506(2) of the IPC. The complainant has also submitted audio recordings to police investigating the case in which Pujari could be heard demanding money from them.

However, no arrests have been made so far and the police will verify all the claims made by the complainant, reports claim.

The investigators reportedly said that they will be summoning Pujari and the woman soon to record their statements.

Bhushan Kumar case: Mumbai Police files extortion, defamation case against a politician, complainant

South Indian actress Priyamani has come out in full support of her Bollywood counterpart, Kareena kapoor Khan, and has reportedly defended the actress for her alleged fee-hike demand.

It so happened that when a multilingual, big-budget adaptation of Hindu epic ‘Ramayana’ was announced in 2019, it was reported that Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor Khan was approached for the role of Sita. Later, rumours of Kareena asking for a whopping 12 crore to play the mythological character.

Now, in an interview with an entertainment website, Priyamani said that Kareena must have asked for that kind of money because ‘she deserves it. “Regarding the pay parity I would definitely say that if a woman is asking for what she deserves I think it is because she deserves it. That is her market thing and she deserves it what she is asking for. So I don’t think you should question that… About the pay parity, I don’t think there is anything wrong… What I’m saying is if a female especially is asking for how much ever amount she is asking for, I think she very well deserves it. So I don’t think there’s anything wrong. These ladies have reached a point where they can say what they want to… You can’t make a comment on that person just because you think that it’s wrong that doesn’t mean that the person doesn’t deserve it (sic),” the actress was quoted as saying.

Earlier, the write of this mythological drama, K V Vijayendra Prasad, had clarified that Kareena has not been finalized for the role yet. Interestingly, some reports of Deepika Padukone also being considered for the role started doing the rounds. There’s no confirmation or denial on that as well.

For this untitled project, South Indian superstar Mahesh Babu will take on the role of Lord Rama while Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan is most likely to play the mythologival anti-hero Ravana, reports claim.

This multi-starrer, big-budget film will be produced by Madhu, Allu Arvind and Namit Malhotra and will be shot in 3D.

Apart from Hindi, the movie will also be released in Tamil and Telugu languages.

Bollywood actor and theatre personality Rajit Kapoor revealed in a recent interview that Surekha Sikri, who died on Friday morning following a cardiac arrest, was upset for not getting great parts.

“Unfortunately, not many people knew what a firehouse she was, that her theatre colleagues knew. I also know that good looks came in the way so often with her. She was never given a great part since she wasn’t beautiful in the conventional sense and that used to upset her a lot in the middle. But soon she stopped caring about it. A performer like her needs to be given a salute,” Kapoor was quoted as saying. She had been unwell for several months, and had suffered a brain stroke in 2020. In 2020, she was admitted to hospital after suffering a brain stroke. It was reported at the time that she was also going through a tough time financially, which she later denied. “That was incorrectly put out in the press. Surekhaji has her own finances and the family, including her son, is by her side. There is no need for financial assistance for now. Many of her well-wishers, colleagues and filmmakers were kind enough to offer financial assistance. They have been informed that the family is taking care of everything and giving her the best possible treatment. We would like to acknowledge everyone who reached out to us," her manager had told a Mumbai-based tabloid at the time. Surekha Sikri was a film, television and theatre personality who made her debut in 1978, with the film 'Kissa Kursi Ka'. She won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress thrice for her roles in Tamas (1988), Mammo (1995) and Badhaai Ho (2018). She became a household name for her performance in the primtetime soap opera 'Balika Vadhu'. Her performance in the Ayushmann Khurrana-starrer 'Badhaai Ho' earned her rave reviews and was also touted to be her big Bollywood comeback.

The recently released Netflix film ‘Haseen Dillruba’ may have received lukewarm response from film critics but that did not prevent it from garnering accolades from fans the world over.

Netflix viewers in over 22 countries have watched the movie enough times to make it trend on the subscription-based video streaming service’s application, reports claim.

Talking about the ‘far and wide’ reach of her latest outing, Taapsee said in a statement, “It's a very new feeling for me to see Haseen Dillruba reaching an audience around the world the way it has because I have never had a straight to OTT release before this, so I was excited for the debut and it has been fabulous. I think I have been very lucky with my debuts; my struggle only begins after that. Thanks to Netflix this film reached places that I never knew Hindi films could reach. The film was trending across 22 countries for over a week, as far out as South America, which is amazing. I am still trying to wrap my head around how exactly one feels when their film reaches so far and wide, getting so many messages from people in different parts of the world, in so many different languages. Many times I’ve had to translate to understand what they are saying. But success always feels so sweet. And I am thankful to audiences for the love they have poured on this film and me.”

“I believe the film resonated with so many people because it was based in a small city in the heart of India featuring characters that were flawed and grey, which resonates with the majority of the audience. When we see an on-screen representation of something like this, a part of us relates to the character as we are so used to watching stories of only positive and pious heroes who can do no wrong. It's refreshing to see such relatable stories about flawed people, and this shift in audience choice is such a welcome sign. Now, it's about keeping the audience on the edge of their seats, entertained, hooked and involved, which is what this film does well, having characters who are unconventional yet relatable,” concluded the actress.

Directed by Vinil Mathew, of ‘Hasee Toh Phasee’ fame, and written by ‘Kanika Dhillon’, known for ‘Guilty’ and ‘Manmarziyaan’, ‘Haseen Dillruba’ is an old-school Hindi murder-mystery film starring Bollywood actors Taapsee Pannu, Vikrant Massey and Harshvardhan Rane.
Surekha Sikri (1945-2021): Revisiting her most memorable roles on screen

Just when we started to think that none of the Bollywood actresses, who have previously walked the red carpet at Cannes, have made an appearance at the 74th edition of Cannes Film Festival, Bollywood actress Amy Jackson surprised her with her photos. Recently, the actress posted a few pictures of her red-carpet look from the event looking ravishing as ever.

