In an interview with news agency, the actress spoke about the overarching theme of love in the film and why people go crazy when in love.

"The real truest love pulls out your best self. It's what you value, what you're loyal to and what you're willing to fight for. So I think that truest love does that, and I think for Maleficient - it's the surprise that she didn't realize that she had it in her," she said.

The 44-year-old actress who recently found herself in custody battles with ex-husband Brad Pitt also opened up about how she felt during the period since her divorce and the parallels between herself and the upcoming film character.

Reacting to her character in the upcoming film which people describe as cold and evil, she said, "I think Maleficent is wild, I think there is that thing in all of us that is just not safe and not fine, that wants to just have fun and be our best self".

"There have been times in my life where I have felt - and maybe I've hidden them well from the public - where I have not felt free, I have not felt safe, I have not felt like free of harm.

I have felt small. I have felt cornered. And it has taken a lot to find that again, probably more of that today than I was in the last four years," she added.

Ultimately, it's her kids who have helped her rediscover herself. Jolie is a mother to Shiloh, Vivienne Marcheline, Pax Thienn, Maddox Chivan, Zahara Marley, and Knox Leon Jolie-Pitt.
"It was actually really freeing just to expose the ugly sides of yourself. There`s great value in that," Pitt added.
The actor has spent a lot of time looking inward lately, especially as he prepared for his role in `Ad Astra`, a film about an astronaut in search of his father (Tommy Lee Jones). He channelled a lot from his own father for the performance, Pitt said, adding that he has reached a point where he sees his father in every role he plays now."I grew up with that be-capable, be-strong, don`t-show-weakness thing," Pitt said of his father, who owned a truck company.

"In some ways, I`m copying him. He had grown up in extreme hardship and poverty, always dead set on giving me a better life than he had -- and he did it. But he came from that stoic ilk," he added.

Pitt also acknowledged that he used some of his own personal struggles for his role of Roy McBride in `Ad Astra`. Pitt bagged the role just months after Jolie`s divorce filing."I had family stuff going on. We`ll leave it at that. The fact is, we all carry pain, grief and loss. We spend most of our time hiding it, but it`s there, it`s in you. So you open up those boxes," he said.

Pitt also spoke out about how the media`s attention early on in his career forced him to retreat."In the `90s, all that attention really threw me. It was really uncomfortable for me, the cacophony of expectations and judgments. I really became a bit of a hermit and just bonged myself into oblivion," Pitt said.
American actor Brad Pitt recently opened up about his journey to sobriety, and what he had learned from a year-and-a-half in an all-male Alcoholics Anonymous group. The actor, who seemed to be at his candid best, revealed some intimate details about his life in an interview with The New York Times recently. The 55-year-old star looked back on his decision to give up drinking, which came after his split from ex-wife Angelina Jolie."I had taken things as far as I could take it, so I removed my drinking privilege," Pitt said. The `Once Upon A Time In Hollywood` star said that he started attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, where he shared the most personal parts of his life."You had all these men sitting around being open and honest in a way I have never heard. It was this safe space where there was little judgment, and therefore little judgment of yourself," he said. "It was actually really freeing just to expose the ugly sides of yourself.
Dear Internet, you have competition. Reports claim that Angelina Jolie seems to have moved on after her split with Brad Pitt and now wants to date Internet's latest crush, actor Keanu Reeves!

The 44-year-old actor moved to the Los Feliz neighbourhood in Los Angeles after she parted ways with Brad Pitt nearly three years ago and one of her neighbours happens to Reeves` mother Patricia Taylor.

Apparently, this is all it takes to spark romance rumours between Jolie and Reeves.According to Celebrity Insider, a major outlet is claiming that Jolie has set her sights on the `John Wick` actor so she can move on from her ex-husband and put her life back on track after her divorce.

The `Always Be My Maybe` star is reportedly the first man Jolie has been excited about since meeting Pitt back in 2004 on the sets of 2005 thriller `Mr. & Mrs. Smith`.According to the tabloid, when Jolie became Patricia`s neighbour, the actor allegedly saw this as her chance to get to know Reeves better.
"Keanu`s really close to his mom and visits her all the time. That`s how he came to meet Ange. They found they have a lot in common, and the attraction was definitely there," an insider told Star.

The source also claimed that Reeves has met Jolie`s children - Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne, and Knox and gets along well with them.

