Ramiz added, "Another statement that made me angry was Mr Chairman telling the press they want to organise PSL season 9 in UAE because there are issues with taxation in Pakistan," said Raja. "At one hand you’re saying that Pakistan is safe for cricket regarding Asia Cup but on the other hand you are saying that PSL should not be conducted in Pakistan, how does that make sense?"

While PCB remains eager to host the Asia Cup in Pakistan, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) is looking to conduct the tournament at a neutral location before the ICC ODI World Cup, later this year in India.

Moreover, under the latest proposed model, the Indian cricket board is expected to earn an aggregate earning of $924 million in the four-year cycle (subject to ICC aggregate earnings continuing at $600 million annually), which will be nearly 82% more than second-highest earner - the ECB that will pocket around $165 million over the cycle. Earlier, after allotting Pakistan the chance to host the Asia Cup for the first time since 2008, Jay Shah - who is BCCI and also ACC’s president, said the Indian team will not travel to Pakistan for the same and instead backed the idea of hosting the event outside the country.&nbsp;

India's wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant is set to miss the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup as he still is away from full recovery following a horrible car accident in December 2022.

Pant will also be missing the World Test Championship (WTC) final to be played against Australia in England in June and so as Asia Cup. The developments are part of a report by the media outlet Cricbuzz which also says that Pant is still seven to eight months away from being able to start playing cricket again.

On a positive side, the reports also says that the left-handed batsman is recuperating faster than expected and will be able to walk without the crutches in span of a couple of weeks. Nonetheless, a return to cricket in January 2024 would mean an year of absence for Pant who had established himself as India's first choice wicketkeeper in Tests at least.

Given Pant's absence, KL Rahul could be India's designated keeper-batsman in ODIs for the World Cup and Asia Cup while players like Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan could also find themselves in the mix.

Pant was first taken to a local hospital for trauma treatment before being shifted to Max Hospital in Dehradun.

BCCI then decided to fly Pant to a Mumbai hospital to undergo a knee surgery. Pant could need another surgery as per the report. India will definitely be missing Pant's expertise in Tests for sure where he has an envious record. In the 33 matches he has played so far, Pant has scored 2,271 runs at an average of 43.67 with five hundreds and 11 half-centuries.

His most notable innings was of 89 not out with which he led a second-string India side to victory over Australia at their fortress Gabba in the final match of the Border-Gavaskar series in 2021.&nbsp;

WTC Final, 2023: BCCI announces squad, Ajinkya Rahane makes a comeback

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced Team India's 15-man squad for the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final versus Australia, which will be held next month at The Oval, London. In the 15-member squad, Ajinkya Rahane made a comeback into the national side on the back of a decent run in the Ranji Trophy 2022/23 edition and his recent success in the ongoing IPL 2023 edition for Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Rahane's comeback was mainly possible after Shreyas Iyer got injured, due to his persistent back issues, and Rohit Sharma &amp; Co. will bank on him in the English conditions given his overall experience. Many former cricketers and experts have shared their take on Rahane's return. MSK Prasad, former Indian chief selector, also joined the bandwagon and gave a thumbs up to the former Indian Test vice-captain's return.&nbsp;

Speaking to IndiaToday, Prasad said, "It’s a fair team, it’s the right call. Ajinkya&nbsp;with so much of uncertainty in the middle-order, I think they (selectors) were absolutely right. I am very, very happy for him. He has always been a wonderful performer for India in the away series. And I think he fits the bill perfectly. Full credit to the selectors for bringing him back."

The Games were originally scheduled to take place from 10 to 25 September 2022; the event was postponed to 2023 on 6 May 2022 due to concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic in China, amid the potential threat of new variants. The BCCI has said that they have prior commitments to fulfill and also have Asia Cup to deal with before they prepare to host the ODI World Cup.

“We have entries in all sports except one – cricket (team) isn’t going,” India’s chef de mission for the Asian Games, Bhupender Bajwa, told The Indian Express.

“They said they are preoccupied. We sent 3-4 emails to them but when we had to send entries to the organisers, they said they won’t go.”

A BCCI official confirmed the development but added that they received the email from the Indian Olympic Association just ‘one day before the deadline’.

“We had received the mail from IOA just one day before the deadline. At the same time, the BCCI already has finalised the FTP for women’s cricket. During the Asian Games, our team won’t be available as they will be playing in a tournament,” the BCCI official said.

Kohli, after Dube got out, was seen punching the air and being really energetic about it.

"We will not lose our hosting rights. Security is no excuse for them now and we have told them if their government is not giving them clearance to play in Pakistan, show us some written proof of this," Sethi added.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Indian Premier League (IPL) chairman Arun Dhumal are planning to revamp the Women’s Premier League (WPL) for the second edition. The current expansion plans include the home and away format which will see teams make away trips rather than playing the entire season in one city. This was the case for season 1 when the entire WPL took place in Mumbai.

"Well begun is half done. It has been a great beginning for WPL and going forward it is going to be much better than what we have seen so far. We have started with five teams but going forward there is scope for an additional team given the pool of the players that is going to come in the years to follow.

"We are hoping increase in the number of teams but for the coming three seasons will remain five. We are surely looking at home and away format, we will see which time slot is available considering India's international commitment and take a call.

"From a fan engagement point of view it is very important that we go for home and away format," Dhumal told PTI.

The WPL season one was a huge hit with five teams participating the inaugural edition of the tournament. The BCCI is also planning to expand the tournament as it tries to carry out a revolution in Women’s games, but that won’t happen until the 2026 edition. BCCI earned a whopping close to Rs 4700 crore for team rights and Rs 951 crore for media rights for WPL.

"It has been a phenomenal ride so far and quite a challenging one given the time slot we had to start the WPL. We are satisfied with the way things have progressed, we did not have much of a window as the World Cup was there and the girls had just about a week to come back and start.

The current expansion plans include the home and away format which will see teams make away trips rather than playing the entire season in one city. This was the case for season 1 when the entire WPL took place in Mumbai. "Well begun is half done. It has been a great beginning for WPL and going forward it is going to be much better than what we have seen so far. We have started with five teams but going forward there is scope for an additional team given the pool of the players that is going to come in the years to follow. "We are hoping increase in the number of teams but for the coming three seasons will remain five. We are surely looking at home and away format, we will see which time slot is available considering India's international commitment and take a call. "From a fan engagement point of view it is very important that we go for home and away format," Dhumal told PTI. The WPL season one was a huge hit with five teams participating the inaugural edition of the tournament. The BCCI is also planning to expand the tournament as it tries to carry out a revolution in Women’s games, but that won’t happen until the 2026 edition. BCCI earned a whopping close to Rs 4700 crore for team rights and Rs 951 crore for media rights for WPL. "It has been a phenomenal ride so far and quite a challenging one given the time slot we had to start the WPL.
