The 25-year-old Stephens will become the first American other than the Williams sisters break into the top five in the WTA rankings.

World number one Simona Halep is eyeing her first Grand Slam title. She has lost three previous Grand Slam finals, including two at Roland Garros in 2014 and 2017.