The source also added that Patricia is fine with the idea of a relationship between her son and the Oscar-winning actor because she is ready for her son to settle down.Despite all these details from the insider, that may get the fans all excited, Reeves` representative said that there is absolutely no truth to the report. The rep also stated that they sent Star a denial of the story before they published it.

On the work front, Reeves was last seen in `John Wick Chapter 3: Parabellum`. He is all set to start filming for `Bill and Ted Face The Music` later this year. Meanwhile, Jolie will next appear in `Maleficent: Mistress of Evil`, `Come Away`, `Those Who Wish Me Dead` and `The Eternals`.

Angelina Jolie visits Rohingya camps, says their plight 'shames us all'

Angelina Jolie said Tuesday that Myanmar must "show genuine commitment" to end violence that has driven hundreds of thousands of Rohingya Muslims into neighbouring Bangladesh.

The superstar envoy for the UN refugee agency made the comments on the second day of emotional meetings with Rohingya, including rape survivors, in Bangladesh's Cox's Bazar district where some 740,000 Rohingya have taken refuge since August 2017.

There were already about 300,000 in camps before the exodus, which has strained Bangladesh's resources to the limit.

The visit came ahead of a new UN appeal to raise nearly one billion dollars for the one million Rohingya now in the camps around the town of Cox's Bazar.

"It was deeply upsetting to meet the families who have only known persecution and statelessness their whole lives, who speak of being 'treated like cattle'," Jolie told reporters.

"The Rohingya families I have met are no different from other refugees in one crucial respect: they want to be able to return home," she said.

The latest wave of refugees arrived after a military clampdown in Myanmar's Rakhine state.

Jolie insisted that the refugees should return home "only when they feel safe enough to do so voluntarily and they know that their rights will be respected."

"I met a woman yesterday, a survivor of rape in Myanmar, and she told me, 'You would have to shoot me where I stand before I go back without my rights'," the 43-year-old said.

"The responsibility to ensure those rights and make it possible for the Rohingya people to return to Rakhine state lies squarely with the government and the authorities in Myanmar," she added.

She called for an end to violence in Rakhine, which UN officials have compared to genocide, and demanded action against the perpetrators.

"I urge the Myanmar authorities to show the genuine commitment needed to end the cycle of violence and displacement and improve the conditions for all communities in Rakhine state," she said.

Jolie insisted that the refugees should return home "only when they feel safe enough to do so voluntarily and they know that their rights will be respected." "I met a woman yesterday, a survivor of rape in Myanmar, and she told me, 'You would have to shoot me where I stand before I go back without my rights'," the 43-year-old said. Jolie has previously met with displaced Rohingya while in Myanmar in July 2015 and in India in 2006.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's break up in 2016 had left their fans devastated. Their long-drawn legal battle over the custody of their children has been going on for some time and while there is no chance of the two getting back together, a new romance is reportedly brewing for Brad Pitt and Charlize Theron.

We had earlier reported how Brad and Charlize had been introduced by actor Sean Penn, who is Charlize' ex. The two have been spotted cosying up at various occasions in the recent past, which has just added to the rumour mills. The couple though later denied the news stating that they have known each other for a long time.

Now, Brad Pitt's former bodyguard Kris Herzog has confirmed that the two are indeed dating. Herzog in a tell-all interview to The Sun has revealed that Brad and Charlize have been dating for the last four months but are yet to confirm the news to the world.

“At the minimum, they’re friends with benefits. I spoke to Charlize about four months ago, and she told me Sean Penn had introduced them. I know as a fact they’ve been together for the last four months. I’ve seen them once myself together. They’re definitely dating, but they’re keeping it secret until they work out whether it’s going to be long-term.”

Herzog has also revealed that Brad is wanting to take it slow because of his ex, Angelina Jolie. "Everything Brad does is vetted through how it’s going to affect his relationship with Angelina. Because if he p***es her off, it’s going to f*** up their child custody situation," Herzog further said.

Jolie, in fact, is not pleased about Brad's new relationship. Sources close to the actress stated that she is particularly unhappy because Brad is dating Charlize, her long-standing rival in Hollywood.

“Angelina has never been too warm toward Charlize because they’ve competed for some of the same roles in the past. Angelina would be upset that Brad would ever possibly pursue a relationship with someone he knows his ex-wife isn’t fond of! Just the rumours alone are bothersome to Angelina; she feels like [Brad and Charlize dating] would be a bit of a betrayal. She doesn’t like it at all and hopes it’s not true," the source said.
