Cruise ship bans woman who sold everything for the three-year trip

A woman from Florida who sold everything for a $350,469 cruise says that the ship has banned her over her leaked WhatsApp messages. The three-year voyage of Villa Vie Odyssey across Europe, Asia and the Americas has been marred by considerable delays with people stuck in Belfast for three months. A new date for departure is yet to be announced and so the passengers are facing a nightmarish time.
Jenny Phenix, 68, wanted to take the dream cruise and so sold all her possessions for it. She was planning to pick up some of her belongings when the ship docked in Miami.
But the ongoing delays have meant that that hasn't happened. She got angry and started venting about it to fellow passengers in a WhatsApp group. She wrote that the ship would no longer be docking in Miami.
Phenixalso wrote that the ship might continue to be renovated after departing Belfast and she would have to use a temporary cabin because the one she booked was being used by the crew.
The owners of Villa Vie Residences, which operates the ship, got hold of her messages, following which they told her that her contract for the voyage had been cancelled.

As per The Telegraph, Chief Operating Officer Kathy Villalba told her, "We have received over a dozen formal complaints from residents regarding your continuous complaints and negativity. This behaviour has significantly impacted the morale and well-being of other passengers."
"Given the overwhelming feedback, we must cancel your contract permanently to uphold the well-being and satisfaction of our community," Villalba said as per the publication.
Phenix says she was left stunned by the notice and thather private chats were being leaked. "These were private conversations - I posted nothing on social media platforms."
Villa Vie was supposed to travel to 425 destinations in 147 countries. However, passengers have been in Belfast ever since a "small delay" was announced on May 30. Some of them who are used to being in sunny weather have said that they are relying on Vitamin D tablets.
Many of them have even sold their homes to take the trip. Phenix was also relying on the three-year cruise after another residential ship scheme after Florida-based Life at Sea filed for bankruptcy. She has yet to receive £22,700 ($29,995)from them.
