
Mclaren’sLando Norris has set his sights on the 2024 Formula One Championship as he thinks his side can challenge Red Bull for the championship. Norris has secured two podium finishes in2024including a second placed finish in the recently concluded Chinese Grand Prix.According to Norris, McLaren has all the substance to dethrone Red Bull in both thedriver’schampionshipand theconstructor’schampionship.
"Ihave already said it, Idon'tneed any more confidence.There'smore evidence [from China],"Norris told Sky Sports F1.
"Isaiditat the beginning of the year that I think we can fight against Red Bullandwe'llbe able toget awin this year.
"It'snot going to come easy. Idon'tthink it will come for a while, but right day, right time, good conditions, things which suit our car a little bit more - 100 per cent I have the faith in the teamandI have the faith in my ability to be able to pull it off."
"But it does need to be right place, right time.Idon'tthinkonaveragewe'reclose enough for the time being.But I want to believe."
Sunday’spodium finish was the Britishdriver’s15th of the career,nowextending his record for most podium finishes without winning a race. He had earlier leapfrogged Nick Heidfeld (13) during the Austrian Grand Prix for most podium finishes without winning the race. Another podium finish will see him break the record for most podium finishes before winning a race (eventuallyif he wins in the future).
As things stand, he will next take to the track on 3-5 May during the Miami Grand Prix andwilllook to claim his maiden win.

McLaren team principal Andrea Stella admitted before the start of the season that the Woking squad were behind where they wanted to be with the development of the MCL38, but confirmedin China that the upgrades will"finally"arrive in Florida.
