
Netflix has given fans a glimpse of actor Fardeen Khan's character in Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, which marks filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali's debut OTT project. Khan, who returns to acting after a 15-year hiatus, plays Wali Mohammed in the period drama set during India's freedom struggle.
The platform also revealed character posters of senior actor Shekhar Suman, his son Adhyayan Suman, and Taha Shah, all part of the series set against the backdrop of Heeramandi during the freedom movement in 1940s.
In the series, Khan's character Wali Mohammed is embroiled in a struggle between love and duty, attempting to balance his heart's desires with his royal responsibilities. Netflix India shared Khan's character poster, describing his return to the screen as "spectacular."

Heeramandi is described as an epic saga of love, power, revenge, and freedom, exploring the lives of courtesans and their patrons in Heeramandi amidst the tumultuous freedom struggle. The show boasts a star-studded cast including Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Sharmin Segal, Aditi Rao Hyadri, and Sanjeeda Shaikh in lead roles.
Suman portrays Zulfikar, pledging allegiance to Mallikajaan but facing obstacles in his quest for ambition. Adhyayan plays Zoravar, whose affection for Lajjo is tested against the call of love. Taha Shah portrays Tajdar, a nawab's son torn between tradition and love, seeking purpose through liberation.

The series is set to premiere on Netflix on May 1.
