In a reckless hit-and-run case on Sunday (May 19) morning, a Porsche with no license plate slammed into a motorcycle at Kalyani Nagar junction, Yerwada in Pune killing two young riders in the western Indian city.

Police identified the deceased as 24-year-old Aneesh Awadhiya and 24-year-old Ashwini Koshta, both IT engineers hailing from the central state of Madhya Pradesh and were residing in Pune.

Akib Mulla, a friend of the deceased, lodged the first information report (FIR) in this case at the Yerwada police station.

A probe is underway to confirm whether the minor was driving under the influence of alcohol.&nbsp;

Amitesh Kumar, Commissioner of Pune city police said, “the accused in this case was a minor and booked for culpable homicide as per provisions of Section 304 the Indian Penal Cod and the Motor Vehicle Act against him."

The police commissioner further added, “actions are being taken against the minor's father under Section 75 and the bar that served them liquor under Section 77 of the Juvenile Justice Act.”

The investigation revealed the teenager boy had recently passed his Class 12 exams and had gone out for a party with his friends.

The group went to a bar and a pub in Mundhwa area, where he was suspected to have consumed liquor.

As per the police’s investigation, the boy was driving the Porsche car at a high speed and he allegedly lost control and the car rammed a motorcycle.

Notably, the video of the accident went viral on social media.

A police team arrived at the spot and detained the minor driver for investigation.

However the police produced the accused boy before the holiday court in Pune on Sunday afternoon and asked for his custody, but the court refused and granted bail to the accused, informed additional commissioner of police Manoj Patil.

Defence attorney Prashant Patil said the court granted his client bail with specific conditions. These included working alongside the Yerwada traffic police for 15 days and writing a reflective essay on the accident.

A team of scientists from Portugal's Gulbenkian Science Institute was trying to understand how a specific protein works in the middle stages of embryo growth.&nbsp;

Embryos at the beginning are only a bundle of identical cells. When they develop, the cells specialise and start forming different body parts. Generally, the development starts from the head and goes back towards the tail. The human embryos also have tails in the early days, however, they disappear after roughly eight weeks.&nbsp;

It is well-known to scientists that in most four-limbed mammals, both the hind limbs and the external genitalia (the penis or clitoris) get&nbsp;developed from the same early structures.

The research team, headed by developmental biologist Moises Mallo, emphasised one particular receptor protein known as Tgfbr1. &nbsp;

Venkataramana Pittala, a 27-year-old Indian studying in the United States,&nbsp;died on Saturday (Mar 9) while riding a jet ski in Florida.&nbsp;He was pursuing a master's degree in health informatics at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI).

According to Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's Capt Dave Dipre, who spoke to Keynews.com, the incident involved a 17-year-old operating a personal watercraft colliding with the one driven by the Indian student,&nbsp;driving over and killing him.

The collision occurred at the waterpark area of Fury Watersports, which is commonly referred to as "Fury Playground" by locals.&nbsp;

A ground worker was killed at the Hong Kong airport after falling from a tow truck and getting struck by an aircraft being pulled behind on Tuesday (Feb 6). As per the police authorities, the victim, involved in this rare accident was a 34-year-old Jordanian national. He was employed in Hong Kong. At the time of meeting with this fatal accident, the victim was in the passenger seat of a tow truck from where he fell. “According to preliminary results, three people died in the fire,” said NEMA, adding that three firefighters had also been killed while 14 people had been sent for medical treatment.&nbsp;

More than 600 firefighters and 100 vehicles were sent to the scene and eventually, the fire was extinguished.

The accident, which took place near the Dunjingarav market in the country’s capital, prompted an evacuation of residents near the site as emergency workers cleaned the debris, said the local officials&nbsp;in a social media post.&nbsp;

Boeing plane carrying 122 passengers in Japan erupts in flames after bird hit

She said that the device from the flight - in which the door had blown off - automatically recorded the pertinent voice data since someone had not been able to power it down. The device started a fresh recording while wiping out the last one in the next two hours.&nbsp;

“The circuit breaker was not pulled,” said Homendy.&nbsp;

Nur Aisyah Binte MD Akbar, 39, and her husband&nbsp;Abdul Rauf Bin Mohd Said, 41, both of Singapore were hiking on the&nbsp;Beacon Hill Trail in the Minnewaska State park&nbsp;in the town of Rochester when the accident took place.&nbsp;

Both stopped to take photos at the edge of the cliff when Binte MD Akbar lost her footing and slipped down the cliff, approximately 70 feet. The husband called 911 which led to multiple agencies converging on the scene for the rescue job.&nbsp;

According to the New York State Police (NYSP), the NYSP Aviation personnel arrived on the scene and hoisted the victim to safety.&nbsp;

