Watch: Indian Meteorological Department forecasts heavy rains in Chennai in next 24 hours
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rains in Tamil Nadu in the next 24 hours.
Chennai has been hit by continuous downpour since Thursday evening with the city completely waterlogged.
State minister KP Anbalagan said: "Rain has come all of a sudden. This is nature's fury, you must understand. We are working on a war footing to clear the water. "

He also assured that the state government has worked out a Rs 600 crore master plan to drain out the water.
Chief minister Edappadi K Palanisamy visited RK Nagar which has been badly hit, along with other state ministers.
