Three Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists killed in Shopian encounter  

Three Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) terrorists were killed following an encounter with the security forces in Shopian, Jammu and Kashmir on Friday.

Acting on a tip-off the police and the security forces launched cordon and search operation at Adkhara Village in Imam Sahab area of Shopian district. During searches, the hiding terrorists fired upon the search party which retaliated leading to an encounter.

In the ensuing encounter, three terrorists were killed and their bodies retrieved from the site of encounter. The slain terrorists have been identified as Lateef Ahmad Dar alias Tiger of Dogripora Pulwama, Tariq Ahmad Sheikh alias Mufti Waqas of Moolu Chitragam Shopian and Shariq Ahmad Nengroo of Chotigam Shopian.

According to the Police records, all three terrorists were affiliated to proscribed HM outfitand were wanted for their complicity in a series of terror crimes including attacks on security establishments and civilians. The trio was also alleged to have lured several youths into terror organisations.

Incriminating material including arms and ammunition were recovered from the site of encounter, police said in a statement.

Police have requested the public not go near the encounter zone until it's is completely sanitized and cleared of all the explosive materials if any.
