Farah Khan's mother Menaka Irani dies at 79

Bollywood director and choreographer Farah Khan'smother Menaka Irani died at the age of 79,on Friday, July 26. As per the reports, she was notwell for quite some time and passed away due toage-related ailments. Menakawas recently seen in Farah's YouTube vlogs.
Menaka was the sister ofchild actors Daisy Irani and Honey Irani. She has also worked in a few filmsincluding the 1963 movieBachpanalongside Salman Khan's father Salim Khan.
No official statement has been released from the family yet.
In July, Farah Khan shared a heartwarming post on her mother's birthday.
In the caption, the choreographer-director wrote, ''We all take our mothers for granted..especially me! This last month has been a revelation on how much i lov my mom Menka.. she s been the strongest, bravest person iv ever seen.. sense of humour intact even after multiple surgeries. Happy birthday mom! Today’s a good day to come back home ♥️ can’t wait for you to get strong enough to start fighting with me again.. i Lov u♥️.''

Farah Khan and her brother, Sajid Khan, were raised by their brother Menaka after their father Kamran Khan died due toalcoholism.
The choreographer-directorin her previous interviews has revealed how her mother raised them single-handedly after their father's death.
“Yes, I belonged to a filmy family, but by the time I turned five, we were the poor cousins. We’d lost all our money, dad’s film had flopped. We had a riches to rags story. So, they (rest of the family) were all rocking, and we were the charity cases. Sajid and me and our mother were the charity cases. But, of course, they were very nice to us. They let us stay in their house,” Farah had previouslysaid.
Celebrities arrive At Farah's home
Soon after the news aboutFarah's mother's death broke, celebrities started arriving at theirhome to pay their last respectsto the late soul.
Salman's father and veteran writer Salim Khanwas among those spotted at Farah Khan’s Mumbai home. Rani Mukerji, Manish Paul, Vikram Phadnis, and Fardeen Khan among other celebrities were also captured arriving at the director's home.