Jackson wore an off-shoulder burgundy gown for the festival and completed her look with a statement neckpiece and matching studs. Her hair was tied in a low ponytail and she kept her make-up clean and let the eye-catching outfit do the talking. Sharing pictures from her visit, Amy Jackson took to her Instagram account and wrote, “The red carpet moment. The red carpet moment.”

While there hasn't been an official confirmation, National Award winning documentary filmmaker Trisha Das' book 'Ms Draupadi Kuru' is in the pipeline to get a feature adaptation and she's waiting anxiously for it to materialise. Opening up about what's keeping this young author cum filmmaker busy during the pandemic, Trisha Das, sister to popular comedian Vir Das is happy making stories for those who want to read.

WION: How do you feel about your book being adapted into a feature?

Trisha: Nothing is final yet so I’m keeping my fingers crossed. Ms. Draupadi Kuru and The Misters Kuru both lend themselves very well to the screen and obviously, a lot of people are invested in these characters, including me. Meanwhile, I’m focusing on the release of The Misters Kuru, a sequel that’s been long due and so far I am very happy to see rave reviews.

WION: What was the thought process behind this book that is based in mythology and yet reads to the present audience?

Trisha: Ms Draupadi Kuru, the first book in the duo, was released in 2016 after I spent five years writing it. I’ve always loved mythology. However, I was always irritated at the treatment of women in mythological stories. I thought about what it’d be like if the same women were given a shot at another life, one set in the modern world, with all the opportunities and challenges that come with it. If they were given choices, instead of being told what to do. Once I plotted a story about the women – Draupadi, Kunti, Gandhari, and Amba – I started thinking about the men, specifically the Pandavas, and wondering what kind of choices they’d make if they were given a second chance as well. That’s how I came to write the books.

WION: Did you ever fear getting slammed for your take on mythology?

Trisha: I did get slammed, by people who hadn’t read the book. All kinds of vile things were posted online. However, my readers understood that the books come out of a place of love for the Mahabharata – they’re basically a kind of fan-fiction. I’m not trying to slander these characters, I’m trying to reinvent them, make them relevant to a younger crowd.

WION: How difficult is it to write mythology fiction without hurting sentiments of people?

Trisha: It’s almost impossible to avoid hurting people’s sentiments, irrespective of what you write or create as an artist. With mythological fiction, people are obviously very familiar with the details and the characters so it makes it doubly hard. That said, there are also people out there who are tired of rehashed mythology and want to see something fresh and different. I’ve heard some amazing stories from my readers – a young reader whose first introduction to the Mahabharata came from Ms. Draupadi Kuru, another reader who read the books while in hospital and they helped her with a difficult time in life. So there is a lot more good than bad and it’s worth it for that.

WION: What are you busy with during the pandemic?

Trisha: I’ve been walking a lot. It’s almost funny how much of an appreciation I’ve developed for fresh air. Other than that, I’ve been busy with family and writing. It’s been a difficult time obviously, especially for a lot of our extended family and friends. Writing has always been a form of therapy and it’s helped me maintain my mental health this last year and a half.

WION: Any future projects you'd like to discuss

Trisha: I’m working on two novels right now. One is an alternate history novel where I re-imagine hundreds of years of Indian history and the other is a romantic comedy set in Delhi. I decided to write the rom-com because I felt I needed something happy, light, and heart-warming to help cope with all the gloom and doom around us. I know many of my readers feel the same way.

With Outsiders Films, I aim to give back to the industry and empower talent who’re looking for a breakthrough and come with no background like me. Pranjal and I together look forward to opening doors for new and fresh talents, both in front and behind the camera… Hence, I always thought of setting my own production house. The audience and the industry have given me a lot of support and love over the 11 years of my career,” Taapsee said in a statement.

Bollywood actor Taapsee Pannu has launched her own production house—‘Outsiders Films’—and would like to ‘empower talent’ who are looking for a break with no film ‘background’ like her, she said in a statement. The ‘Haseen Dillruba’ actress launched this venture in collaboration with Pranjal Khandhdiya, a producer and content creator with over 20 years of experience. Khandhdiya has been involved in the production of well-known films like ‘Super 30’, ‘83’, ‘Soorma’, ‘Piku’, ‘Mubarakan’, ‘Azhar’ among others. “I’m thrilled to embark upon this new journey and diversify my love for cinema with my production house. Sonam Kapoor gets teary-eyed on meeting father Anil Kapoor as she returns to Mumbai

It was reported earlier in the week that Bollywood actor and entrepreneur Suniel Shetty, who lives in an apartment complex in Mumbai called ‘Prithvi Apartments’, has been sealed by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) after five cases of Coronavirus were detected in the building. Out of those five cases that have tested positive for the virus, three of them are of Delta variant, claimed reports.

On Monday late evening, Shetty took to Twitter to reject those claims and called the various news reports that have been floating around as 'fake'. The actor said that while a notice has been put up on one wing, the entire building has not been sealed.

"Wow! Must say that fake news spreads quicker than any virus. People, pls don't spread panic. There's NO Delta Variant' in my building society. Just one COVID+ case & the patient is recuperating at Breach Candy hospital. The others are currently negative and self quarantined," he wrote.