"Other responding agencies who assisted in the rescue included NYS Park Police, Park Operations Staff, NYS DEC Forest Rangers, and various Fire and EMT personnel," the police said.&nbsp;

The woman was taken to the hospital where she "succumbed to her injuries". "My heart is broken into pieces and I don’t know how to piece them back together," Bin Mohd Said in a Facebook post.&nbsp;

The police, meanwhile, launched an investigation to find out if there was foul play involved in the accident.&nbsp;

Notably, the&nbsp;Minnewaska State Park is open to the public for hiking, biking, rock climbing and a range of other recreational activities. According to the State Department of Environmental Conservation, the preserve houses white-tailed deer, coyotes, timber rattlesnakes and more than 200 species of birds, attracting huge public footfall.

"At approximately 2:23 p.m. today, a CSX train derailed north of Livingston, KY. Preliminary information indicates that at least 16 cars were involved, including two molten sulphur cars that have been breached and have lost some of their contents which is on fire," the company's statement read.&nbsp;

According to company information shared on its website, when molten sulphur burns it releases sulphur dioxide. The company assured that specialised equipment is being deployed to conduct aerial survey of the affected region.

"CSX is in close contact with the Rockcastle County emergency teams as they continue to assess the situation and we appreciate their swift response. We will work together with the local authorities to secure the area and safety is our top priority as we develop a recovery plan," it added.&nbsp;

"CSX is in close contact with the Rockcastle County emergency teams as they continue to assess the situation and we appreciate their swift response. We will work together with the local authorities to secure the area and safety is our top priority as we develop a recovery plan," it added. Local villagers who blocked the road after the tragedy demanded compensation for the families of the victims and the construction of a service lane along the highway.

“Locals had blocked the road in protest against the accident. However, the highway has now been cleared for traffic. An FIR will be lodged in connection with the accident and action will be taken against those responsible,” he added.

"I saw the airplane coming down the runway quickly I knew that he wasn't gonna have time to stop," Jack Schneider, who witnessed and captured the whole incident, told local news broadcaster WFAA-TV on Saturday.

"It was clearly going too fast, the tyres were smoking."

So far, it has not been revealed as to what caused the accident.

According to reports, the car driver suffered minor injuries and was admitted to a nearby hospital, while the two people in the plane escaped unhurt.

The&nbsp;McKinney Fire Department, in a statement, said that paramedics evaluated all three patients at the scene and transported the car's driver to the hospital with minor injuries.

The McKinney Fire Department said that the flight had originated in Midland, a Texas oilpatch city 330 miles (531 kilometres) west of Dallas.

The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board announced that they are investigating the crash, adding that the NTSB will be in charge of the investigation.

The tunnel intended to link Silkyara to Dandalgaon in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand. It is part of the Char Dham Road Project, the foundation stone of which was laid by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2016. The project was initially slated for completion by March 2020, but the deadline has been extended to December 2024.

In a shocking case of apathy&nbsp;in India’s capital Delhi, a budding 30-year-old filmmaker bled to death on a road as onlookers, instead of taking him to a hospital, were busy recording videos and clicking selfies, with some even&nbsp;stealing his belongings.

The accident happened at 9.45 pm (local time) at a busy stretch connecting IIT crossing and Nehru Place on Tuesday (Oct 31).

For almost half-an-hour, Piyush Pal—who got severe head injuries after his bike collided with another and crashed into a tree—lay bleeding on the busy road of South Delhi even as his life was slowly ebbing away.

Police claimed that they were informed of the accident only at 10.11 pm, Indian Express newspaper reported.

Nobody moved for several minutes until a few concerned persons stepped in to help.

<h2>No one stepped in to help&nbsp;</h2>

Pankaj Mistry, a passerby who was on his bike with his brother, spotted a huge gathering on the road and stopped to check.

“I saw a man on the road, bleeding heavily from his head, with his bike a few metres away. No one bothered to help him, call an ambulance or police,” Mistry told The Indian Express.

Mistry said that he, along with his brother and another person, quickly hailed an auto and took Pal to a nearby clinic.

However, the clinic lacked adequate facilities to treat the injured man, following which they all went to PSRI Hospital, which took them nearly an hour to reach.

At the same time, a police team arrived at the accident spot at 10.30 pm, but found that Pal and another injured were taken to separate hospitals.

<h2>‘If only bystanders had responded quickly</h2>

The police also found that Pal’s mobile phone, wallet and bag were stolen.

“It was only when we reached the hospital that we found Pal’s belongings were not on him,” Mistry added

DCP (South) Chandan Chowdhary said that a case under IPC sections pertaining to rash driving and causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others have been filed.&nbsp;
