Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said that his side still hopes for the top four finish in the English Premier League despite losing the Manchester derby.
Manchester City kept the destination of the league title in its own hands by beating Man Utd 2-0 on Wednesday to climb back above Liverpool with three games left this season.
United slumped to a seventh loss in its last nine matches under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer thanks to strikes in a 12-minute span from Bernardo Silva and substitute Leroy Sane, with United goalkeeper David De Gea partially at fault for both goals.
While Solskjaer said, "Three games away from the end of the season, we're three points behind the top four. No one would have given us a chance two or three months ago and it's been a massive effort by everyone."
"My job to make sure that I have a group, and a squad, and a team that will do that for us. That's my job to find out who wants to sacrifice enough to be here," he added.
The Norwegian said that his side needs to "stick together" and focus on the upcoming matches.
"I'm concerned about the lack of results that we get and in times like these it's not time to point fingers at anyone and blame anyone. We've got to stick together and the strange reality is that we're still in with a shout for the top four," said Solskjaer.
