Offline Campers unveils Solitaire Hybrid Travel Trailer for off-grid adventures

Australian-based Offline Campers has revealed its latest creation: the Solitaire hybrid travel trailer. This innovative addition to their lineup represents a significant leap forward in off-grid camping technology and comfort, aimed at adventurous couples seeking a premium glamping experience.

The Solitaire, which made its debut in 2023, is a testament to Offline Campers' commitment to producing top-tier recreational vehicles capable of withstanding the harsh Australian outback. With a starting price of 130,000 Australian dollars (approximately ISD 88,000) for the 14-foot model, the Solitaire positions itself in the upper echelons of the travel trailer market.

At the heart of the Solitaire's impressive capabilities is its robust Cruisemaster ATX airbag suspension system, coupled with a hot-dip galvanised chassis. This combination provides a smooth, "floating" ride over rough terrain, while also ensuring durability in challenging environments. The trailer boasts high ground clearance and a steep departure angle, though specific measurements are not provided by the manufacturer.

The Solitaire's construction showcases a blend of alloys and composites, creating a shell designed to withstand the harshest conditions Australia can muster. Interestingly, the pop-top roof and rear section incorporate traditional tent canvas, striking a balance between ruggedness and weight savings.

One of the Solitaire's most innovative features is its electrically operated rear platform, which houses an ensuite bathroom. The trailer can be equipped with up to 800 watts of solar panels and a substantial 600 amp-hour lithium battery array. Fresh water capacity is equally impressive, with tanks holding up to 340 litres (90 gallons), ensuring extended stays away from civilisation are not only possible but comfortable.

In keeping with Australian camping traditions, the Solitaire encourages outdoor living with its well-designed external galley. This kitchen setup is mounted on a slide-out system and comes complete with gas and hot water connections. A 95-litre refrigerator, conveniently located at the front of the trailer, keeps provisions fresh. An awning provides essential shade for outdoor cooking and relaxation.

While the Solitaire represents a significant investment compared to many Australian campers, its price point is more in line with high-end North American offerings. This positioning reflects the trailer's advanced features, robust construction, and luxurious amenities.
