As the entire world is getting in a vacation mood, rapper Kendrick Lamar gave the best surprise that his millions of fans never hoped for.
On Friday (Nov 22), Lamar released his sixth studio album, GNX, featuring 12 new tracks. The surprise gesture comes at the end of the year, which was about his much-publicised feud with Drake.
Lamar's new album comes two years after his last album Mr Morale and Big Steppers in 2022, which was released five years after his comeback album DAMN in 2017.
The album's artwork is a black-and-white image of a rapper standing in front of a car.
For the 12-track album, he has contributed with SZA, who appears on “Luther” and “Gloria.” The other artists that feature in the album are Sam Dew, Roddy Ricch, Bobby Hawk, Ink and many more.

Lamar's new album comes a few months ahead of his Super Bowl Halftime Show performance. In one of his tracks, ''Wacced Out Murals,'' the rapper addresses the backlash from the netizens, who thought that Lil Wayne was the best choice as the game will be taking place at his native place, New Orleans.
In the song, he raps, “I used to bump ‘Tha Carter 3,’ I held my Rollie chain proud / Irony, I think my hard work let Lil Wayne down.”

Before this album, he released back-to-back songs including “Euphoria,” “Meet the Grahams” and “Not Like Us'' during his feud with Drake.
''Not Like Us'' is one of the songs that has been nominated for Grammys in two categories: Song of the Year and Record of the Year. Talking about his diss track for rapper Drake, he said earlier, “This man has morals, he has values, he believes in something, he stands on something,” Lamar explained. “He’s not pandering.”
