In the widening US-Israel war with Iran, Iranian Shahed drones have emerged as a potent and persistent threat to U.S. and allied forces across the Middle East. These low-cost, one-way attack UAVs, chiefly the Shahed-136 and similar variants can fly low and slow, making them harder to detect and intercept with radar and prompting U.S. defence officials to acknowledge they pose a bigger challenge than anticipated.
