The shorter withdrawal would help ensure rockets did not reach villages in northern Israel that have been targeted with anti-tank missiles and was a compromise seen as more palatable to Hezbollah than a retreat to the Litani, one Western diplomat with knowledge of the two-page proposal said. 
Up to 15,000 Lebanese army troops would be deployed in the border region of south Lebanon, a Hezbollah political stronghold where the group's fighters have long melted into society at times of calm.

Asked about the proposal, senior Hezbollah politician Hassan Fadlallah told Reuters that the group would not discuss "any matter related to the situation in the south before the halt of the aggression on Gaza".

"The enemy is not in the position to impose conditions," added Fadlallah, declining to comment on details of the proposal or whether Hezbollah had received it.

A report by The Times, a British daily newspaper, on Monday, said that it found that over the years migrants, including those convicted of murder and sex crimes, have managed to avoid being deported claiming that they have converted to Christianity.&nbsp;

According to the report, migrants in UK courts have argued that if they returned to their home countries they would be persecuted due to their apparent conversion.&nbsp;

In Ezedi’s case, he arrived in the UK illegally in 2016 after fleeing from Afghanistan and was granted refugee status by 2022 on his third attempt. This was despite him pleading guilty to sexual assault and exposure charges in 2018.&nbsp;

He was granted refugee status on the basis that he had apparently converted to Christianity after an appeal tribunal – Upper Tribunal’s immigration and asylum chamber, the final stage of legal appeal before deportation – ruled in his favour.&nbsp;

The grant came after a priest vouched for Ezedi saying that he had converted to Christianity. It is understood the priest in question was not Roman Catholic or from the Church of England.

Both the Church of England and the Catholic Church in England and Wales have since denied that the chemical attack suspect was converted to the faith via their denominations.

The New South Wales Productivity Commission report, on Tuesday (Feb 13) warned that one of Australia’s most prominent cities, Sydney is on track to be “the city with no grandchildren” as its soaring house prices are driving young families out.&nbsp;

According to the commissioner, the officials must build inner Sydney suburbs and not just add houses on the city’s outskirts. He also said that Sydney needs “hundreds of thousands of new homes over the next two decades” to address the issue. &nbsp;

This, Achterstraat said, would not only help productivity and wages but also cut consumers’ carbon emissions due to shorter commutes and preserve land and green spaces.&nbsp;

The NSW productivity commissioner also called for a fresh discussion on heritage restrictions on housing close to the central business district and its role in keeping the prices high.&nbsp;

The female shooter, who was killed by security officers in the Lakewood church shooting incident after open firing at the Texas megachurch on Sunday (Feb 11), critically injured her own 7-year-old son, stated the authorities on Monday (Feb 12).&nbsp;

As per the authorities, the woman used an AR-style rifle to open fire inside the church and had a history of mental illness.

The shooter was identified by Houston police as 36-year-old Genesse Ivonne Moreno, who has also been accused of using both male and female aliases.&nbsp;

In a press conference, Houston Police Commander Chris Hassig said that the investigators after looking at past police reports discovered that Moreno identified herself as female.

Houston police and federal investigators on Monday (Feb 12) said that the motive behind the shooting has not been figured out yet, but they have been investigating a dispute which involves Moreno and the family of Moreno’s ex-husband.&nbsp;

The court documents related to the divorce and child custody indicate&nbsp;that advice was sought from church pastoral staff by the ex-mother-in-law of Moreno.&nbsp;

Moreno’s mother has been attending the church which is headed by evangelist pastor Joel Osteen.

Lakewood Church's spokesman Don Iloff said that the church staff did not know the shooter and added that no one he knew was familiar with the contact described in the legal filings.

Hassig, along with others, stated that Moreno had a history of mental illness and was kept in emergency detention in 2016.

In the investigation,&nbsp;officials also found antisemitic writings by the shooter, and Hassig said that Moreno's rifle had a “Palestine” sticker on the buttstock.&nbsp;

The police also searched the residence of Moreno on Monday (Feb 12) in Conroe. Houston Police Chief Troy Finner said that they have been investigating how Moreno in December legally purchased the AR-style rifle even though she had a criminal and mental health history.

Moreno had also carried a .22 calibre rifle inside the church, said the police.

Investigators said that Moreno as well as the boy entered the church just before 2 pm local time.&nbsp;

Finner said that Moreno after entering the church started firing and the guards inside the building - Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission Agent Adrian Herrera and off-duty Houston police officer Christopher Moreno - retaliated and killed the shooter.&nbsp;

Satellite records analysis indicates that in the last thirty years, approximately 11,000 square miles of Greenland's ice sheet and glaciers have melted. This area is comparable to the size of Albania and represents 1.6% of the total ice cover in Greenland.

The amount of land covered by vegetation has increased by 33,774 square miles as a result of the ice retreating. This expansion covers an area that is more than twice as large as it did when the study first started.
